We purchase vans and dropsied trucks…
We purchase vans and dropsied trucks from SMC Ford Transit Centre in Slough.
One of the trucks after 2000 miles started to show a light saying there was no ad-blue in the tank, despite the truck being full of ad-blue. The truck was in and out of Ford workshop in Croydon and was eventually fixed. We have a monthly preventative maintenance program, so it is impossible for any over our vehicles to be low on fluids.
This same truck was delivering vital parts to one of our jobs in Holland when the driver stopped for fuel the truck would not start showing a fault of no ad-blue. The driver new there was ad-blue as he saw it being topped up when the vehicle checks were done before he set out from London. We got the truck recovered to Ford Garage FGeudens bvba in Belgium at around 9.30PM. The driver phoned Ford Assist which could not assist. Ford Assist advised the driver to wait at the garage until it opened at 8am. When GarageFGeudens opened in the morning they said we cannot even look at your vehicle unit three days’ time. We explained we have a driver and vehicle with urgent parts for a job stranded between countries in a brand-new vehicle with only 7000 miles on the clock. We called again to Ford Driver assist and were told that someone would get back to us. We continued to call Ford assist all day and were repeatedly told we are seeing what Ford can do for you and will get back to you, In desperation I called SMC Ford Transit Centre in Slough were we buy our trucks(I have sent business to Rahil from owners of other companies buying trucks), I spoke to Rahil the sales guy who sells us our commercial vehicles, I asked Rahil “please call the Garage FGeudens in Belgium please ask them if they can get someone to look at our truck) Rahil assured me he would get this sorted.
Rahil did nothing for us, I called him days later and asked him why he would not help. Rahil replied I called Ford assist for you”. Rahil did not listen or care about our problems. As for Ford assist do not waste your time calling them, they never did call us back despite promising on every call we made to them to help us.
We had to get ourselves out of trouble, George the driver of the truck got a Taxi to a local hire firm, hired a truck and removed a full tuck load of material on his own onto the hire vehicle then drove to the job in Holland without any sleep.
I called Ford Garage FGeudens bvba in Belgium and was informed days later that they had fixed the truck. Paul from Garage FGeudens informed me there was no ad-blue in the truck. I explained the whole story to him, he said he did not believe me and that there was no ad-blue in the truck and we cannot have the truck back until we pay his invoice.
I will pay Pauls invoice, I am not complaining about money. No one at Ford cares, at Ford they wouldn’t even call you a taxi. It would not be so bad if from the start Ford made it clear. Ford should let its customers know that they will NOT help that would enable business people to go straight to plan B which obviously has nothing to do with Ford. We waisted valuable time because Ford assist said it would help. We will not bother calling Ford assist or anyone in Ford when we need help no point it just makes it worse.
