It’s been 3 weeks now. Air France has paid me fully with receipts I had submitted
Provided all receipts and documents to Europ Assistance, India. I have still not been paid by them
Instead they continue to ask me for documentation and bills for all clothes and accessories I had checked in to my baggage.
Where do I get bills for clothes products and a suitcase I bought 4-5 years ago ?
This is sheer harassment by a Company which is supposed to well know all over the world and provides prompt compensation but in India their service is deplorable

FRAUD ALERT: They "Delete" Evidence & Fake Medical Dates to Deny Senior Citizens!
DO NOT buy health insurance from Reliance General Insurance (or their acquirers, IndusInd Bank and the Hinduja Group). Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman recently stated in Parliament that this company was penalized ₹2 Crore for "unfair business practices," and I am experiencing their fraud firsthand.
They are currently running a systematic scam against my 61-year-old widowed mother to deny her legitimate cashless knee surgery (Claim #101250069370). Here is their exact "Bait and Switch" playbook:
The "Deleted Data" Cover-up: When we bought the policy, their agents came to our home to physically verify her health and take photos. When we filed the claim, a Reliance Senior Manager admitted to me ON A RECORDED CALL that their agents "accidentally deleted" my mother's verification files! Instead of fixing their massive IT failure, they blamed my mother and canceled her claim.
Faking Medical Timelines: To justify the rejection, their corporate medical team illegally backdated her doctor's diagnosis by 46 days to falsely label it a "pre-existing" disease.
Pure Cruelty: The worst part? They officially sent us a Cashless Authorization Letter APPROVING the surgery. They let an elderly woman prepare for the hospital, then arbitrarily REVOKED the approval at the last minute with zero new evidence just to break her spirit.
If they can "accidentally delete" your data and fake your medical history to save a few rupees, your family is not safe with them. I have escalated this to the IRDAI, the Law Secretary, and posted the audio confession on youtube (#JusticeForRitu). Avoid this company at all costs!
6+ Months
6+ Months, Endless Emails, No Clear Claim Decision – Very Poor Experience
I purchased travel insurance (Inbound Travel Policy) from Reliance General Insurance through MakeMyTrip on 02 August 2025.
The insured event occurred on 08 August 2025 when my AirAsia flight was officially rescheduled due to technical reasons. I lodged the claim on 11 August 2025.
It is now more than 6 months later.
There has still been no clear, reasoned written decision.
Here is what I experienced:
1. Policy Documents Not Shared at Purchase
When I purchased the insurance, the policy wording and certificate were not provided immediately. I had to repeatedly request the documents. They were shared only after the travel disruption had already occurred.
How is a customer supposed to comply with terms and conditions that were never given in advance?
2. Repeated “Documents Pending” Loop
I submitted:
Airline delay confirmation
Boarding passes
Expense bills and receipts
Duly signed claim form
Cancelled cheque for NEFT transfer
Despite this, I repeatedly received “documents pending” updates.
Over 20+ email exchanges took place. Multiple chat support conversations. Every time, the same pattern: “documents pending.”
Documents already submitted were treated as missing.
There was no consolidated deficiency memo. No clear explanation of what was actually outstanding. No transparent approval or rejection with clause reference.
3. No Effective Support for Overseas Customers
As an overseas policyholder, I found that support systems are not designed for international customers. Contact channels primarily accept Indian numbers. This leaves email as the only practical option, which resulted in long loops and no resolution.
4. Delay Beyond Reasonable Limits
Travel insurance is meant to provide peace of mind during disruptions. Instead, this became a prolonged administrative battle lasting over six months.
The lack of a time-bound, reasoned decision creates:
Financial uncertainty
Administrative burden
Complete erosion of trust
Final Thoughts
Reliance General Insurance may be efficient in issuing policies and collecting premiums. But when it comes to claim handling transparency and responsiveness, my experience was extremely disappointing.
If you are considering travel insurance:
Insist on receiving full policy documents immediately
Keep every email and attachment
Be prepared for extended follow-up if you need to claim
Insurance is tested only when you actually need it. In my case, the experience was frustrating, time-consuming, and unnecessarily difficult.
Proceed carefully.

Worst experience with this company, they didn't cover me under insurance as I gave history of cervical and its treatment one and half years ago and now there is no problem but they didn't cover, if they have any issue they must call before rejection, either they can insure with some higher amount or they should exclude this problem for future. Don't know who the illiterate people are there to provide insurance, simply they know if anyone has any past history don't provide insurance

Reliance insurance is very Pathetic & trust me Pathetic is also very small word. First time I got trapped with them and purchased Reliance General insurance which is now Indusind Insurance for my Car.
And now Reliance or so called IndusInd they have made my life hell after paying Rs. 24000 for 1 year Car insurance these people are torchering day and night. And Policy Bazaar is enjoying sitting aside as there role is till consumers get trapped .

India’s worst insurance company I have ever experienced. Choosing this policy was the biggest mistake of my life.
I submitted my car for an insurance claim on 28th November, and it has now been more than one month.
First issue: There was only minor damage to my car, yet Tata Sab Motors took almost one month to repair it. My car was finally repaired on 30th December.
After the repair, the surveyor stopped answering my calls. I then contacted Reliance Insurance and raised a complaint. They informed me that the complaint has been registered, but now they are saying it will take another 12 days to clear the bill.
This is completely unacceptable and highly unprofessional. I am extremely fed up with Reliance Insurance.
I will never purchase this policy again, and I will not recommend it to anyone. I will also inform my family and friends never to buy this policy in their lives.
Poor Claims Handling & Repeated Document Requests
My claim experience with IndusInd General Insurance (previously Reliance General) has been very disappointing. The incident occurred within the valid policy dates, but the insurer repeatedly asked for the same documents multiple times, causing delays with no progress.
At one point, I was informed that a refund of ₹XXXXX was approved and would be paid in 10 working days. This was confirmed by their team and representative Prajakta Mane. But later, I was asked again for the same documents, and eventually the claim was denied. The explanations provided were not consistent with earlier communication.
This made me feel that the process was more about finding a reason to deny the claim rather than resolving it fairly. I would not recommend this insurer based on my experience.

Not Trustworthy
I would like to caution fellow customers about purchasing insurance from Reliance General Insurance, especially when it's done through VFS Global Services. I bought a policy for my mother, but due to a change in our plans, I had to cancel it.
The policy clearly states that cancellations made 15 days before the start date are eligible for a full refund. I submitted my cancellation request more than a month in advance. However, Reliance redirected me to VFS for cancellation, even though nowhere in the policy does it mention that cancellations must go through VFS.
What followed was a frustrating loop — Reliance asked me to contact VFS, and VFS sent me back to Reliance. This kind of mismanagement raises serious concerns about how claims would be handled abroad, especially in emergencies.
👉 Please note: It is not mandatory to purchase insurance through VFS Global. I strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance directly from a provider. That way, you'll have more transparency and control — especially for cancellations and refunds.
🚫 Avoid purchasing from Reliance via VFS.

Reliance Travel insurance policy is the worst and they always try to reject your claim with some reasons which was never disclosed while taking the policy. My claim for delayed baggage for 4 days from Kochi to Sydney rejected with a reason of the necessary daily usage items purchased after date of insurance policy coverage period which was given for 2 days. Don’t ever use their service for travel insurance.

I am British Citizen in united kingdom . I invited my dad to united kingdom and decided to apply for travel insurance with reliance.One of the most worst experience i had while purchasing the travel insurance .I was trying to buy travel insurance for dad on 27/12/2-24 It went through the online form . i was unable to upload the id proof as it was throwing an error and they have also taken money from my Indian account 4993 rupees which is equivalent to 50 pounds uk money. i raised query with them with whats apps and they transferred me to sales department . they raise service request .They emailed us on 29th dec and 30th dec 2024 for id proof . which i send the id proof and there was no acknowledge that they have received.it is been 8 business days and no response from the team ... i have to contact them today and found the service request was closed. i try to contact them but the customer service does not know escalation point or IVR..one of worst customer service.i have to go through the whats app again and they are busy from three attempts
i dont know if the travel sales quotes get nuliified surely the money should come back to the respective account .but no acknowledge for that also .Please do not buy any insurance from reliance. if i don't get the 4993 rupees back to my account. i will think i have given charity to reliance insurance

Avoid Taking International Travel Medical Insurance
Try to avoid taking international travel insurance with Reliance. It is a scam! We took an international travel medical insurance. Just days before our travel, we were contacted by their staff and informed that the insurance is invalid due to name mismatch between what is given on Passport and PAN Card. They said that the policy shall be invalid if we do not buy a new insurance. When we asked them how would that solve the issue, they said that their team shall match the names in the new policy.

1. Bought Reliance General Insurance Travel Insurance for my Senior Citizen Parents with a Sum Insured of 50,000 USD for their travel to Switzerland from 23.09.2023 to 05.12.2024.
2. My Father Senior Citizen Suffered with severe Bacterial Infection in his Right Eye. on 21.10.2024.
3. We initially went to Local in Wettingen Switzerland Eye Clinic , They recommended that this is severe infection and needs hospitalization and recommended us to visit Kantosspital in Aarau.
4. We started Treatment in Kantosspital in Aarau from 23.10.2024 till 25.11.2024. We requested Reliance to make the payment to hospital however no timely response. We paid the all the Hospital Bills and Medical Bills and submitted claim to Reliance for Reimbursement on 05.01.2024. However no response on reimbursement till today.

Don't recommend for people travelling to UK. Even though company looks big and reliable but they resort to corrupt practices not allowed in UK. They say SLA to claim resolution is 7 working days but took more than 30 odd emails and phone calls to respond after 4 months. They request for medical records which is not allowed under GDPR and access it claiming medical knowledge and discredit even UK GP letters. Don't waste your money and would recommend to check review if any other insurer fair better.

Pathetic, its been 3 weeks since im trying to contact them to get claim forms. No response to emails, phone calls are on hold forever. They should be ashamed of themselves for cheating the public.
