I gave my car to Pentagon in Middleton for some repair work. During the health check, the mechanic identified additional work which I agreed to, costing around £1,700 in total. However, I also noticed that “change coolant water” had been added for £65, something I had neither requested nor believed was related to the work being carried out.
I queried this at the time and was told by the receptionist that the coolant charge would be removed before I signed the agreement.
When I returned to collect the car, I noticed I had still been charged the £65. I raised this with the receptionist. One member of staff was polite, but another became defensive and insisted that I had authorised the work. I explained that I had specifically requested for this item to be removed before approving the job. She repeatedly pointed at the computer system as proof, but could not confirm when or how I had supposedly authorised it.
I then asked her to check the originally signed paperwork. Once checked, it clearly showed that the coolant item had been crossed off. Despite this, there was no real apology. Instead, she continued to be defensive and accused me of authorising it because it was on the system. eventually she reluctantly to remove the charge stating “on this occasion”, as though they were doing me a favour rather than admitting they made a mistake. I mean there wont be another occasion and I wont be returning to this place again after being treated like this.
I left feeling quite embarrassed and frustrated over something that was not my fault. Clearly there was either a system issue or a breakdown in communication between staff and the system updates.
My concern to management is this: how often are additional items left on invoices after customers have specifically declined them? Whether intentional or accidental, it does raise concerns about internal processes and quality control. I believe this is something Pentagon should seriously review.
My overall experience was'nt the best but the interaction in the end where I was made to feel like I've done something wrong left me no choice but to leave a review.

So after three visits to have issues corrected I am no further forward, in fact more issues now than before. No wonder their Service department don't get back to you, their Customer Care department is pointless and resolves nothing, if they're led by an individual who only cares about selling cars. Do yourself a favour and buy elsewhere, buying the car is one event, maintaining it is many events and these people do not care!

Went for a service and early MOT, told MOT fail due to tyre pressure sensors and the replacement would cost £263. Feel like it would have been better for the customer if they had done the MOT first and advised me of any repairs, so that I could have had the option to postpone the service until another time, to afford to get the repairs done. Instead they did it the other way around and did the service first, so it was too late and I would have to pay for the service, then the MOT and repairs.
When I went into the garage, I was advised that they thought I needed two sensors but, until they do the repairs, they don’t know if all four needed replacing, if so then this would be done in the price. I did think the quote was steep and did call another garage for all four sensors to be repaired, which came in cheaper however, Pentagon advised I should not be driving the vehicle and if I went elsewhere I will have to pay half the MOT price again for them to do the re-check. I felt pressured to go with them and thought it probably wasn’t worth the hassle of going elsewhere, driving a car without an MOT, and still paying for a re-test.
In the end they fitted two sensors and gave me my MOT, but only a week after the repair, my system warning lights were on again. I took it back to Pentagon and they are now saying it is the other two sensors and they want me to pay over £200 again to get the work done. So I am no better off with the same problem having already paid out £263. The other garage’s quote was cheaper and for all four sensors, so now I wished I had taken the car elsewhere for the repair and this problem would not have re-occurred.
This has all left me with a bad taste, the reason I went with the dealer was because I don’t necessarily trust garages for ripping people off, unfortunately this is how I now feel about Pentagon. I certainly won’t be using them again and won’t be going to them for the repairs, services or future car purchases.
Would I recommend them? No, feel like they are a rip off and I don’t like their practices. I was also told the mechanics charge £150ph for labour hence why their repairs are so expensive.

Terrible customer service, they couldn't have been more unhelpful if they tried. Never answer the phone and when you go in person to speak to someone you get no help whatsoever. If this wasn't bad enough it cost us over £600 to hire a car whilst ours was out of action that we're now out of pocket for. We put a complaint in about it, but the customer services is so bad they haven't even bothered responding to that, despite many follow up emails.

An amazing experience with Pentagon Scunthorpe Peugeot. These were certainly the best priced for a brand new Peugeot in the country, well worth a visit.The staff were friendly and courteous. They were warm and welcoming. Nothing was any trouble and they kept us up to date with the cars delivery date. Malcolm the sales man at this branch went above and beyond and is a genuinely true top gentleman. He certainly made this purchase run smooth and won the sale. We went in on Saturday looking to purchase a car, not sure as to which one just yet a few ideas but nothing set in stone. Courtney greeted us and offered some assistance but wasn't pushing to sell just friendly in general, so once we had a couple different cars in mind we let her know and she proceeded to get the keys and show us all around the cars and answered all questions we had. we came back on the Tuesday after having some thought about it and purchased the chosen car. (Thank you to Courtney for making our experience special and NOT being like the typical "sleezy car salesperson") 10/10 will recommend!

Awful experience thus far. Partner and I purchased a BYD Seal U last May. We had a positive experience buying the vehicle initially but it wasnt until the paperwork was to be signed that everything started to unravel a bit. Firstly our initial quote we received for the vehicle was great. It wasnt until a few days later we received the call that the price then changed. It wasnt far out of the realms of what we we're originally quoted so we we're willing to let this slide. Our vehicle came in and my partner spent the best part of the day waiting to collect it. We we're then told that they we're having an issue updating the vehicle so we could take away a courtesy car until the vehicle was ready. We ended up having this courtesy car for a few months before being able to have our vehicle we purchased. All the while whilst paying for our vehicle as well.
We we're also of the mind that we had purchased tyre cover with the vehicle, it wasnt until we needed a replacement that we found out this wasnt added and when we came to enquire our emails we're ignored!
Now not even a year later we are having to have the condenser in our vehicle replaced. I have tried to call the service department multiple times and cannot get through to anyone. Our service video says that we should not drive our vehicle until the condenser has been replaced but was not told this until we had seen the service video.
Overall poor communication and response times and nowhere to raise issues.

Since changing my service plan to pentagon st helens its been abysmal!
Last year they tried to charge us for new locking wheel nuts but they lost the key and the code! I was having none of it, this year said I needed a leak patching so I waited until the 1st April when they could fit me in, took my car in and got a phone call in the afternoon saying they were wrong and there is no leak... pick it up and it's sat on the drive as I use my little car for day to day driving..... comes to use it today and low and behold no locking wheel nut key in the glove box where i always keep it!! Absolutely fuming, I will be calling in the morning and demanding they rectify it or be taken to small claims court! I definitely will be taking my business elsewhere as this is twice now!

All I can say really is avoid this place (pentagon ford St Helens) for any type of work/servicing, the customer service & servicing side is beyond poor, my car has been in and out since may 2025 & it’s only just been resolved after going in for recall software updates & each time I was assured it would be in for 2-3 days which turned into weeks each time, this last time on the fourth visit of being booked in for 3 days which turned into 12 weeks of the usual fob off excuses ie, the mechanic who deals with ev side of it is away on holiday or off sick, no time to get to it, technical issues, back order on parts, no parts in the country. With service staff being unprofessional and rude & not interested in anyway at all as he showed on many occasions.by the end of it I got my car back 2nd April 2026 & told it had been valeted which turned out not the case, it was filthy with oil covering the steering wheel and floor mats & all inside the door cill, with scratches on the arm rest & down the side of the bodywork on drivers side,. I practically had to force someone from the dealership to actually take some interest and have a look, they assured me they will repair and call me by the end of the day but as always never follow up on their promises & lame excuses after excuse I was told previously to avoid this place but never actually believed it until my own experience. For your own sanity don’t use this dealership in St Helens use another location

My Kia EV6 GT has had nothing but problems since this branch applied a software update. The 12v battery drains when the car is not driven for 1 or 2 days. I took the car in and they said that a courtesy car would not be available for 10 days, how is this sustainable?
The servicing team then said that they would contact the Mansfield and Rotherham branches to see if they had any availability...four hours later this conversation had still not taken place. I was reassured that they would give me a call back before the end of the working day to confirm the availability and where to collect from, this did not happen. So now I have no car, no support and no means of getting to work in Castleford. Absolutely diabolical customer service! Add to this the rude response of "we can't give you something we don't have" from the services customer services front desk.
