Stay away from MDHearing!
I ordered a pair of MDHearing hearing aids but finally decided that they were not right for me, so I contacted MDHearing to tell them I wanted to return them (as they had assured me I could with no problems).
They tried to talk me out of that, but gave me the information I needed to return them, including information about what they called the "Worry-Free Ship Kit." I told them I would like the Worry-Free Ship Kit, but then heard nothing back from them.
So I just packed up the hearing aids as they instructed and sent them back via USPS. I told USPS that I wanted tracking and insurance of course, and USPS tracking told me that they delivered the package 2 days later.
Then, oddly, MDHearing emailed me that night to tell me that "Our records do not show that we have received and logged in your hearing aids." Why would they email me out of the blue to tell me that they had NOT received them? It made no sense. They would neither confirm nor deny delivery! Weird!
I contacted USPS and they confirmed delivery so I let MDHearing know that, but they continued to tell me that they could neither confirm nor deny delivery. It seemed to me that they were positioning themselves to deny delivery at some point.
They told me a couple of times that they routinely issued refunds in "a couple of days" but it has now been 3 WEEKS and I am still waiting for my refund!! I have heard NOTHING more from them.
I have reported this to both my credit card company and the Illinois Attorney General. Stay away from this company! They are sleazy shysters!
I don't understand the negative…
I don't understand the negative reviews. Ordering was easy, and shipping was quick. Their documentation and hand-holding were wonderful. Unfortunately, my bad ear is damaged beyond the ability of a hearing aid to help, and I had to return it. Yes, I paid for return postage (big deal), but the return was easy to do, and I received a full refund the day after they received it. I wish more companies were this good.
Questionable business practices
This company advertises in one of those “trusted” magazines that require a $20-50 subscription. The magazine targets seniors and only contains paid reviews.
My elderly family member called MD Hearing based on one of those fake “paid” reviews and ordered hearing aids and apparently some sort of extended warranty (the company rep insisted that it was a warranty direct from the company and not a “service plan”. I doubt it!)
I don’t know how they justify taking money over the phone from a 95 year old who cannot hear, but ok.
My relative had received the hearing aids but had not taken them out of their packaging. They reasonably could have marked the package “return to sender” and asked the mailman to take them. MD Hearing has the resources to schedule a ups, FedEx, usps pick up which I could understand paying for.
When I called them to set up a return for full refund, I was told that the postage fee to return them is $20+tax or my relative would be responsible for packaging, insuring, and taking them to the post office herself. No family members live nearby and she doesn’t drive, so we had to opt for the $20 fee. Hopefully they will actually return the money, but based on what we’ve seen so far, I’m prepared to have to fight for it.
Great Value - NEO XS Are Great Hearing Aids
First time getting hearing aids. The NEO XS is very well-engineered. They have a tidy and efficient charging module which is relatively quick. The fit is very good and does allow minor customization to fit your ears. The units themselves have four levels to accommodate different settings of background noise (i.e., quiet room to restaurant), each with 6 volume levels. I think they offer great value.
Aids worked sporadically
Aids worked sporadically. Had both aids replaced at least once, charger replaced 3 times? People were good to work with, however, products proved to be unreliable and inconsistent in performance.
Ridiculous return policy
Took the on line hearing test and bought the Neo XS hearing aids.
The hearing aids seemed to work fairly well and was on my way to adjusting to them. I thought I would go ahead and order extra hearing aid domes so I could change them out as needed.
Well, unfamiliar with hearing aids and accessories I accidently ordered the wrong size domes.
After realizing my mistake the following day I called to see if I could change my order from the large domes to the medium size.
They told me that the order was already i processing and could not be changed.So I asked if I could return them when they arrive and they told me accessories could not be returned. They told me they were considered medical devices and returning them was against the rules.
So let me get this straight; the domes are considered medical devices but the hearing aids themselves are not?
MD hearing offers a 45 day return policy for the hearing aids, but the accessories are not returnable?
Sounds a little ridiculous to me.
Anyway, I sent the hearing aids back for refund since they were unwilling to accommodate my need for exchange of the $17 domes
Sounds crazy huh?
Lose a $380 purchase over a pair of $17 domes.
But who am I to judge
NEO XS not up to par.
I got these to work fine at home where there is no background noise, but at work they wouldn't stop squealing. I tried all four programs, lowest volume level, all of the dome options. Still VERY annoying squealing in the ear. Customer service said feedback is due to poor fit. Yes, I know that. Maybe you should have included more sizes of domes. Returning them.

I reached out to customer service after seeing a bad score on the BBB web site. They never responded to my message (see below) but sent me a “how was our response score card” instead. Well I rated them BAD! I will not/ would not buy from this company.

Couldn’t be happier!
My experience with MD Hearing has been very successful so far. Everything they have promised they have delivered on. The ordering process and the delivery time was as stated. When I received my Volt hearing aids I was informed both by Email and Text with helpful videos and expectations of using a hearing aid.The users manual has been precise and easy to understand. I have only been using them for 2 days but couldn’t be happier with this company.
My inside the ear units arrived Defective
My inside the ear units arrived defective right out of the box and I called immediately. No answer, put in call que but unable to take the return call later. Tried 3 more days (not weekend) 7 days later, 5 calls & 5 emails with NO RESPONSE I am told that even defective items I must pay return shipping if not replacing. Why would I order another poor quality product???? How is this fair??? Stay with brick and mortar unless you want to be paying for broken devices.
Worth it!
After my $5000 hearing aids stopped working I decided to try these. I got a rechargeable pair and love them. They sounds just as good, if not better, than my old pair. They were also really easy to use and I didn't have to drive to go get them.
Don't Believe Their Ads!!!
My mom bought some of these hearing aids and they weren't working for her. Every time I wrote them to say they didn't work, they just sent instructions on how to operate them. They make it very hard to get any sort of a refund!!! Also, it turned out they had been billing my elderly mom a monthly "service" fee. When I complained about it, I called someone on the phone and said I felt my mother was being taken advantage of. The "customer service rep" said "have a nice day" and hung up!!! Really. They ended up crediting us $10.38 for over $100 in service charges. Nothing for the hearing aids themselves, which are useless. Their product is sub-par and their customer service is even worse.
Run, don't walk, away!
When the hearing aids arrived, I was having health issues that prevented my going through the "testing." Once I recovered and started using the HAs, they did not seem to work well for me. The coordinator told me I had to use them for 21 days before I could return them. At the end of the period, I still didn't like them. Now I was told that, as I had passed the 45-day period in the fine print, I couldn't return them. So, thanks to the company's duplicity, I am out nearly $1500. Run, don't walk, away from them! (Anyway, you can get much better hearing aids at the same or lower price elsewhere--AmericaHears, for example.
I paid these folks 999.99$ for a pair…
I paid these folks 999.99$ for a pair of core aids. They stated it would work with my android phone. It did not. They also stated free return shipping. Not so. I had to pay for that along with tracking and insurance. The hearing aids did sound very good but it would not work with my android phone. Today they refunded all of my purchase price only not my return shipping. Byron Jackson🐣
