Afternoon Tea??
What should have been a nice wee treat for my Mum was a disappointment.
Mum & I have frequented here before and really enjoyed our afternoon tea's. Today however really disappointed us both. On arrival we received a pleasent enough reception, we were told our afternoon tea would be held upstairs. On arrival upstairs the young chap greeted us. I explained we were early he did however promptly find us a table. Kindly he took our coats. We were asked if we wanted water, it took a while to come. We did however get asked if we wanted anything to drink, they didn't take long to come. Eventually our Amuse bouche came it was OK. When our sandwiches, scones and cakes eventually came we were then asked did we want coffee. Mum &I both said cappuccino. It was cold when it came plus we had to ask for sugar. By the time the sugar came to the table we had to ask for fresh coffees. What should have been a lovely afternoon was just a disappointment. There was a woman not to far away from us who continously coughed, not even covering her mouth, also her grandson was loud. After our tea, we proceeded to the bar downstairs and had a drink there. It was lovely, quiet more like Mum and I was looking for. It had a nice atmosphere and we felt more relaxed, less tense. The lovely touch Mum received was a wee box with a few chocolates for her birthday. The staff were all lovely, sandwiches ok, scones were lovely 😍. Yeah the visit the year before was great. The afternoon tea was nicer, it was downstairs, the atmosphere was better. Why change it. Shame

Good experience using Itison
I had been looking at the deal for a while and decided to finally book it. Used this deal before, it’s a really lovely hotel and a great location. Looking forward to going. As for booking and paying for it, everything went well and I received my voucher/QR code for my deal and booked online there and then through a link on Itison. Very easy and no fuss. Very pleased with my experience.😀
