I ordered a light voile fabric. I received a mass of scratchy, rough & abrasive polyester. When I tried to get them to honor their claim of satisfaction guarantee & request a return, the company refused to even reply.

Ordered a hunter green fabric, hunter green thread, and hunter green zipper for a dress. They sent me the correct color thread, but zipper did not match the thread, and the fabric was Emerald/Kelly green, not EVEN CLOSE. I emailed their support and was told it was the correct color and that it was the entire lot that the dye makes color look different. Absolute bull, BUYER BEWARE, DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS WEBSITE. I will be adding the images of fabric and screenshots of email to Facebook, tiktok, Instagram, and snapchat story.

I ordered aq few things 2 days ago and just went back and looked at the confermation email. The email says it won't get here for another week so that makes from the time of ordering to the time its supposed to get here a week and a half. I messaged them and told them that if it was going to take that long then cancel everything. I was told I would get an email tell me it was canceled and refunded. Instead of getting the cancelation email I was told that it had already shipped, which I don't beleive. I will NEVER do business with this company again and anyone that reads this should never, don't waste your money.

I don't know why there are so many negative reviews here! I have ordered from FWD 4 times over the last 5 years and never had a bad experience with them. Yes, shipping times can be a little variable but that's ok for the quality and price of the fabrics you receive. It's true that they don't offer a lot of intense coupons, discounts, etc, but that's how they are able to keep prices reasonable. I've bought 16 different products (14 fabrics plus zippers and thread) and several swatches from them, and been happy with almost everything. Some of the fabrics have felt a little cheaper than I hoped, but that's the nature of inexpensive polyester. You just have to figure out what fabrics you like and want to order again, as with any merchant. And plenty of fabrics have been very good... I have used them to make lots of things including an heirloom baptismal gown (cotton voile and broadcloth) and my wedding dress (poly satin and cotton voile and broadcloth to line it with). I really appreciate the selection of apparel fabrics FWD carries, since that is so hard to find these days.

Placed order 10 days ago. My credit card was charged, but order has not shipped, and customer service person was unable to tell me when it will ship. They have my money, but I don't have my fabric (will I ever?).

Horrible Customer Service

Just horrible. Never have I had an experience like this.

Left brain does not know what the right brain is doing. Took them 12 days to tell me they don't have the stock they said they have. I lost a customer because of it and a hefty order of custom bags. As a new customer, they are not willing to offer me anything to keep my business. No coupon, no free shipping, no free sample of a fabric I might be interested in (all things that other fabric suppliers have done graciously to keep my business flowing).

Then, I got on the phone with these people. They require you to jump through hoops to do anything. "I cannot contact my manager with your issue, you will have to do it yourself".

Do yourself a favor, buy from a company that cares about you and your hard earned money.

The color of fabric on the website was incredibly inaccurate. There’s customer service dude was rude as hell. No help. why should i return the fabric for their mistake.

Still have not shipped my fabric! It has been a week since placing the order. I contacted them a couple days ago and have not heard back. Poor communication, slow shipping (if they even ship at all.). Their website says they will ship out within 24-48 hours, yet a week has gone by and they haven’t shipped. I need this fabric asap! Very disappointed. Will not be doing business with again.

I received my neoprene fabric from FWD, and it arrived in terrible condition. It had a large green stain and deep creases running horizontally, vertically, and diagonally, making it completely unusable. Apparently, anything under a certain yardage is shipped folded, but there’s no notice or option to upgrade shipping during checkout. As a result, the neoprene was folded and crammed into a box.
When I requested a replacement in good condition, they asked me to send more money. Seriously? I’ve now filed a dispute with my credit card company over the original charges.

I ordered the clear vinyl sheathing. After installing the 6 4’ x 10’ panels it was obvious something was wrong with it, blurry stripe every 8” horizontally. Called to see what to do to fix it, clean it etc. You can not order in advance because the warranty, if you call 30 days a warranty, probably expired before you unroll the product. Just tried to get answers, I didn’t ask for replacement just advice. That courtesy was not possible because the 30 days had expired. The worst service I’ve ever experienced. Please do yourself a favor pay a little more and go anywhere else!!!!!!

Oh my goodness I LOVE this online fabric store!!! Prices are reasonable, fabric is great quality, orders are shipped quickly and are accurate, and they are generous in cutting your fabric pieces. I am so thankful to have found them! And I would recommend this store for all your sewing needs…

I purchased something from them and it was so disappointing. Quality is bad and they're white color is too white like bluish white and off white is too yellow.
I had to return them on my own payment. I had to pay $24 for all shipments and got nothing.

I received 5 yards of defective material. Print was full of white lines where it didn’t print and a seam in the yardage. Requested refund and got cost of 1 yard. It was unusable. When offered refund never stated the amount. Won’t buy from them again.

The quality of service isn't good enough, but acceptable. But if you're looking for a great quality of fabrics, you can order here because they are well selected. Would definitely use again, thanks.

Okay so first off, the videos of the fabrics are the absolute best thing. You can really get a feel for how thick they are, how transparent, how shiny or matte, and, most importantly, the drape. It's a cosplayer's dream for online fabric buying. And their color previews are actually accurate to real life, not some vague approximate. But if you absolutely need to touch test your fabric or swatch test for a custom dye job before you commit, their prices for swatches are really cheap, plus a couple bucks to ship all the swatches. In terms of quality? I'd say their fabrics are better than Joann's, at a fraction of the price. And the selection? Awesome, they have tons of fabrics in tons of colors. And they give you the material content and washing suggestions, so if you're creating a piece using a couple of different fabrics, you can be sure they'll play nice with each other in the wash. Order speed? I happen to live near their warehouse, so I put in for order pickup. They had my order ready for warehouse pickup the same day, it was awesome. Customer service? I messaged them on Facebook and they responded really quickly and even followed up to make sure my questions were answered. I think I've found my new favorite place to get fabric, and I'll definitely be buying from them a lot more in the future!

I purchased a 14 yard roll of 30-mil clear vinyl fabric. The fabric that arrived is clearly defective - it has rub marks swirl marks, and wave patterns throughout the roll. I reached out to Fabric Wholesale Direct, but all I was offered was a 10% refund because I cut a yard off the roll. I have filed a dispute with my credit card company.

If you are thinking about buying from this site, run in the other direction. This is by far some of the worst customer service and experience I have ever had shopping online, and shop online regularly.

I ordered vinyl from this site, and paid nearly the same price for shipping as the cost of the vinyl. The company sent it boxed rather than on a roll, and it arrived irreversibly damaged due to colour fading and creasing. Customer service was completely useless for any help. They insisted that the small print at the bottom on the listing of the vinyl excused them from the reasonable expectation that goods be delivered undamaged.

I ordered 8 yards. Apparently anything under 10 yards is sent folded. There is no notice at checkout about them folding the vinyl and no option to upgrade shipping so fabric isn't sent folded. Anyone who's ever worked with vinyl knows you shouldn't fold it.

Despite the fact that the product arrived damaged, I was expected to pay return shipping after already having paid for shipping once. The company wasn't willing to do anything to correct the damage in the material. They expected me to pay return shipping, place a new order with them and pay for shipping on a second order, having me pay for shipping three separate times to the same company before I got undamaged goods.

Literally any other online store that tells you their shipping policy upfront and has any sort of customer service is a better option.

Very poor customer service. Would not cancel an order only several hours after it was placed. Tried to lie and say it had been shipped. Busted! FedEx reported that the item had not yet been picked up. Then I asked to at least cancel the expedited shipping. They refused.

I run a large online merchandising company and we provide much more flexibility and courtesy. It's not that hard to put your customers first and it pays off in the long run. This company would do well to value its customers above its inflexible practices. I will now have to refuse delivery and initiate a chargeback with my credit card company to recoup my money. Lousy company. Don't buy from them!

This week I ordered some lovely curtain fabric from FWD, which I needed quickly, but I am UK based and the company is in the USA. I rang to see how quickly it might come and the friendly patient helpful agent said they would do everything to get it to me asap despite the official 2-3 week estimate. It arrived TWO DAYS later! Now that is customer service. The material is excellent quality exactly as described and at a very reasonable price. What more could you ask for.
