Gave me a quote for $3000+ to replace 1 No. broken roof tile. Nothing short of extorsion. Stay away from this shonky business. Would not even do a temporary patch for me, only just interested in ripping me off. Stay away! Came out did nothing, gave me an outrageous quote, took my money and went.

Warning ** We had a mob called upside down electrical, however I was charged by Jim's Plumbing Adelaide, come to my house to clean 4 aircons, the cost of the job was $4519 and was performed by another company called Mr Emergency, my brother organized and did not realise how much the cost was going to be as it was not clearly explained to him and he signed the acceptance without properly understanding or rechecking the amount, he thought the price was $451, but the final price was actually $4519. Upside Down Electrical had to return 3 times after they claimed the job was finished as the aircons were actually still very dirty and smelly. Even after 2 visits, the aircons were not even close to being clean and they smelled of mold, smell was so strong I could smell it when entering the room. This smell was far worse than before they were cleaned... After the third visit we finally have aircons that could be considered cleaned, not perfectly and not worth $1160 per aircons however, yes they are nowhere near perfectly cleaned.

They have also used a chemical to clean the aircon parts on my driveway, however the chemical has leached into the concrete and foams up when the concrete gets wet. I have video evidence, in 4k, showing the spreading of the chemical and me trying to clean it out using a hose. The video even shows the contractor throwing the one of the aircon covers and a piece breaking off. I am still waiting on a 4th visit to replace one of the aircon beauty cover, they even tried to blame me, until I took the contractor out to where the aircons were cleaned on my driveway and we found a couple of the broken bits still there.... And it is on video after all.

Do yourself a favor and do not use this company it is simply not worth the money spent as the job is simply not done correctly and you will be left with even more expense to clean up afterwards..

I have done a quick search for their ABN 43 609 870 046 and found what looks like hundreds of business names associated with this ABN...... They have another ABN 89 152 593 630 which shows some of the same business names.

I sent an email to Jim's Plumbing complaining about this service, I was informed that this company was NO LONGER a part of the Jim's Franchise group and had been expelled, no idea if this is true it's just was was conveyed to me on the phone. As a result I have raised a concern with my bank as well as made multiple reports to potential fraud/scam departments.

Hi unfortunately MrEmergency also known as Metropolitan Plumbing and Electrical have been on A Current Affair multiple times and under investigation by the authorities, known for charging 10x reasonable cost (do a Google search to find out more). I unfortunately didn’t know this when charged $4200 for a failed safety switch replacement with a range of practices I have reported to the ACCC for investigation as likely misleading, coercive and unconscionable practice. If this has been your experience it is important to report them. There are 3 simple actions you can take (the below applies to SA but you can do similar in any state - noting they operate over 200 business names and buy up the top Google ads with MrEmergency one of many of their other names).
1) lodge a complaint through a simple online form to your state’s Business and Consumer services
2) Report a complaint also through a simple online form to the ACCC
3) Write by email to your most vocal member of Parliament - for South Australians I suggest in particular SA independent Member of Parliament Frank Pangallo who had a long career as a journalist including hosting the current affairs program Today Tonight

Also consider letting A Current Affairs or other media outlet know of your similar experience to what they have reported for any follow up media attention of these practices.

It is important for our voices to be heard and the more people lodging complaints will increase the likelihood of action and this company continuing price gouging hard working Australians.

Although price gouging isn’t illegal in Australia if it is so excessive such as 10x action may be able to be taken. More importantly it is illegal to mislead, deceive or undertake coercive or unconscionable behaviour. So if they used words such as your home won’t be legally compliant if you don’t agree for them to undertake the work or one of their higher alternative quotes, or if they pressured you in some other way to proceed then this can be reportable and could possible have criminal consequences depending on your individual facts. So please don’t stay silent and take the time to report to the authorities. There is one individual owner making an obscene profit off the backs of hard working honest Australians.
