Do NOT let this company touch your property, your website. This company will hold your website hostage and make it so that you have to depend on them to do anything on your website, insuring their revenue stream. You are locked out of your own property through their custom coding which will never be given to you or the next developer if you want to move away to someone else. They withhold documentation of their coding and since I stopped their handiwork during one of the crashes on their watch, I have spent 10 tortured months of trying to keep the website going until I can afford and build a new one. The website has been on life-support since the last crash and is now in hospice, and it went completely offline last week. I have 22 years invested into my small business and my largest asset, my website, was destroyed by these incompetent scammers in 10 months. And they were PAID over $25K for "projects" only which was budgeted to be $12K. All of their projects did not work as requested or as they purported they would and no longer function at all. My website crashed 3 times while they were "developing" and we were unable to do business for days/weeks at a time. We found out that the WP-Admin PASSWORD kept getting changed. And in the last crash, they tried to extort more money to get me back online. I was left in the worst case scenario. A dead website and I was out of business until I was able to get it back up with the hosting company assistance who pointed out where Powder Keg sabotaged the website. They did this all knowing I was also caregiving a parent with a recent and aggressive onset of Alzheimers that started in January of 2022. They were hired in August of 2021. Once they knew my vulnerability with that, I was an easy target to overcharge and take advantage of. They did not finish any project on time, all deadlines were passed with excuses and the billing rate of hourly went to Progressive Billing without disclosure or agreement. If you request a refund, they will bill you extra (manufactured invoices) to make you just go away in conjunction with their attorney threatening you personally. If you try to handle the situation yourself without representation, their attorney won't answer you, you are forced to get an attorney. They will not be held accountable for one thing over the 10 months which is unrealistic in any form or fashion to say such, they did everything perfectly as they decided. It's a predatory scam, all of it and them. There needs to be more regulations, code of conduct/ethics and laws in the website development arena that protect the consumer especially small businesses. Hertz just went through litigation with their web development company Assenture and it never went to trial. Let's hope that small businesses will be able to follow suit and not be part of the have nots due to limited resources. This industry has to change and is a very well-known predatory industry fraught with criminal activity. Please contact the Department of Justice at minimum to help be part of the change to protecting ourselves, our livelihoods and our sanity.
