This appears to be a scam. I ordered curtain rails, they then called me to upsell a better and slightly more expensive model. I was naive enough to go ahead and pay more. Supposedly the delivery is a few business days after but I am still waiting. The phone number always goes to voicemail and emails are barely ever responded to. Avoid at all costs!

Poor customer service

I ordered a curtain pole with a 2/3 week lead time as stated on the website. After 3 weeks passed I had heard nothing so tried to contact the company. The phone line rang out and went to answer phone multiple times and my emails were ignored for a few days. Eventually they let me know that my order had yet to start production. I was unhappy with the time it was taking to fulfil my order so I asked them to cancel my order which they eventually did. From my experience the customer service was poor and only really improved after I wrote a bad review on Trustpilot. Before placing an order with this company my advice would be to test their customer service first by seeing if they answer the phone or reply to your emails.

Problem with delvery - can't contact anyone!

Order #2147

Placed order with no issues and was delivered promptly.

However, wrong size brackets were supplied - I ordered 7cm but 11cm were sent.
I have tried call, email and livechat, but have not been able to reach anyone.

EDIT - thanks for the response, but it would have been lovely if someone could have replied to my email to let me know, or called me back. Looking at other reviews, I'm clearly not the only one that has had this issue - if it's going to take you 2 days to respond (my original email was sent on 12 August and it's now 14 August) then perhaps you should consider letting customers know so that they don't feel like they are being ignored?
I look forward to receiving the correct brackets tomorrow.

Order Was Lost, Customer Support Absymal

Ordered at the weekend with a 3-5 day delivery time. After the week had passed, I contacted them for an update to be told the following business day. That came and went with no delivery. To make it worse, customer support barely exists - their phone number is an answering machine and their chatbot is perpetually offline. Out of the many messages sent over multiple days, only one got through.

After this review was posted, they emailed me to say the next day it would arrive, but were unable to provide any tracking details. Again, that day came and went with no delivery. Will be seeking a full refund.

And we can all see from the childish response of the owner that they would rather blame the paying customer rather than rectify slow communication and abysmal shipping. This is something prominent throughout their responses to bad reviews - shout at the customer, and never offer an apology if something went wrong. That should tell you everything about this company.

I'm sorry to see that you left us such a bad review, though I can see on your Trustpilot page that you are somewhat of a prolific 'bad-reviewer'. As I shared with you by email, we had responded to your messages on chat, and these usually get sent through to your email if you're not on the website when we reply. Perhaps they went to your spam folder.

Our messages explained that there was a problem with the postcode you provided which delayed the order initially. When you followed up about the tracking number, we confirmed that the the courier does not provide tracking, which is common to all retailers in this industry.

It's a very busy time of year for us so we're not always able to answer the phone straight away - but we always get back to messages, emails and voicemails within 24 hours.

Absolute waste of time this company

Absolute waste of time this company. I ordered a curtain pole, brackets were not suitable, way too big, lioked stupid. I asked for a refund, they said to return it would be £25 to collect it and 10% of the cost of the curtain pole. I asked for a refund code but to no avail. I will never use this company again.

We're sorry you feel that you received service worthy of just one star. We did take some time to communicate our policies with you, and why we, like many e-commerce sites nowadays, must share some of the costs associated with returns with the customer, particularly given the high shipping costs for goods such as curtain poles. We also explained how the return admin cost would be waived if you decided to order an alternative product from our website.

As per our returns policy, it is the customer's responsibility to organise their own shipping. We offer the £25 return service is an express, insured service with a trusted courier who handle large goods - it is offered as an option for your convenience, but you are more than welcome to organise your own shipping.

Great customer service

Great customer service! We had ordered the slightly wrong goods to go together and the team proactively got in touch to check that what we had ordered was right, before shipping. Products then sent efficiently and well wrapped. Products were great quality. All in all a 5 star service. Highly recommend and wouldn’t hesitate to use again.

Great service and technical advice

Required a metal Silent Gliss rail for a bay window. Quite complicated to measure with two bends required but received lots of helpful advice and technical diagrams to enable me to complete my order online. Rail delivered including all brackets for fixing. Unfortunately one end of the rail was damaged in transit despite being very well packaged. A replacement rail was provided very quickly at no extra cost and this has been delivered in perfect condition to the exact size specified. I would definitely recommend Pole Design.

Beware misleading images on website

Following on from previous complaints. I googled flexible curtain rail and pole design was near the top. On the website an image of a curved pole so assumed it was flexible. It did at the bottom of the description say that custom bending for bay windows would need to be done in factory but as only wanted a curve at one end assumed that would work. The rail when it arrived was completely rigid.
Tried a phone call, message to say not accepting calls and to email. Did get a response which basically said it was my fault and no chance of a refund.
Another lesson learnt check reviews before buying from unknown company.
Realised from the reviews I'd be on a hiding to nothing ing so a lesson learnt

Pole Design do not provide flexible curtain rails only Custom Bent. We are not listed anywhere as flexible. On the product listing it says to Contact us if you want the item Custom Bent. Silent Gliss are what we specialise in and these are Custom Bent in a factory environment to a CAD which we provide on Order. You assumed wrong that you could bend this item so I don't know why you have left us a bad review.

I agree with everything other 1 star reviewers have said.
We ordered two swish poles on 16th August to go in one room, and they turned out to be totally different colours.
I phoned them, and once Karen returned my call, she asked me to send photos.
She took the stance that this was a problem for the manufacturers to deal with, not her.
After 6 weeks of phone calls and waiting, she told me that the manufacturers had no other stock available, and agreed to refund the money.
Three weeks and several calls later, having been told that "accounts" took 2 weeks to process a refund, I got my money back.
Clearly a 1-person operation who, once she has your money, will fight tooth and nail to keep it.
