I ordered an item off of optics planet that they claimed was in stock. I paid extra for three day delivery 15 days after I ordered the item. It is still not been shipped out yet according to optics planet it has been I had to contact the carriers to clarify the fact that the item was not available for them to pick up optics planet creates a label, making it look like they have the product then they order the product from somebody else and make you wait and they are very, very unwilling to give refunds even when their own policies have clearly been broken

Have attempted for the last time over several years to buy items that are listed as "In Stock" that actually are not "In Stock". False advertising. I will not even use them as a last result anymore. They simply cannot be trusted to be honest about availability of their stock.

Don’t ever order from here if you want your package within a month the shipping is dog water no matter the discounts they throw in.

DO NOT ORDER FROM OPTICS PLANET! Placed an order on January (it's currently April) for an optic, package made it to my city same month but was sent back before making it to my address due to insufficient shipping address. That's all great and dandy but since I wasn't able to get my money back or cancel my order since it was technically still in transit I was stuck with a charge for a product I didn't receive. After 3 months and multiple emails and them refusing to send me another even though the package was on its way back to them I filed a claim with my bank and that was that.

They had decent pricing and believe it or not current stock on the items I wanted. The free shipping is slower than walking across Tennessee. They took several days to process the order before sending it on a never-ending journey to my home. Everything was fine (not great) except they sent me a used Magpul PRS Lite stock. I paid for new but unfortunately I got a re-taped box and nothing inside but a pre-dropped dirty stock. I cleaned it and it's fine but I'll not trust them again. I hadn't used them for years due to the says it's in stock issue. This will be the last time. I'll just go somewhere else, pay less and get it new faster.

Ordered some Williams pistol sight 3/18/26. Just received my second notice of a delayed shipping, now estimated to be 4/13/26. No wonder this place has such lousy reviews. I just wish I'd checked them befor ordering from this joke of a bussiness.

I’ll never order from this place again. I placed the order didn’t receive any information only to receive information about my order a week later them telling me that it’s on hold mind you it was just a plastic cover for a red dot never again don’t waste your time save yourself the stress an the headache.

It's a long story of correspondence going back and fourth regarding a defective items received. But the most outrageous fact is that my last email was deleted w/o reading. Started a credit card dispute as a result. Check BBB before buying (I haven't) - they have a solid F.
Update as of 04/02/2026: new email deleted w/o read as well - what a customer service!

I was a customer a few years ago but stopped after poor service and the quality of their products fell. I recently tried again and received the Archangel stock for a 10/22.

It was sold as new but it was a return. Pkg was cut open, parts and instructions were missing. I looked into returning it. Although the error was theirs, I was going to be charged $7.99 shipping to return the stock. I tried to write a review on the Optics Planet website but instead got an email stating my “review didn’t meet their guidelines.”

My fault for trusting this company again—won’t be ordering from them in the future.

I called and spoke with a live customer service rep regarding product availability. Once checked with the availability, I made an order of a Mountain Hardware down jacket on 03/20. The order was swiftly processed the same day. Received the order today 03/26 in California. Incredible price and super fast free delivery. Will buy again from OpticsPlanet.

Order cancelled due to a location based shipping restriction identified after the order was placed, after ID/FOID copied and sent, and after disclosure documentation printed, signed, scanned, and sent to vendor. Paperwork is all valid. Order elsewhere.

Absolutely horrendous customer service, I’ve waited on hold for over an hour, was never issued a refund for a returned red dot, said they issued the refund but the account they issued it to was not mine! As I typed this I’ve been on hold listening to the awful guitar solo waiting music for over an hour.. don’t waste your time this company is terrible

DO NOT do business with these people. You got a 50/50 shot of them getting it right, and WHEN they get it wrong, they’ll keep your money. Shady at best. I’d give them no stars if possible. They told me they couldn’t refund my money because of a web error. Which they refuse to fix!! Dishonest at best.

waited 54 days for product to arrive. cancelled order prior to shipment and they claim to be unable to cancel. this is because even tho they claim in stock inventory they do not actually have it. terrible company terrible business model terrible customer service

STRAIGHT UP THIEVES! Flat out stole my money! I didn't notice a barrel was missing from my order under a couple days later. By then I had already thrown out the box. Without pictures of the box they will not refund the item. Even though they had put in a replacement order but I canceled because it was on back order. I expected better from optics planet than straight up thieves.

Received an obviously previously returned, broken item. Box had clearly been opened and re-taped in an orientation not from the manufacturer. Upon opening the box and removing the item I found a critical part to be broken rendering the item useless. Tried to submit a review on their site and it was rejected…pretty shady that they reject negative reviews!!

They have zero customer service, do not return call back requests, do not answer the phone. Will not email back. They don't have a customer service team, if you order, hope you don't have an issue because it won't be solved

They sent me the wrong item on my order and getting a hold of their live customer service is near impossible. I've tried staying on hold for over an hour to just be hung up on. I've hit the button that is supposed to call you back when someone is available and either got no call back at all after calling first thing in the morning or they finally called me back over 5 hours later when I was not available to take a call. Their return process is horrible and their website is terrible to navigate around.

"In Stock" doesn't mean that they actually have it and customer service is terrible. Some of my orders have gone through perfectly, which is why two stars and not one. I have been waiting weeks for small parts, and on one of my items they offered a worse product and charged more money to get it. And as far as customer service, forget it. I waited 45 min on hold, then opted for a call back that never came. Called again the next day, again 40 min on hold. Tried the online chat, again 35 min waiting only to have the chat disconnected as soon as I was typing the order number in. As long as you don't need the parts fast, and you don't have to contact them, maybe you will get lucky.

My package was lost by USPS and they said it would be close to two months before I could get a refund or replacement. I can’t get a straight answer from anyone and after writing a review they declined it because it was negative.
