Sectran Security Lost Our Small Family Business $17,000 of Our Cash
We trusted Sectran Security to transport and deposit our business’s cash. On the week of June 16, 2024, they picked up a deposit of $16,894, confirmed it with a signed receipt, and then the money simply vanished. It never made it to our bank.
What followed was a masterclass in deflection, dishonesty, and corporate gaslighting.
We provided proof of the pickup, including deposit receipts and the courier package report. Sectran initially told us they were “investigating,” even though they later admitted they purge all records after 90 days—meaning they never had the data they claimed to be reviewing. It was never a real investigation. It was a stall tactic.
When we finally pressed for answers, Sectran denied the claim, saying we filed too late—even though they were contractually required to notify us of discrepancies within 24 hours, which they never did.
To make it worse, their own Director of Risk Management, Jason Scrimpsher, personally assured us that reimbursement was being considered if we stayed on as a customer. We held off on legal action based on this. Then days later, he completely reversed course and denied the claim outright.
Now, on Yelp, Jason has posted a carefully worded PR response implying that Sectran is still open to dialogue and resolution. That’s a lie. Sectran already told us the case was closed. They had their chance to make it right, and instead they chose to hide behind a self-serving policy and contradictory statements.
We are now being forced to hire legal counsel and take formal action just to recover money that was ours to begin with.
Sectran Security advertises themselves as a trusted armored transport provider, but in our experience, they lose money, dodge accountability, mislead their customers, and then try to look cooperative in public while privately refusing to do the right thing.
If you run a business and value your money, do not trust Sectran Security with a single dollar of it. They are not secure. They are not transparent. And they are not trustworthy.
