Excellent and efficient service

Andrew Bevan is absolutely first class. I was very happy with his advice.

Probate matters very poorly handled. As joint excecutor on my mother in law's estate I thankfully took the initiative to close accounts etc and produce the accounts for the estate . The lawyer I was dealing with was relatively inexperienced and made number of mistakes, was not proactive and lacked a lot of common sense that the resulted in the estate being would up far slower than expected. Also redid the accounts in a different format which was completely unneccesary as I have experience at winding up two other estates in the last few years. I did about 75% of the work and the fees charged in my view were extortionate compared to what other lawyers have charged for similar work where I have been an executor. I challenged this and got no reply which says it all!

Very unprofessional,shocking communication and every time you need to speak to your solicitor obout somthing there “working from home”,the procedure for buying or selling anything is so slow it’s painful.will never use again.

From initial start of the process the service recieved was outstanding..clear and effective communication and extremely helpful.

My employment circumstances changed very suddenly and I required legal advice to review a redundancy settlement over a very tight timescale. Greatly appreciated the recent work with Rob Newby and assistant Rachel (wills and probates). We had complex issues with a family trust and had tight deadlines. Wills and probate to take 3 years to settle my parents estate. No fixed fee but the bill is based on time taken. Gareth Day unorganised and false promises and described to me as a Swan (elegant and sophisticated on the surface but below the water line unorganised and almost out of control). Opening letter from the firm gave timelines to settle the estate of 6 to 12 months, probate came back after 6 months which is normal but Gareth’s work took a further 2.5 years to complete, lost paperwork, signatures for investments requested multiple times and false promises. Be very careful when choosing your solicitors for such an emotional event in your life. I would not recommend.

I had a very disappointing experience with this conveyancing firm. The solicitor handling my case was unprofessional, uncommunicative, and generally unhelpful throughout the process.

I would not use this firm again and would not feel confident recommending them to others.

It as taken a solicitor three years to sort out two relatives Wills at this company in Retford. I am no expert, but, i am sure it shouldn't have taken this long to sort! It took another solicitor approx' six MONTHS to sort two Wills/Probate out so why it took so long with our cases, i don't know! On a house sale, we didn't receive any correspondence from the conveyancer to keep us Updated Until i contacted them! Surely it is not down to the grieving clients to Push for a closure but we Had to because it took too long! It is okay doing a Will with them but when people are grieving They need it sorting has soon as possible, not eighteen months later!
From a unhappy ex client that will not be Recommending this Company to Anybody!!!

If I could give a higher rating I would! I dealt with Will Jones regarding a probate dispute. For obvious reasons it was a very sensitive subject, but Will made the process as smooth as it possibly could be, and guided me every step of the way. He was very welcoming and easy to talk to, he got us to a positive outcome and I couldn’t be more grateful. Communication was brilliant and timely, I would definitely recommend the firm and highly recommend Will!

If there were no stars to give I would. Telephoned today after receiving some paperwork about their costs as I felt they have misunderstood what I needed help with. Receptionist was very curt and rude and put me on hold while I was talking! When I said I wasn't happy with their explanation and felt the fees to be excessive and unclear I was told I can collect the papers I had left and go to another solicitor. I will collect said papers on Monday. Have a good weekend.

Our house sale was emotionally difficult as we were selling our parents home following their deaths. There were also added complications. Everyone we communicated with were friendly, polite and helpful and kept us updated with what was going on. Would definitely use again! A big thank you to all the staff.
