Scammy pricing
I really wanted to like March14 and had actually planned to return, but unfortunately I was very disappointed with how the pricing was handled.
Before my appointment, I sent a photo of what I wanted and was quoted 470 AED + VAT for a manicure with a full custom nail design on natural nails.
At the appointment, the technician looked at my existing extensions, confirmed that none were broken or needed replacing, and told me she would simply do an infill. At no point was I told that the infill would be treated as an additional service costing 245 AED + VAT. I only became aware of this charge when I went to pay, after the service had already been completed.
I contacted the salon afterwards to try to resolve the issue directly. They acknowledged that the technician had not expressly told me the price and explained that they generally do not mention the cost of upgrades during appointments unless the client specifically asks.
This was the part I found most disappointing. I was happy to follow the technician’s recommendation, but I believe clients should be told when a recommendation comes with a significant additional charge so they can decide whether they want to proceed.
I also want to clarify that I did not ask for a refund of my entire appointment. I was happy to pay the original quoted price and only requested a refund of the additional 245 AED + VAT charge that had not been disclosed to me beforehand.
I gave the salon an opportunity to resolve the issue directly because I otherwise enjoyed my experience and genuinely wanted to return. Unfortunately, we were unable to reach a resolution.
