GO Outdoors - Wigan Reviews 

Visited the Wigan store 23/07/26 to purchase walking shoes with my autistic son. Big thank you to Mandi for her patience, brand and shoe fitting knowledge. It made the experience so much easier. Mandi took the time to explain how each brand fits slightly differently and gave us different sizes to try so we got the best fit. She also explained the best way to fasten your walking shoes up and the best socks to avoid blisters.

Sounds a bit dodgy. Receipt said £47. Amount was about £20 cheaper. With the £5 cost of card it still only added to about £45. Only seen at home and frustrated now. The receipt even says Ive said £38 please tell me from where!!!

I can't thank and recommend Chris (manager) at Wigan GO outdoors enough. Chris went above and beyond to find me an Air beam for a tent i purchased from someone to find out sortly after that it was badly damaged beyond repair and discontinued. He went out of his way to find an alternative one that would fit my tent . My children and i can re-book our first little camping trip we sadly had to miss. Thank you so much Chris and your fantastic Colleagues ☺️

I had another excellent experience at GO Outdoors Wigan thanks to Sue. She went above and beyond to help me find exactly what I was looking for, taking the time to answer my questions and make sure I left with the right items. What's even more impressive is that Sue helped me to the same outstanding standard this time last year as well. It's rare to receive such consistently friendly, knowledgeable, and professional customer service. A real credit to the GO Outdoors Wigan team. Thank you, Sue!

Mandi, the shop assistant, was really helpful in choosing the right footwear for me. She was very giving of her time and her knowledge of all the footwear was excellent! She had a good sense of humour and was approachable. I’d definitely shop here again. Thank you.

After ordering from the go outdoors online store, I received walking boots which were different models of the same boot and therefore had different sole patterns! I took them to the Wigan store to refund them. Sue helped me in picking out some different boots and sorted an exchange for me with no fuss, even making sure I wasn't paying any more for the new boots I picked out which were a few quid extra. She was so helpful and had a good laugh with us whilst she sorted everything out. She opened the footbridge for me to try them out and accompanied me to the checkout to make sure the transaction ran smoothy. She has excellent customer service, and it made an unfortunate event into a painless and enjoyable experience.

Wigan Store

Visited a few weeks ago and needed some assistance with purchasing replacement poles.

Chris was brilliant in assisting us and it felt like nothing was too much trouble. He even demo'd and explained in detail how we'd need to modify the poles to make them work. It was a really positive experience after we'd even gone to the extent of contacting various tent spares places to no avail.

Super service, excellent products!
I needed assistance to locate the items I wanted to purchase and found Sue. She was friendly, cheerful and found everything I wanted quickly. Sue even came to the till to make sure everything was in order. I cannot speak more highly of the care she showed us. Thanks Sue.

Whilst visiting go outdoors in Wigan yesterday evening we were obviously confused on which waterproof jacket to buy for my wife, we resorted to the idea of higher price better jacket, a lady who works there came over and explained everything we didn’t know and gave us her time to explain options for various other garments,
Her name is Wendy and normally I wouldn’t write a review but she was so so helpful I wanted to highlight how informed she was on all things we looked at, with her help we bought the best for us and not the most expensive, Wendy is a credit to the company

After receiving a damaged item online I only noticed the damage when I was on holiday camping so I couldn’t return it online by post after ringing the Wigan branch they had one in stock and put it to one side for me Zoe was so helpful and two days later we went to change it and Zoe remembered us we got a replacement and returned to continue our holiday we can’t thank Zoe enough for her help
