Kan ikke anbefale Mårbu dnt, vi hadde forhåndsbetalt kr. 15500,- for opphold i 2 døgn for 7 stk, 4 voksne og 3 barn, vi skulle ta båten inn iom at ett barn hadde fått kyssesyke tidligere på sommeren, vi reiste inn til Synken båtkai, hvor MB Mårfjord skulle frakte oss inn, så fikk vi tlf at båten hadde fått motorhavari og kunne ikke regne med transport før over helgen, dette oppholdet vårt var fra onsdag til fredag, turen måtte avlyses, vi var i kontakt med MårbuDnt men kunne i regne med noen refusjon, vi prøvde vår Fremtind reiseforsikring, heller ikke her får vi dekket oppholdet. Vi synes jo Mårbu Dnt burde kunne refundere en del av beløpet, skal aldri benytte meg av Dnt igjen, tragisk foretak !!!

Everything is only available in Norwegian, which makes the website very difficult for international visitors to use. Since many people understand English, there should at least be a clear button to change the language on every page. Ideally, the website could open in English by default for foreign visitors, with the option to switch back to Norwegian.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend the Skogadalsbøen hut. The managers, Anne Linn Svendsen and Magnus Højenare are inflexible around changes in plans due to illness despite a full week's notice and repeated explanations of the reason for having to cancel. They cite DNT policy but seem incapable of reasonable flexibility.

We prepaid for meals for a party of five with two children, the total booking for one night was over 5500 NOK. We had a child traveling with us with type 1 diabetes who we realized would not be able to make the strenuous hike in. We contacted the desk and the management and explained the situation. We were prepared to pay a cancellation fee or even the total fee for the dorm room beds but we were given a pat answer and zero refund.

To pay 5500 NOK for a cancelled reservation due to childhood illness with one week notice leaves a bad taste in one's mouth and is excessive. I have heard it is a beautiful place but I would not recommend booking given their inflexible policies and management. You can always show up and ask to be accommodated.

When presented with the situation they reply:

DNT centrally is not involved in daily management of the cabins.

When prebooking a stay at a serviced DNT cabin, prices and what the package/stay includes, are listed in the booking-portal"hyttebestilling.dnt.no" you used to book your stay. In order to finalize a booking, you have to agree to the terms and conditions. These include the cancelation-policy of no refunds of the stay the last seven days prior to arrival. This term is also noted on the booking-confirmation that is sent to the email used when booking the stay.
