Very disappointing and stressful experience with this car rental company in Rome.

We booked a car online through New Solution. The confirmation email stated the rental and return location as New Solution Rent, Via di Portonaccio 122, Rome. However, when we arrived at the address, the company operating there appeared to be RM Car Rentals, which was already confusing.

We rented the car on 1 April 2026 and paid a €500 deposit by credit card. We also purchased full protection insurance for €28 per day. The car was returned on 14 April 2026 at the same address without any issue, damage claim, or additional charge being raised. We were told that the deposit would be refunded within 48 hours.

As of 11 May 2026, the €500 deposit has still not been refunded.

I contacted the company several times. I sent emails on 20 April, 29 April, and 4 May. The first two emails were ignored. After the third email, they replied only by saying that the matter would be processed within 48 hours, but no refund was made. I also called their phone numbers 18 times and sent many WhatsApp messages. Almost all of these attempts were ignored.

On 7 May 2026, the company finally sent another email apologising and stating that they had found that the transaction had been reversed/cancelled and that they would check the issue with their bank. They asked for my IBAN so that their administration could make a bank transfer to resolve the problem without further delay. I provided the requested details, but as of 11 May 2026, I have still received no payment confirmation and no refund.

The issue is not only the missing €500 deposit. The bigger problem is the complete lack of communication and accountability after the rental. The car was returned without any dispute, yet the deposit has not been returned and the company has repeatedly failed to provide a clear and reliable solution.

Based on my experience, I would strongly not to rent anything from this company.

An overall terrible experience.

The process of renting the car went fine and the car itself is as expected. When I returned the car in august I was told I would have the deposit (1100 euro) back within a month. I have since tried contacting the company 10+ times, but I have not received my deposit back. The company has acknowledged that they are to pay it back, but have still not done so half a year later.

The rental process was simple, and the car was fuel-efficient.

Same as everyone here. They charged a huge deposit and then never gave it back. I've contacted them multiple times and heard nothing. I had to have my credit card company remove it.

Excellent rental experience. Easy to book and pick up the vehicle.

I booked a car in advance (3 months). I supposed to collect the car on December 26. I arrived on time and the representative informed me that the car was not available. I paid BOOKING.COM in advanced. The representative said he knew about the reservation but no car was available and I should contact with Booking.com.
I was traveling with kids and wife. I supposed to go the countryside. They ruined my trip. Booking.com did nothing to help! This RM Rental is a scam company. Don’t book a car with Booking.com . Never use RM Rental.

They have an unreasonably large deposit (2000 euros) request and instead of blocking the funds on the credit card (like any other company) they charge you, pretend they will return the money and NEVER do.
I'm still waiting to get my money back after 2 months.
It's a pure fraudolent scam, they should be closed.

Best one transparent and efficient

It is basically a fraud:
1. Like other people here, they did not refund the deposit or respond to any communication. We had to contest the deposit charge with the credit card company.
2. We didn't read the per km charge, it's very expensive, from a 247 euro rental for 11 days, we paid 1,854.25 extra. BEWARE

Scarsa professionalità: la sede pubblicizzata come Termini via Giolitti è un bugigattolo seminterrato a via Cattaneo, senza parcheggio con le auto a noleggio messe in doppia fila.
Scorrettezza fraudolenta: alla riconsegna mi sono accordo di aver fatto 90 km in più di quelli inclusi, ho chiesto di tenere l'auto un giorno in più (previsto dal contratto) ovviamente pagandolo, mi è stato rifiutato per addebitarmi l'esorbitante somma di 140 euro!
Sconsiglio a tutti questa compagnia, se potessi metterei ZERO STELLE

I forgot my credit card to pock up the vechile the staff was very polite they helped me. A lot. If not it would room my vacation with my family

Fraud - will not refund your deposit.
The car pick-up process and the car was fine, and once we returned the car it also seemed fine at first. They promissed that our deposit would be refunded directly to my bank account in a day or two. Now 4,5 moths later the deposit has still not been refunded. I've been in contact with the firm several times both by phone and email - and every time there is some excuse as to why the deposit hasn't been refunded yet. I consider this as pure fraud!! Stay away from this car rental firm

Well it was a great dealing with these guys. Perfect and brand new cars . We returned the car on time and we had made few kilometers extra and we got our deposit back in time . I suggest everone to try these guys very helpful and polite

We rented a family car in central rome for 3 weeks. The rental was quite cheap (1000 euros) and the car very nice.
When we returned the car, it had a very small scratch on the door and on two hub caps. The cost of this was 1.500 euros. Far too much in our view. Fortunately we had our own insurance to cover.
We had paid a deposit of 2000 euros when we rented the car. It was a real hazel to get the remaining money back, we had to ask for them at least 5 times, before they were finally paid. They kept saying that they would get back to us, but never did. So it took quite a lot of asking, before the money was finally paid. If you rent a car here, make sure you have insurance and a lot of patience.
