Absolutely rubbish service

Absolutely rubbish service. The car was a BMW M Sport (YK18 SKB). They lied about the condition of the car and there was a lot of miscommunication.

I called them to book a test drive, and they told me to come the following day. Before leaving home the next day, I called again to confirm, and they said, “Yes, come for the test drive.” However, when I arrived, they told me the car was not there because it had been taken for its “MOT”. They should have informed me before I made the 45 minute journey.

They then offered to deliver the car to my house. Since I couldn’t inspect it myself, I specifically asked if there were any mechanical or cosmetic issues. They assured me that the car was in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition and said that if there were any issues, they would be identified during the MOT. They also told me the tyres were in perfect condition and almost new.

I trusted them. On Auto Trader, where I first found the car, they had advertised it as being in excellent condition. I even screen-recorded the advertisement as evidence. Based on their assurances, I paid the full amount before receiving the car.

The next day, after the car was delivered, I noticed knocking noises while driving, so I took it to a garage for a full inspection. The mechanic found the following serious issues:

* The timing belt was in extremely poor condition and was close to snapping. The mechanic advised that the car should not even be driven back to the dealership.
* There was a severe oil leak. I have photos showing the oil leaking where the car was parked.
* The exhaust flex pipe was broken.
* The exhaust bracket/hanger was missing.
* When the diagnostic computer was connected, multiple dashboard fault codes reappeared, indicating that the dealership had cleared the fault codes before delivering the car to hide the existing problems.

The most unbelievable part is that they even gave me the MOT certificate with the car. I bought the vehicle on 30 May, yet the MOT certificate they provided was due to expire in June just days later. It’s astonishing that they thought this was acceptable. They had claimed the car was away for an MOT when I went for the test drive, but then handed me a certificate that was about to expire. That alone raises serious questions about their honesty and professionalism.

This vehicle was clearly not in the condition they advertised or promised over the phone. I feel completely misled and would strongly advise others to avoid this dealership.

Very disappointing experience with this…

Very disappointing experience with this dealership after they won my car on Motorway. The car was advertised with two scratches, but before collection I had the car professionally polished and the scratches were gone.

When they came to inspect and collect the car, they tried to knock £2,000 off the agreed price because there was some old oil residue underneath near the gearbox. I explained clearly that I had recently changed the gearbox oil and the residue was old, but they still used it as an excuse to massively reduce the price. It honestly felt embarrassing and very unreasonable.

The whole experience seemed like they were just looking for any excuse to chip away at the agreed value with ridiculous deductions. I would never recommend selling your car through this dealership.

Only positive thing I can say is that the driver himself was alright and polite.

Negative Review for Lindale Motors

I had a frustrating experience with Lindale Motors while trying to purchase a Nissan Juke for my mother. Initially, the car seemed like a good fit, but our lack of mechanical knowledge made us hesitant. The staff pressured us to make a quick decision, threatening that the price would increase if we didn’t act fast. We eventually decided to proceed, paying a deposit, with the understanding that the garage would conduct a full service on the car before we picked it up two weeks later.

Three days before the scheduled pickup, I called to confirm the service had been completed and to arrange a collection time. I was informed that the car was still with the mechanic but would be ready on the agreed date. However, when I called on the collection day to say I was on my way, I was told the car hadn’t even been picked up yet, and I would need to wait for another call to reschedule.

Since then, I've been calling daily, only to be met with excuses. They mentioned the mechanic had gone on holiday without notifying anyone, and promised updates that never came. After more than a week of this, they finally offered a refund of my deposit because they still couldn’t get in touch with the garage.

This whole experience has been incredibly disappointing. We lost out on other car options while waiting on this deal, and it feels like they may have sold the car to someone else at a higher price. I wouldn’t recommend Lindale Motors based on this experience. They’ve wasted my time and created unnecessary stress.
