Great way to explore Edinburgh and meet interesting people
The school is in a beautiful building in the city centre of Edinburgh. Good for sightseeing around the city and easy to get there with public transport. The student service team is extremely friendly and supportive and make you feel welcome at all times. Also the teachers are doing a great job and make the lessons fun and interactive. Really great experience and totally recommend going to Kaplan.

Une expérience parfaite.
Je suis parti 3 semaines à Edimbourg et ai suivi des cours d'anglais avec Kaplan. L'expérience avec cet organisme a été pour moi une réussite du DÉBUT à la FIN. Non seulement l'accompagnement de l'organisation a été d'une grande précision, notamment celui de Chloé Quinitin qui a montré une très bonne réactivité et un suivi plus que parfaits concernant mes demandes et mon séjour en général. Comme beaucoup je pense, j'étais très anxieux à l'idée de me retrouver seul dans l'inconnu, mais grâce à Kaplan, toutes mes contrariétés se sont envolées et ce séjour a finalement été très enrichissant. Je recommande vivement Kaplan pour partir en séjour linguistique, c'est selon moi la solution pour une expérience 100% réussite.

Unexpectedly gorgeous
I really appreciated this experience because it gave me a lot of self-confidence, as it was the first time I'd been alone away from home for a long period. The school was like a second home where I was able to meet lots of new friends from all over the world while learning English.

MASSIMA DISORGANIZZAZIONE
PESSIMA ORGANIZZAZIONE!ti garantiscono divisione per età e per nazionalità ( massimo 3 persone della stessa nazionalità) e poi ti ritrovi in classe anche 7 connazionali. Non ti dividono per livelli, per mancanza di insegnanti ( in agosto mischiano le classi… a2,b1,b2 tutti insieme)
Dal momento in cui paghi , magicamente il tuo referente si licenza, e quindi non sei più seguita. Non ti seguono nella crescita di livello, e non ti fanno neanche un test finale per capire se hai realmente appreso qualcosa.( e non parliamo del residence sporco e disordinato) ho frequentato altre scuole all’estero, e non mi era mai capitata un esperienza così pessima.
Per il costo che ha questa scuola , la sconsiglio vivamente.

ci dispiace che la tua esperienza nella nostra scuola ti abbia deluso e che tu non sia soddisfatta di come la situazione è stata gestita, nonostante il nostro team si sia attivato fin da subito per cercare di risolvere le criticità segnalate.
Per quanto riguarda l’alloggio, dopo che ci hai comunicato il desiderio di essere spostata in una stanza più luminosa e a un piano più alto, abbiamo contattato l’accommodation manager per verificare la possibilità di soddisfare la tua richiesta. Purtroppo, trattandosi di un periodo di alta stagione, non è stato possibile assegnarti un’altra camera per motivi di disponibilità.
In merito alla classe, non è stato possibile effettuare uno spostamento poiché il livello successivo sarebbe risultato troppo avanzato. I nostri insegnanti sono comunque sempre disponibili a fornire supporto e feedback agli studenti e monitorano costantemente i progressi attraverso verifiche settimanali. Questo permette di offrire indicazioni personalizzate sulle aree da migliorare e di far avanzare gli studenti di livello quando sono pronti.
Desideriamo infine informarti che i tuoi commenti sono stati condivisi con il nostro staff, poiché per noi è fondamentale che tutti gli studenti possano vivere la migliore esperienza possibile.
La Kaplan è una loggia massonica ?
La scuola ha esternalizzato tutti i servizi alla persona, quindi i problemi inerenti le famiglie o lo studentato li si deve risolvere mandando delle mail, con problemi enormi. La scuola è molto male organizzata e non consiglio a nessuno di andarci. Guido gruppi con le vacanze studio da circa 30 anni, è stata la mia esperienza peggiore, dove le cose sono andate bene grazie al lavoro enorme dei docenti accompagnatori. Confermo anche che siamo dovuti andare in classe in quando una docente non era in grado di tenere la disciplina. Gli insegnanti non sono tutti madrelingua, sono bravi in ogni caso. La scuola non ha nessun senso di ospitalità né flessibilità alcuna. Pessima.

ci dispiace sinceramente che la tua esperienza nella nostra scuola non sia stata all’altezza delle aspettative e che tu non sia soddisfatta di come la situazione è stata gestita. Ci impegniamo ogni giorno a garantire elevati standard di servizio clienti e di qualità accademica, ma in questo caso riconosciamo di non essere riusciti a raggiungere l’obiettivo.
Il nostro agente ha cercato di offrirti supporto e di risolvere il problema nel modo più tempestivo possibile; tuttavia, si è trattato di una situazione fuori dall’ordinario. Siamo invece lieti di sapere che la qualità dell’insegnamento sia stata apprezzata, ma ci dispiace molto che non vi siate sentiti adeguatamente accolti dal nostro staff.
Ci aspettiamo sempre il massimo livello di professionalità dal nostro personale e desideriamo rassicurarti che i tuoi commenti sono stati condivisi con il team, affinché situazioni simili non si ripetano. Il feedback dei nostri studenti è fondamentale per continuare a migliorare e offrire a tutti la migliore esperienza possibile.
Bene ma non benissimo
Avevo aspettative molto alte su questa acuola internazionale, molte sono state disattese.
Intanto la formazione delle classi: mi era stato garantito che l'ambiente sarebbe stato misto over 30 (io ne ho 42) e invece il 90% degli studenti è nella fascia 17/25 imbarazzante. Superato questo, ho trovato il primo insegnante davvero incapace di gestire un gruppo misto con diversi livelli di inglese (io ero stata inserita inizialmente in un intermedio ma poi ho chiesto lo spostamento per intermedio low dove ho trovato un'insegnante migliore sicuramente ma con un programma un po' lento.. a tratti stimolante). In ultimo la pulizia degli ambienti davvero scadente negli spazi comuni, compresi i bagni, e nelle aule. Piccolo spoiler: se andate nei prossimi anni sarete attanagliati ancora dai rumori della costruzione dell'edificio adiacente, insopportabile per svolgere una regolare lezione. Considerando che non si può stare con la finestra chiusa in estate perché fa caldo e non ci sono i condizionatori ma solo una stufetta che spara aria fredda, tipo ventilatore.
La delusione c'è.

Regarding the 30+ program composition, we understand your frustration about the age demographics not matching what you were expecting. Class composition can vary throughout the year depending on enrollment patterns.
We're sorry to hear about your initial experience with class management in the intermediate level. We're glad that the move to lower intermediate provided you with a better teacher, though we understand the pacing wasn't always ideal for you. Balancing mixed-ability groups is challenging, and your feedback will help us review our teaching approaches.
Your concerns about cleanliness in common areas, bathrooms, and classrooms are taken seriously. We maintain cleaning schedules for all areas, but clearly we need to review and improve our standards based on your observations.
Regarding the construction noise and temperature control, we acknowledge these environmental factors significantly impacted your learning experience. The unavoidable external noise creates a difficult situation, however these are factors beyond our immediate control.

i studied for 3 weeks and for what i’ve paid it was not worth it.
first of all they sent me and my friend (who was with me) the schedule 2 days before the departure instead of a lot earlier, and we were put in the afternoon classes. We had all our activities booked in the afternoon, so we then changed from pm to am for the other two weeks but it cost us 40£. for the rest, the teachers are not that good for a school this popular and the activities were not what i expected from an Advanced level class.
i wanted to give one star but the japanese lady who works in the cafeteria was lovely, so i added one for her.
i won’t recommend this school.

All students receive their timetables the Friday before their course begins Regarding the afternoon class placement, students are assigned to morning or afternoon sessions based on their level and availability unless a morning guarantee is included in the booking. Our AM guarantee charges are mentioned while enrolment, this additional charge ensures a student is only placed in morning classes.
Our teachers are qualified professionals, but we recognize that teaching styles and course delivery can vary. Your feedback about the classroom activities not meeting your expectations for an advanced class is valuable, and we'll review our curriculum to ensure it appropriately challenges students at all levels.

My experience was really short, just a week. However, the two teachers I met were really good, although one of them is not a native speaker.

International classes: students from various countries
Some cons
I was first in a class of 17 (seventeen !!) people, all at least 35 years younger than me. When I asked to be moved, I got into a more mixed class, lower level though, but always 17 people!!!
Family: they didn't really care about me; I always ate alone, had and made my breakfast alone, they spoke a really peculiar language (some sort of English mixed with possibly some slang or dialectal words) I could not always understand.

Utilità delle lezioni
Ho trovato gli insegnanti e lo staff di Kaplan gentili e disponibili. Le lezioni di inglese sono state molto utili in quanto comprendevano parti di listening, speaking e grammar. Inoltre ho apprezzato che l'insegnante che ho avuto, alla fine di ogni settimana chiedeva alla classe che argomento avrebbero voluto toccare la settimana successiva.
