Genesis Publications Reviews

Love the Doors book, Fantastic work. Thank You!

Everything was perfect and outstanding. Above and beyond product.

Though the product was fantastic, there were many delays in sending my product. From January 2025 there were periodical delays. I ultimately received the product only in June

Company kept in touch about product I was buying for a significant amount of outlay.
Although it was late I was kept informed and more than delighted when I recieved it.
The product itself was worth every penny as a massive fan of the artists work.
Can't recommend highly enough.

I have many books by Genesis Publications, all are great - my favorit
music experience, thanks a lot.

They kept me updated on the status of my Doors book purchase, and helped me anytime I called.

As a decades-long loyal customer to Genesis i appreciate the high quality of all books. Each edition is unique and all books are true collector's items! Also the client service couldn't be any better, simply perfect.

Genesis Publications make beautiful books that are worth the money for what are works of art .
They also send the books well packaged and with excellent customer support.

I am buying books from GENESIS since more than 20 years and are always treated with the same professionalism and courtesy. They also aknowledge my special requests and are easy to work with.

The quality of the books is also ******

GENESIS as I see is improving in customer relation. I see the mails informing about what is in print what is in shipping what is in delay. It is far better than a year ago when I needed to contact the company as after almost a year still no book arriving. Now I see the needed info in the mailings . Quality and the books were always high quality gems

Wonderful products happy to own several and love the quality.

A Treasure Trove for Collectors and Music Lovers Alike

Genesis Publications has set the gold standard for collectible books. Every title they release is a work of art — meticulously produced, bound in the finest materials, and often signed by the artists themselves. These are not just books; they are heirlooms.

From the moment you open the handmade clamshell box to reveal a silk-bound volume with archival-quality pages, you know you're holding something extraordinary. Each edition captures a unique cultural moment — from the inner worlds of legendary musicians and photographers to the behind-the-scenes stories of iconic tours and collaborations.

The attention to detail is simply astonishing. Every limited edition is numbered, often signed, and accompanied by rare photographs, handwritten lyrics, or exclusive commentary that you won’t find anywhere else. The printing, paper, binding, and design reflect a commitment to craftsmanship that has all but disappeared in today’s publishing world.

Owning a Genesis book is like owning a piece of history. Whether you’re a Stones collector, Jimmy Page devote, or passionate about rock, photography, or cultural history — these books are conversation pieces, investments, and personal treasures rolled into one.

If you’re lucky enough to secure a copy before they sell out (and they always do), you’ll understand why Genesis is held in such high esteem by collectors worldwide.

Great, great books - extraordinary quality.

Always great communication and updates, and absolutely superb books!

I’ve ordered many Genesis Publications over the years, and their customer service is amazing, courteous and always keeping you updated on delivery windows etc. obviously their products are in a league of their own, and I’ve nothing but positive experiences with them.

I’ve purchased A Guide to the Labyrinth: The Collected Works of Jim Morrison, Bruce Lee: In My Own Process and The Doors Anthology: Night Divides the Day. Genesis Publications really put effort in these pieces of art with forewords from other artists, rare photography, interviews with peers and family members, replicas of memorabilia and other items that fit with the publication. The books are quarter-bound and presented in a clamshell box in the theme of the publication. Their customer service is cordial and helpful. One little point of critique is that they can be to optimistic with their estimated manufacturing time when pre-ordering. When in reality it takes a little more time then they anticipated.

Todo perfecto envío rápido muy bien protegido atención al cliente rápido y bueno. Muy buenas calidades como era de esperar volveré a comprar.

I ordered "A Guide to the Labyrinth: The Collected Works of Jim Morrison, Special Edition", an important archival work, especially the facsimiles of the notebooks.

Regardless, two issues stood out that concern copy editing and (possibly) content editing.

1. Copy editing: In several places the original, handwritten poems are incorrectly transcribed. This is usually limited to one word, but such a mistake alters the meaning - however subtly - of what the author intended. Example: page 125: handwritten: "Out here on the perimeter"; Transcription: "Out her in the perimeter".

At times the punctuation is mistranscribed. Example: page 124: "Jumped" should be followed by a comma.

In other poems there are stanzas in the transcribed version, but not in the original notebook.
Example: page 86. The stanza that begins "brief gold sparks...Outlaw Star" is not on the handwritten page.

There are also spacing issues. Example: page 89; "else" is typed as "els e."

In several cases, the copies of the handwritten noted have their right edge cut off. Example: page 95.

Tense is also mistranscribed in places. Example: page 110 - in the handwritten notes are in past tense, "raced," "laughed," whereas the transcription is in present tense: "race," "laugh."

In other places it appears that two different versions of the same work are presented without a note. Example: page 116. Transcribed line: "Well I used to know someone fair;" handwritten: "I once knew someone fair."

In some instances a word is left out in the transcription. Example: page 124; the word "stripped," should appear before "out to get."

2. Content editing

A line is missing ("[expletive] in the woodpile") from "The Paris Journal" that did appear in "The American Night: The Writings of Jim Morrison Volume 2". Also, the line is missing (photoshopped?) from the handwritten notes, indicated by an unusually long break in the text. A note should have been included to explain the discrepancy between the two published versions.

Superb publication, quality of the book is excellent. I believe it is a great value considering the attention to detail present.

Great rare books and very careful packagings, the books arrive in mint condition which seems the least considering the high price of the books
