You can only review your own experiences, first time I have used these and after eventually finding the bike we were looking for in this crazy time to try and buy a bike, 🙄 the purchase was easy and quick. A small 24hr delay from fedex but really happy with the bike. Thanks

Second time I have had a negative experience in this place. Unwelcoming and rude. Sorry I’m not an expert on bikes gents, that’s the whole reason I came to your shop! Really wanted to support my local bike shop but instead I found myself spending my money in Halfords round the corner - I wonder how many other people have done that. Just think all that extra money might actually put a smile on your faces, but instead I’m filling the pockets of a multi million pound company.

Ordered a bike on line, and received it 3 days later. Well wrapped, delivered quickly and in excellent condition, particularly as it was exdemo. Very happy!

They took the money immediately, but no bike-delivery and no communication for weeks. A bike was finally delivered (more than a month later), but the size was wrong (L instead of XL). The shop even tried to cover it up by placing a XL-sticker on a size L frame…that’s a criminal act… No response from Hargreaves Cycles by email. They just ignore you.

Purchased a ex demo cannondale at a cost of £2200 , the bike was hanging, looked like it had been demo’d for 10000 miles with no service, chain, chainrings and cassette knackered , even disc pads were worn to metal, didn’t reply to emails, took weeks to get my money back!! Avoid like the plague!!

Shocking service, happy to take your money then ignore you and have no interest in sorting issues. One shop to be avoided

Ordered a bike from their clearance stock. Email communication was swift, bike arrived as described and was delivered by courier within 24hrs of the order being processed.

The bike is not shop soiled it is extensively used with a few badly replaced new parts. Do not buy from this retailer, they will not acknowledge any communication. I will be taking them to the small claims court.

Thought id share my experience with Hargreaves

Purchased a Soiled mountain bike from this retailer which clearly says on web page ‘full warranty on soiled bikes’. To keep it short after 4mths i noticed the frame cracked so sent it back to Hargreaves who told me they would send it back to manufacturer. After a couple of weeks i asked for an update. Michael emailed me to say “the bike is back with manufacturer” he’ll get an update after the weekend. After still asking and getting no replys from Hargreaves I contacted the manufacturer direct. Brilliantly they emailed near enough straight away but what they emailed was shocking. They told me they were of the crack but the bike is not with them infact it had never been sent to them at all. They also informed me that because the bike is an ex demo bike the warranty is void so they would not be replacing the frame either way. Iv tried on countless occasions to have a conversation about this but if i ring i just get ‘oh so-so dealing with this he’ll call you monday’ (calls never returned) or if i email i do not even get a reply. So iv had to ring the finance company to explain the situation of me being ignored who have had to cancel it from there side so i can get refund.

Terrible retailer

Just to confirm like so many of the reviews of this company out there, that my experience is equally poor.

I requested pictures of some of their ‘shop soiled’ bikes and they never arrived. I phoned 3 times to follow up and got either a hung up phone or a brusque bloke who clearly couldn’t be bothered with customers who brushed me off. I was prepared to buy but have obviously gone elsewhere. Avoid like the plague even if you expect the minimum of customer service.

Horrendous after sales. No response to emails when asking about an issue with the purchased bike. I would avoid in the future and use a bike shop that appreciates and communicates with its customers.

E mailed this company to ask about a bicycle which they were advertising for sale, at a price of over £2000.
Did not even reply
