I went to the St Pauls shop. Checked their opening hours on their website before I set off - 'til 7 pm. Left work early, took a diversion on way home to get there, arrived at 6:05, it's all in darknes... Toon meer

I made a specific visit to Go Outdoors to buy mountain hiking boots
I made a specific visit to Go Outdoors by St. Pauls because I wanted to buy dinner technically advanced hiking boots. I was very glad I did as I got far better service than my previous attempt to purchase boots at Cotswold Outdoors. Gavin was very helpful, carefully checking my foot size and assessing my needs. He was patient and friendly and sought advice from his colleague Alum about the fit of the boot. Alum adjusted the boot shape for me with a specialist tool and gave me helpful advice about preparing the boots. This was the best experience I have had in buying an expensive pair of boots and I cannot commend the staff here enough for their friendliness and professionalism.

Don't rely on website opening hours
I went to the St Pauls shop. Checked their opening hours on their website before I set off - 'til 7 pm. Left work early, took a diversion on way home to get there, arrived at 6:05, it's all in darkness and locked up, with a piece of paper in the window, "We close early on Mondays and Tuesdays at 6 pm." Please, update your website - it can't be so hard - don't waste people's time. (Or even better find staff that can stay 'til 7).

We are sorry to hear about your experience when visiting our St Paul's store. We understand how frustrating it must have been to leave work early and make a special journey, only to find the store closed when you expected it to be open.
The opening hours are displayed on our website and show different trading hours for each day of the week. On Mondays and Tuesdays, the St Paul's store closes at 6:00pm, while later opening hours apply on other days. We appreciate that this may have caused some confusion and we're sorry for the inconvenience this caused.

Great staff
Have been into the St Paul's branch a number of times recently in preparation for the Welsh 3000 charity event that I conducted and have always had a extremely engaging representative of the brand serve me, the staff are always on hand for advice, to sound out ideas and for a general chat in between.
Gavin, who helped me pick my Meindls for the event was particularly engaging and honest with his opinions and service.
All round a great group of staff and as a member my favourite branch to visit.
