I purchased a small washable rug and what should have been a simple, “no hassle” return became a major ordeal.
After nearly 2 hours in chat with customer support, I was told the rug had to be picked up because it was fulfilled by a third-party vendor. Fine—that pickup was eventually scheduled and completed.
Here’s where things completely broke down:
No refund was issued
No record of the pickup or return appeared in my account after 10 days
Another long, frustrating chat session confirmed I was entitled to a refund—but it had never been processed
The only reason I was able to move this forward was because I saved the pickup ticket, which was the only proof this return even happened.
The issue then had to be escalated to another department (IT), who finally initiated the refund. I was told I would receive an email confirmation and that the refund would be processed within 7–10 additional business days.
That email never came. The refund still hasn’t been issued.
This is not just poor service—it’s a systemic failure across ordering, fulfillment, and refund processing.
My advice: don’t buy anything from Lowe’s online. If something goes wrong, expect long delays, poor communication, and no accountability.

Use caution when ordering appliances online from Lowe's! We bought a new home, and decided to go through Lowe's for "new" appliances. We got a gas range stove, and a dual door fridge. Which came out to around $2500, we got the delivery option since it was free with the order. Took off work to be at the house when delivery drivers were scheduled to deliver, they got to the house. Both were rushing to unload, and we're not by any means gentle when bringing in the appliances. Brought the appliances in, slapped the drawers in the refrigerator and were out the door. Didn't even bother to remove all the plastic and tape out of refrigerator, after looking over the appliances. I found several chips in the paint and a dent on the stove, the refrigerator at first looked to be okay. They scheduled to exchange the stove, so we didn't bother messing with setting the appliances into place. After a couple days, I was moving the appliances around to move them where they were out of the way. I noticed two big dents on each side of the refrigerator, which weren't noticed when we got the fridge as it was on the side and fridege side was black making it hard to see unless you were looking down the side of the fridge. Called Lowe's after a second driver came out to exchange the stove, and mentioned they would discount the appliances for damaged. He stated the damage on the fridge was clearly from the warehouse were they grab the appliances with fork lifts, talked to customer service about a discount. They offered at first a 20 dollar gift card to Lowe's, then 50, then 70, and final offer of 100. Which I was pretty upset by this time cause each time it was a 15 minute wait on the phone in between. They stated they would exchange the stove, but the fridge would not be exchanged due to being outside the 48 hour window... go figure! So now we are stuck with a $1500 dollar fridge that was clearly damaged from the warehouse, which even the delivery driver from the company stated this!and they will do nothing to make it right. I would not buy any appliances through Lowe's, as they do not care for customer satisfaction and standing behind there products. I will never do any business with this company again, beware and buy at your own risk.

I would truly give one star if I could. I ordered a dishwasher. Three days later I cancelled that order as a tech was able to revive my current one. I followed the cancelation instructions per the email I got when I ordered it. I got an confirmation email that it was cancelled. Then, today I get a call from the installer that he's on his way with my dishwasher. The store calls me, rudely tells me this order has not been cancelled and they have no idea what I'm referring to with my email. I explained myself again and she again tells me she can cancel the install but not the product as the tech had picked it up....I said, should I dispute this with american express, not understanding what she was saying, as I do not have the dishwasher in my possession. She tells me there is no need to be hostile! I will NEVER buy another thing from Lowes. TERRIBLE staff...

I cancelled an Installation Sales agreement with Lowe's Ormond Beach, FL store by following all of the requirements of my contract. Lowe's was supposed to issue refund check within 10 days. Instead, they issued a partial refund, in the form of store credit cards and compounded their error by shipping those to the wrong address via FedEx. Now they are further delaying the refund as they try to sort out their internal errors. I should not be penalized by having to wait for my $8K+ refund because of Lowe's collective inefficiency and obvious lack of training on their own internal procedures. They are in violation of their contract: I have notified the Better Business Bureau and will post a similar negative review on other sites as appropriate.

I had a washer and dryer delivered to my mother's house in Virginia. I am in North carolina. The communication was the poorest communication and the worst customer service ever. They want you to communicate with AI and did not give a specific time of when they were going to be at the house for me to have someone there to sign that the items were delivered. I like Lowe's but they're delivery service is the worst ever!!

Worst Customer Service. Ordered 2 items that showed available for delivery next day. One item showed up, the second did not. Should have been on the same truck. When I asked , I was told that it was coming on a different truck a little later that same afternoon. That evening after 5pm I checked my order status... delivery is now scheduled for tomorrow. I called the NORFOLK VA #1065 store to ask where my item was. The CS told me it was not her problem... that they use a 3rd party delivery group out of Richmond and they could do nothing about it. When I asked for more info, she hung up on me.
Frustrated to say the least.
Status on the website showed my item would be delivered between 2 - 6 pm. At 7:30 I called the NORFOLK VA STORE #1065. After listening to the phone ring for over 10 min someone finally answered. I explained I was missing an item that was supposed to be delivered by now. I gave the order # and was told they could not give me status because the Transport Mgr had left for the day. Apparently no one else has the magical keys to the Transport Kingdom. When I asked to speak to the STORE #1065 manager on duty, I was told they don't have one.... she goes home at 5pm. When I asked to cancel the order, the CS said she couldn't figure out how to do that . I asked again for a Manager....she hung up on me.
Over the last year I would estimate that our family may have spent more than $7,000 in the Lowes of my area for various projects. Bathroom replacements, new metal fence for the backyard, appliances, landscaping products.....a lot of different stuff. Little concerns always happen.... crooked boards... a couple of bags of already hardened concrete...slightly bent metal fence gate.....short count on mulch bags.... all little annoying but not deal breakers. But this total disregard for any form of Customer Service or satisfaction is a deal breaker for sure. Why would I keep spending my hard earned cash with a company that doesn't care to make sure their customers are treated fairly or with a little dignity?
Delivery - total disregard for costumer time
I bought a washer dryer set, and had to seperately buy the installation and a bunch of parts that they needed for the installation. It was over a week before they could come instal it, and they never gave me an option of days or times.
So I have to take a full day off work to wait around for them, the timeframe window is 8am to 8pm. They arrive around 1:30 and as soon as the guy sees the space he says they can't install it because I need to buy a "stacking kit." I have literally already bought a stacking washer and dryer and paid for installation for the stacking washer and dryer. But apparently I needed to separately buy the stacking kit. So they leave and tell me someone will call me. Someone calls me and just tells me I need to go buy a stacking kit and call them back to reschedule once I have it. No they can't add it to my order, no they don't know what kind of stacking kit I need. There's a Lowes 10 minutes from me so I go get a stacking kit and call them back.
This series of phone calls turns into the rest of my afternoon, waiting on hold, being told to call a different number, waiting on hold there, being told someone will call me back, nobody ever calling me back, calling again, being told they can't come back and deliver it but to call another number to reschedule, calling that number, waiting on hold, finally talking to someone but they can't contact the guys in the truck with my washer and dryer, they can only schedule me for another week from now where I'll have to take another full day off work and do all of this all over again, and in the meantime I won't have been able to do laundry for half the month.

DO NOT buy from Lowes. We bought a washer from there and has not even been a year and have been getting the run around. They should have told us in the beginning to contact whirlpool for service but they failed. They had a third party company come out twice and could not fix it. So they sent one of their techs and STILL CAN NOT FIX IT!!!! They are refusing to exchange it for another washer. It has been over A MONTH since we are out of a washer. Save your money and go with someone else.

Unethical and incompetent.
After a deadly break-in at my house, I was convinced to buy two doors for $14,000.
First, the salesman misrepresented the doors
Then the installation was delayed for months, using dishonest excuses.
The doors arrived at the store finally and we’re never inspected.
The installers came to my house and tore out my doors before they ever looked at the new doors. That’s when they discovered they were riddled with defects and didn’t even match each other or my order but they were forced to partially install them. Otherwise I would’ve had two giant openings with no doors.
They refused to complete the installation saying the doors were garbage and would have to be torn out as soon as possible.
Besides the obvious cosmetic defects, the locks on both doors were defective and do not operate properly.
Lowe’s refuses to take responsibility for anything and despite the credit card bank refunding my money twice they demanded I pay in full or they would assess huge amounts of interest so I was forced to pay even though my house looks like a dump.
Lowe’s does nothing but stall to keep my money. I said I would exchange for other doors that were suitable, but they did not have anything so they just keep telling me I’m stuck with what I have or they can attempt to repair them which is worthless.
So after being traumatized by a deadly break-in and then again by Lowe’s dishonest business practices, I am out $14,000 and my house is a mess and feels unsafe.
This is not how a billion dollar corporation should treat a good 78-year-old customer.
My advice to any customer is do not trust Lowe’s or their installers to do any work on your house.
Lowe’s is dishonest
My wife & I went to Lowe’s and picked out all new kitchen appliances, we were told all the pieces were in stock. When we went to the service desk to pay over $6000 is when we were in formed that one of the appliances would delay the order for three weeks.
The delivery date was on a Friday, the delivery arrived, the delivery men left, then my wife noticed that the refrigerator had somebody else’s name on I the box.
She immediately called the delivery driver’s phone. He didn’t answer. She left a message to tell him we had the wrong refrigerator. He never called back.
Customer service was offshore sourced & spoke poor English & were no help. They said they could send a replacement refrigerator in four weeks.
After numerous phone calls, plus visits to the store we were told that they would pick up the wrong refrigerator that they had delivered & bring us the one we ordered. Three days & not one word.
I have spent somewhere near $50,000 with Lowe’s over 25 years & now I will never leave a dime in that
Sorry excuse for a home improvement store again.

I bought a new GE combination washer/dryer from Lowe's a few weeks back. Wasn't aware they only give you 48 hours to return it, so that window passed before I even got it out of the box as we are remodeling the laundry room. Ridiculous policy. The website was absolutely no help whatsoever to try and return it and only then did I see the return policy was 48 hours. So now I am out $2,139 on a boat anchor. I will try GE possibly they can help, but as far as Lowe's is concerned - zero help - I will never purchase from Lowe's again. Menards and Home Depot here I come. I realize as one single customer Lowe's could care less, but at least I can have my say here. This appliance spins so hard it walks it's 250 pounds all the way across the floor until it runs out of the water hose length. It actually walked one load against the dryer gas valve and the house filled with natural gas. We were lucky we didn't have a catastrophe there as I was able to shove it away with great effort and turn the valve off, but we had to open the house it was so bad. The dryer doesn't even turn on as part of the cycle we have to go in the controls and start the dry cycle separately. Not what we were told. It takes two to three dry cycles to actually dry. Two laundry loads = 6 hours of running this thing. Controls are not very intuitive. Heavy as hell don't know how you are supposed to get this onto the pedestal. Worst appliance I have ever purchased and now it's a two-thousand-dollar WASTE OF MONEY. Lowe's sales associates need to be better trained and transparent on their policies as they don't get shared apparently or else you sign away you know these things in very fine print. Bottom line I never expected Lowe's would not honor returns on appliances customers find out do not perform. Bad appliance and bad customer care in my opinion.

I have shopped at Lowe's for 40 years as a contractor. I recently purchased some appliances for a rental. It was right after Christmas and the guy was really a good salesman and wanted us to open a card. I have never had a charge card with them, but my wife thought it sounded like a good idea...As a couple we have had credit cards at several retail stores, but apparently, Lowes has decided to have a daily interest rate on their charge card. We paid it off early and then got an additional $20.70 charged to us. When talking to 2 different associates, they say as of 2026 the rules have changed to be daily interest. So even though we paid it off early there is still a $2.00/day fee....I will never shop at Lowes again.

I ordered a bale of pine straw, Lowe's said they delivered it took a picture of my driveway empty and did not deliver my package. I've called them three times I've chatted with them twice on their app they keep telling me it's moved up to upper management said they would call me or ship it the very next day. They did not call they still have not called it's been two weeks they never delivered it. They said they delivery driver said the package was too big he could not fit it on his car but yet he still says he delivered it and took a picture of my empty driveway. Lowe's sucks! I will never in my life go back to Lowe's again and I will do my damnedest to stop anybody else from going there. That is just no way to run a company at all! I deliver for Fedex and if I did that I would get fired! Still have not heard from management I have not heard from anybody heck at this point I don't even know how to get my refund! I would not ever recommend anybody going to Lowe's.

back in March of 2025 I purchased 2 plum trees from Lowes I also purchased 2 plum trees and planted them on the same day March 2nd. Three weeks ago today I noticed that the plum trees were not blooming I went up to Lowes and told them my problem and they told me that because we were 15 days past the year warranty there was nothing they could do. Common sense tells you that the tree didn't die in 15 day it was already dead.I know that fruit trees bloom in the spring which is March and April which is why we waited to see if they would bloom.I feel that lowes tree policy is so unfair to the customer.Nobody buys then plants a tree thinking it will die and you will have to dig up and replace it. It would have made no sense to dig up tree before spring .I have been a long time customer for Lowes but after all of this think will take my business elsewhere Beware of buying trees and bushes from Lowes.
Don't use Lowe's gift cards
Had a dishwasher improperly installed and as a result, plastic items melted inside. They replaced the dishwasher and issued a $100 gift card to replace the items after submitting photos and receipts. Used the gift card on 3 occasions and kept all receipts. Last week made a purchase using the gift card and was shocked to discover that it was short almost $57. I keep meticulous records of all receipts. Called to report and was asked to provide the invoice number, the transaction number, the gift card number on the back, etc. I was assured that an email would be sent within 48 hours with a resolution after they investigated. It wasn't so I called again. Found out it was never submitted so I had to provide all of the information again. Was told it would be resolved withing 48 hours. I am skeptical. Would like to warn other customers. DO NOT leave the store until you have verified with at least two cashiers the amount of the gift card. If you return an item using a gift card, make sure that they give you the same gift card. They issued a different gift card with a lesser amount. DON"T ASSUME that the correct amount is on the gift card. This was my first and last-time shopping at Lowe's. I can't believe how they treat their customers.
