VERY POOR SERVICE. TOTALLY DISORGANISED
We had windows and doors replaced in our home by Permaframe in early 2025. My advise would be to avoid this organisation.
The product is OK and the guys who install it do a good job. But the central sales and administration team are a mess and the ordering process is shockingly disorganised. At the outset, we discussed the order in general terms with the sales person, measurements were taken etc, but agreed that we would make final decisions about colours and handle finishes over the next week or so. However, they pushed an order though to the manufacturers before we had time to consider colours etc, i then demanded that they stop the order, i visited the showroom, and made final decisions about colours and handle finishes etc. We then spent two months trying to get them to confirm an agreed revised and accurate order. This was a painful process as no one seemed to know anything about the various options nor seemed capable of getting all the details correct (and it was becoming clear that they had probably already placed the order with the manufacturer and were unwilling to change it...). Then they installed with windows, but all the frames were the wrong colour and all the handles had the wrong finish as per the revised and agreed order. The thought of having all the windows ripped out again was too much so we agreed to live with the colour we had not ordered. However, we damanded that they at least get the handle finishes correct and they then had to came back twice before the got the handles changed to the right finish! TOTAL DISORGANISATION!! Eventually they agreed a small discount given their errors which we eventually accepted as the whole thing was proving to be so stressful and they were threatening to commence legal proceedings if we didn't pay. Awful experience from beginning to end. AVOID.

Check Those T&C's
Not sure why I am having a bad experience with Permaframe. Planning was approved on the Friday 6th June and I have had to chase for a start date. Was told on the 24th June that they would get back to me that afternoon with a start date. I had to chase again on the 25th June and say 'it's been 3 weeks since the plans were approved, do we have a start date?' Just had a call to say they can't start untiil the 4th Augus. I asked how much of the £7,000 deposit I would lose if I pulled out. I was told 60%. They have just called me back now to inform me that in their T&C's it is 60% of the whole amount of £30,000 that I would lose, not becuase they have ordered anthing but because of the back ground work they have had to do. They can only keep that start date for today, so I need to let them know today or I will lose that too. Pretty disappointing really and not how I would have liked to have been treated. Andrew's just popped into the chat now to confirm actually it is 65% of the toal costs as per the T&C's. Definately read that small print and when you are given dates have it writing not verbally so then you have something to fall back on. Wish I had just gone to a reputable builder.

We regret that, despite planning approval on 6 June 2025, you had to chase for updates, with promises on 24 and 25 June not met until today’s call confirming a start date of 4 August 2025. I understand this timeframe may not align with your expectations, but I want to assure you that at Permaframe, we do not rush projects. We prioritise doing things properly to ensure a high-quality build, and we believe a 2-month period from planning approval to starting construction is a standard industry timeline. We are committed to delivering an excellent result for you. Your job was initiated on 6 June, with the order processed and released to suppliers that day, a process that typically takes a few weeks to confirm details and delivery dates. As soon as this was complete, we offered the 4 August start date, which you initially found challenging, leading to your decision to cancel.
Regarding the cancellation, I note it was communicated via phone to Abbey rather than by email or WhatsApp, as outlined in our Terms and Conditions. These terms are in place to protect both our suppliers and Permaframe from disruptions caused by cancellations after orders are placed, and we have been consistent in applying them. We believe they are fair and designed to safeguard both you, the customer, and our company. We should have communicated this more clearly from the outset, and for that, I apologise.
Since then, you have agreed to the proposed dates, and it seems the concern stemmed from the perceived long turnaround of just three weeks after planning approval to provide a start date. As noted in the “What Happens Next” brochure we sent, such timescales are typical in our industry, and we aim to manage expectations accordingly. We will investigate our internal processes to improve communication, ensuring start dates and terms are confirmed in writing moving forward, as you wisely suggested. We are committed to enhancing training for our team to avoid future misunderstandings and are looking into this case to find a fair resolution.

Front door installation was fantastic
After waiting over 4 months for a different company to install our front door and constantly making excuses as to why they couldn't do it. We contacted PermaFrame who came out straight away, Scott took us through the design and brought the colour swatches as well for the feont door. From that point to installation of our Front Door was little over a month. Dan & Brian came to install the door, they were both really nice guys, and did a fantastic job. They obviously take pride in their work and care about the customer. The installation was completed in half a day, made sure everything was working and that i was hapy, and it looks absolutely fantastic. They also offered advice on how to clean the UPVC windows that they weren't even working on, and some advice on loose mortar around the windows.
Would thoroughly recommend the company and want to thank Dan & Brian.

Perfect experience
Absolutely perfect experience today - had all of our windows replaced by Dan & Brian. Extremely friendly, helpful and perfect in the way they carried out their job & the tidying afterwards. Went above and beyond by hoovering up all of the stairs, and taking away our 2 scrap front/back doors for us. They were respectful of our home and making sure our 3 dogs were safely out of the way before opening doors or lowering things out of windows. And as a bonus to all of that it was a lot quicker than I thought it was going to be, especially with only the 2 of them. I cannot fault anything from today - thank you both
