Concern around transparency of communication
This is my first ever trust pilot review as, whilst I support the aims Hormona states it is trying to achieve, the reality is a lack of transparency during the order process. Given the costs involved with hormone testing, and time sensitivities involved with this process, I feel other women should know so they can make an informed decision before proceeding.
I ordered the hormone test kit which pairs with the app. I ordered this online and received a confirmation email that the test kit was being prepared for shipping. I subsequently received an order update stating that I had ordered ‘preorder items’, with no information on timescales. I raised this with their team and they eventually responded, acknowledging the website and check-out process was incorrect. Despite stating they would correct this, the website has still not been updated for others. For others looking to order the test kits, these are pre-order without an exact date for dispatch. Unfortunately this shows a lack of transparency, especially given that many people will be booking this test at an anxious time or because of eg complications that are time sensitive.
Additionally, taking customer’s money without the preorder being clear from the outset erodes trust before the process has even begun.
I would have understood if, after the initial confirmation email, Hormona had followed up saying eg ‘I’m sorry we cannot fulfil the order at this time due to xyz and expect to be able to deliver your test on xyz, we understand the time sensitivities around these tests and if this doesn’t work for you… etc’. We all make mistakes and that would have felt honest. Calling it a pre-order retrospectively did not.
I really wanted this to live up to the messaging and marketing, but sadly there’s a risk it is another start-up exploiting women’s anxiety around these issues. I hope in time I am proved wrong.
