Very impressed with my experience of doing a part exchange with the folks at Evans Halshaw Vauxhall in Falkrirk.

Sooroosh in particular was fantastic.
A wonderful human, I’m really glad I landed at his desk as a walk in.

He knew right away the perfect car for me from my list of wants and priorities and yet still humoured and fully support my need to extensively consider and look at other options (both with them and other locations). In then end, he was spot on and I ended up buying a slightly lower mileage version of the first car he recommended. And after promising to get a great deal for my car as part of the deal, he definitely delivered.

However, best of all, Sooroosh and his manager fully supported my time consuming needs to test drive multiple cars, and cost up and consider multiple different add-ons and finance options. Always taking the time to fully answer my questions and concerns, not once did I feel pressured by Sooroosh as I meticulously worked through the details and options with him.

I’ve come away with exactly what I wanted and then some, and couldn’t be happier.

Top marks to Evan Halshaw in Falkirk especially Sooroosh, who went the extra mile to get our deal over the line. Very professional and friendly.

Buyer beware.
In August 2025 we ordered a new car from Evans Halshaw, Falkirk. After receiving a call to say the car was ready, we were asked to pay the deposit and arrange insurance. Only when we arrived at the dealership were we told the car had a fault and would not be handed over.

Despite this, they activated the PCP agreement **before the car had been inspected or delivered**, and finance payments began for a vehicle we never received. At no point did the dealership acknowledge this, offer to pause the finance, or explain what support was available while the car remained on their premises.

Over the following weeks, communication was extremely poor. Calls went unanswered, a courtesy car was provided for a single day after two weeks of delay, and we only received a demonstrator after repeatedly demanding a vehicle. There was no clear or proactive communication throughout.

Once the contractual 30-day delivery period had passed, we formally gave written notice (copied to head office) allowing a further 7 days to deliver the car or that the contract was void in line with their own Terms & Conditions. This was ignored.

We then contacted Stellantis directly regarding finance being taken for a car that had never been delivered. Stellantis upheld our complaint very quickly, underlining that the situation itself was clear-cut. They also stated that they had needed to contact the dealership multiple times and escalate internally before receiving a response.

What should have been a straightforward purchase became three months of unnecessary stress. We were previously regular customers, yet the lack of accountability, communication, and basic customer care was appalling.

Had car in for mot/service other day which it passed but needed new timebelt which was replaced yesterday x price wasnt too bad but paying it over 6 months with bumper,this is my 4th car with Evans Halshaw Vauxhall Falkirk never had any issues with them

*****WARNING DO NOT BUY FROM THIS GARAGE***** purchased a car from this garage over the phone and put our full trust into the sales person and the garage. The car was delivered to us at a high cost to us as we live over 250 miles away from the garage, when the car was delivered we were shocked at the state of the car, it had never been cleaned or valeted, it has deep stone chips on the bonnet, it had a missing rear wiper, we were promised that one would be fitted but I had to go out and buy one myself and are now fighting for the garage to refund me the cost of the wiper. The car has a missing splash/belly plate which causes all road water, salt and mud to fly up into the engine bay and cover everything under the bonnet, they fitted new brake pads to worn brake discs which is dangerous for braking, I raised this with the garage and they are refusing to replace the missing splash/belly plate, they want to drive the car all the way back to Falkirk to check the brakes and do a health check which shows the car never went through any quality control before it was sold to us. I requested the car to go to our nearest Evans Halshaw to have the car checked but they declined and want it to be driven over 500 miles to be looked at even though they have branches all around the uk. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from a main dealer who has clearly flipped the car and pulled our pants down when they sold us the car over the phone. Shocking lies and even more shocking after service from them. In the process of activating our right to return the car under the consumer rights act 2015. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED, STEER CLEAR OF THIS JOKE OF A GARAGE

Though it took a while to get an appointment for somebody to look at the vehicle (around two weeks), the actual work was carried-out quickly (within a few hours). The work was comprehensive and the vehicle was returned in great condition (clean and ready to go). The staff were friendly and well-informed which was great.

The Diagnostic cost slightly-more than expected BUT, in all fairness, an estimate was given in-advance. The diagnostic report available afterwards was relatively thorough and helpful for somebody not car-minded. Parts/labor were reasonable and invoicing was transparent.

Excellent service as always, Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Car was in for MOT and Service, received a video of the walk around inspection.
Would recommend to everyone.

Evans Halshaw are very professional and keep you informed. I find the safety check video very reassuring when sent to my phone.
I was pleased that I got my car back earlier than requested which was a bonus.

Mot carried out quickly and efficiently. Not expensive either.

Great service from 1st car now on my 3rd.

Wouldn't return

My Vauxhall Grandland was in for a recall safety check this week and the service I received was exceptional.
Louise was very kind and helpful throughout the whole process. The atmosphere walking into the showroom was welcoming and smiles from staff which was lovely ☺️
I was kept informed throughout my cars stay. I dropped off my car the night before which was no hassle at all for the garage to accommodate. Thank you Vauxhall I absolutely love my car and I’m very grateful for the level of service I have received.

First class service from start to finish. Mot and service and cheaper than local independent garage and with far superior service.

Please take your money and sanity elsewhere - awful
Absolute stressful shambles from start to finish. Our car has been undriveable on our drive for 2 months out of 6. Once they have your money they do not care. Problem after problem and 3 breakdowns in 6 months - first 2 within warranty that was never resolved. Now it's out of warranty they can suddenly repair it but for a very nice charge... Did they care? No. Have they resolved the issue? No. Will I ever buy from them again or recommend to anyone? No. Take your money elsewhere and prevent the inevitable hassle and terrible dangerous car they will sell you. Awful - would give 0 stars.

UPDATE - just paid to have the car ‘repaired’ and broke down on the motorway in the rain AGAIN. Feel like this will only be taken seriously when we are in a serious accident or killed. Please do not buy from them.

UPDATE 2 - told we need to pay to have recovery take our car back to their Falkirk garage for them to 'take another look' even though we just paid for the 'repair' already.

Also the service.followup@evanshalshaw email doesn’t work. They’ve probably disabled it due to too many complaints.

I started the process of buying a car at the middle of August but unfortunately had to cancel the purchase. I experienced extremely poor customer service with the sales team, they both missed and were late to Teams meetings, I had to phone them to ask questions and had no communication back the way and resulted in me getting fed up. Since then I have been chasing up the refund of my deposit and have still not received it. Would not recommend dealing with this garage.

Sooroosh was absolutely brilliant, really helpful and friendly. My husband bought a car today and I will definitely come back to him for mine!

Bought a car on 26th July and on the 12th August the clutch got stuck completely down while I was driving - this is a serious dangerous fault. I had to glide the car to the side of the road and pull up the clutch physically, and since then the start stop has not worked - obviously if the clutch has a mechanical error the start stop won’t activate.

Made Evans Halshaw - Falkirk aware of this immediately. Now, I’m in Glasgow - the Falkirk branch is in Grangemouth, this is a dangerously far journey to drive with a stuck clutch issue. Did Evans Halshaw care? Absolutely not, they demanded I go to the Falkirk branch and would not accommodate me to a closer and safer Glasgow branch as requested.

Got it looked over by their service team in Falkirk who tried to say “it was probably stuck on your floor mats” what a joke! If it was stuck on the floor mats why did I have to physically engage it back into position and the start stop stopped?? And not even a couple days later, same thing happened although not as stiff this time as I was able to flick it up with my foot and continue driving - again a very dangerous fault though!

Contacted them AGAIN, I was told their service manager was in a meeting and would get back to me - they never did. So I chased through the Evans Halshaw live chat who said they would escalate it to their managers.

Haven’t heard back since the 26th of August and I have been chasing up until the 9th September. I’m passing the issue onto the ombudsman now.

They put on quite the show to make it seem like they care about their customers until you hand over the money.

At this point I want to wipe my hands of them, if anything further comes of this they’ll be hit with an invoice and ill be taking it as far as I can legally 👍

UPDATE:-
Still no contact about my complaints concerning dangerous faults. But I did receive a missed call on 27/9/25 2:05pm with a voicemail from Daniel stating that as I’ve had my car for 3 years, I can trade it in for an upgrade - this is news to me, considering I’ve not even owned the car 3 months! Proof they only care about money. Avoid like the plague!

I booked my car in for a safety recall and the service I received was phenomenal. I was given a free health check on my car and they washed my car as well. It was above and beyond what was expected considering the safety recall was free for me. Emma dealt with my booking extremely professionally.

My experience with Richard Gibbons at Falkrik Evanshalshaw was amazing. He was very polite, open, and transparent in his dealings. I highly recommend Richard and Evan Shalshaw for car buys.
