My experience with Steer in Dover, Kent was first class. Very quick turnaround with regular updates on the progress of my repair. Ladies in reception were very welcoming and polite and very helpful with the courtesy car. My repair is superb, very impressed..car looks brand new. My insurer sent my car to them after an accident. They promised a 3-week repair, but it took over 2 months. When I finally went to collect the car, they forced me to sign paperwork before even showing me the car. After the long wait, the car still wasn’t properly repaired, there still a loud abnormal noise from the engine.

The staff dismissed it as “wear and tear” on the exhaust, but I knew that wasn’t true. I had the car independently inspected, and it turned out the issue was two broken engine mounts, nothing to do with the exhaust and a completely different part of the car. They had sent my insurer a false report blaming the noise on wear and tear, and even lied that my independent garage was agreed with them (it wasn’t).

I was left with a faulty car and no support. It took ages to escalation to the Financial Ombudsman, who ruled in my favour. My insurer had to cover the proper repair and compensation.

They were dishonest, unprofessional, and evasive throughout. They shifted blame, misled my insurer, and showed no accountability. Absolutely appalling service, do not trust them with your vehicle.

I had my car repaired at this garage after another vehicle reversed into mine, causing a dent, scratches, and cracked paint above the rear wheel. The repairs were handled through insurance.

Initially, everything looked fine, but after just a month, the paint has started cracking again. It now seems like the garage only painted over the damage without properly fixing the surface underneath. This is disappointing, especially considering it was meant to be a professional insurance-approved repair.

I expected a lasting and high-quality job, not a quick cover-up. I would appreciate someone from the garage contacting me to discuss how this can be resolved properly.
