After completing a generic on line form to search for an IFA in my area, I received a 'phone call from this company asking for more details. I was then asked to hold on while they located and made an appointment with, the most suitable provider.
The call eventually continued with confirmation that an IFA from Cooper Associates would meet wth me at my home on 15/10/2026. As I was assured that an e-mail would follow confirming all these details, I did not record the IFA's name.
By12/10/2026, I still hadn't received the promised e-mail and so I called Coopers directly to confirm that the appointment had been confirmed, and to obtain the name of the IFA. However, I was told that, as the appoiment had been arranged by a "third party" Coopers were not permitted to e-mail me direct, but they promised to contact Local financial and ask them to resend the promised e-mail immediately.
By the afternooon of 13/10/2026, I had still received no e-mail and so I called Coopers again and they confirmed that they had definitely contacted Localfinancial and asked them to e-mail me urgently. As it seemed they had still not done this, . Coopers did confirm the details of the meeting on 15/10/2026 and also the name of the IFA.
On the 14/10/2026, I receive a call from Localfinancial to remind me of the imminent appointment. I confirmed that I was aware of, prepared for, the meeting, but no thanks to them! They claimed that they had sent an e-mail but I always check my spam folders and I definitely received nothing from them.
I would have preferred to deal directly with the provider and I think that the on line form which I completed should make it clear that the response will come from a Broker.
As Local Financial have replied stating that they appreciate feedback, maybe I should add that I expained that I was seeking a new provider for my SIPP - and I have since learned that Cooper Associates don't even deal with SIPPs! So much for connecting me with the most suitable provider!

Spoke to Lewis on the phone, he was very friendly and introduced me to the service.
He explained how everything worked in detail and asked me a number of relevant questions. He was able to recommend and book a local Financial Adviser there and then. Brilliant customer service, would recommend.

My request was dealt with very efficiently and I liked the way it was read back to me to ensure the important points were captured.

I would recommend this service to everyone. Genuinely, so pleasantly surprised that a free advisory service could be so professional and effective. My advisor phoned when he said he would, understood my specific queries and referred me immediately to a financial advisor who specialises in the specific pension about which I was enquiring.
