Gloal eParcel Solutions are destroying parcels
Global eParcel Solutions are destroying parcels containing personal goods that they have no authority to destroy.
I have now read numerous messages from others who has faced the same issue with Global eParcel Solutions.
Global eParcels Solutions have taken my personal items and claiming that they have destroyed the parcels providing no evidence or proof of destruction; no due process followed; and no authority to destroy any personal goods. They must be stopped.
On 30 October 2021, I booked the shipping of 4 parcels from US to the UK via Parcel Monkey (3rd party shipping broker).
Parcel Monkey initially used FedEx Ground who shipped my parcels domestically to an international sorting office in New Jersey, USA and handed the parcels over to another agent "Global eParcel Solutions" for international shipping to the UK.
I received a message on Thursday 4 November 2021 stating that because my parcels were incorrectly declared, they have gone ahead and destroyed the contents of all 4 parcels because the parcels contained cigars.
Whilst the courier has the right to refuse to ship certain items, they, without prejudice, DO NOT have any legal right or authority to destroy goods. If they refuse to ship the items, which they have the right to, they must return the items to sender.
The parcels have not even yet left US shores and are in New Jersey, and therefore returning them is what every other courier would do if they refuse to ship them.
Remarkably, Global eParcels Solutions is of the opinion that it can destroy personal goods whilst ignoring all due process and law and without providing any proof/evidence.
The first message to me which i received via the Parcel Monkey portal was that the goods have been destroyed and that this would be the end of the matter.
The replacement value of the contents of the parcels is circa $10,000, and ironically I had intentionally did not state the specific details of the contents on the declaration forms so as the parcels do not become targets for theft.
It is clear to me that there is no way Global eParcel Solutions would destroy the items in all 4 boxes.
They have provided no evidence or proof despite asking for this on 5 occasions. If they destroy items then there would be a process which they would need to follow. Moreover, they are, without prejudice, legally required to keep the items to allow for the sender to appeal any decisions made.
The value of the items doesn’t take second guessing and the person(s) handling the parcels know fully well the worth of the contents of my parcels as it is clear they have opened my parcels. It is therefore without question that the contents of my 4 parcels have NOT been destroyed, but rather they have been TAKEN and Global eParcel Solutions has used the excuse that the parcels contain prohibited items in an attempt tp retain the goods for themselves rather than return to sender.
It has so far not been possible to get through to anyone from Global eParcel Solutions, neither over the telephone or via email. I have sent an email to a generic email I have been given, addressing it to the attention of a senior manager, asking them to intervene and request a full investigation into the matter and the whereabouts of my parcels which I am certain have not been destroyed but have been taken.
If I get no traction from their senior management and my case is not investigated, I will, without prejudice, be taking legal action to carry out an investigation and to recover my goods.
I am absolutely astonished and appalled by Global eParcel Solutions and provide fair warning to anyone thinking of using their service.
