I got some great advice and input from Julian at Service4Service today. He took the time to discuss the issue with my transmission/gearbox and explain things in layman's terms - and much needed, as it's not an area I am at all knowledgable about, I can assure you. What was refreshing was that he was both approachable and friendly, happy to answer my questions, and ultimately his recommendation was that it might be best NOT to try and repair or replace it as it might be not a good, long-term solution for us. Given that he could have said, 'yes, we can do that', and taken the job for the short-term fix, I found it very helpful to get the benefit of his years of experience and genuine interest in our vehicle and the best solution for us. Would definitely recommend you call - and speak to him to find out if they can help you.

Excellent service, arranged for my vehicle to be collected after having a gearbox issue they spoke with my warranty company and made everything very easy. I'll definitely be using them for servicing in the future and recommending friends moving forward.

We needed honest advice about whether it was worth the money to replace a clutch issue. After calling at least a dozen others, Julian and Jon at the St Albans office took the time to give us the pros and cons and talk through a tough situation through with us. It was a costly and hard decision to make either way and he didn't just give us a sales pitch but tried to help us find out what would be best for our situation. Much appreciated!

My dads car, a Mercedes was in need of a good service, it ran beautifully after coming back had a minor hiccup and he straight away booked it in to get it sorted. Very honest and smooth service.

In August 2022 the automatic gear box on my car was causing a problem and needed fixing. I contacted Service 4 Service and they explained, in full detail, what would and could happen if I went ahead with the repair. They also informed me of the approximate cost should the warranty company refuse the claim, which they did, surprise, surprise. The car was collected and I was kept informed throughout the period they had the car what was happening. They guarantee their work for a year or 12,000miles. They are a very professional organisation, very helpful, courteous and polite. The car is now running well and hopefully will continue to do so for a good while yet.

I am very happy with the work carried out on my gearbox repairs. The work was carried out professionally and I was kept up to date with how the repairs were going. We had one minor hiccup which was dealt with very professionally and very quickly to my satisfaction. I am very pleased to say I can recommend this company to carry out repair work.

After struggling to get our gearbox repaired anywhere without a ridiculous time frame I found these guys. Our experience with service 4 service has been seamless from start to finish the team repaired my vehicle and returned it to me a few days earlier then expected! It drives perfectly my husband and I couldn't be happier. Thank you service 4 service!!

I would thoroughly recommend this company for repairing your gear box. I rang them up after my Ford Galaxy started having transmission problems. initially I spoke to Ford and their price was really expensive. Then I spoke to this company and they were really helpful, picked the car up and rang me a couple of days later to discuss what they discovered the issues was. Much cheaper price to repair than Ford and they explained everything all along. Brought my car back to me and I am very happy.

I wish I could leave no stars! This company is a sham, they quoted for a job and for it to be done to 10 days. They took over 5 months to do the job, no communication as to why it was taking so long, not taking calls, not answering emails.
I was charged double what was quoted. My car also clocked 250 whilst in their care which can only mean the car was working and they drove it without my permission. They are a sham of a business and no one should ever go to them.

I will never use their service again. They replaced the clutch and charged me £2600 for “fixing the gearbox”. Nothing was fixed, the problem still occurs. The mechanic cannot reveal the actual repair costs as he is contractually bound with Service4Service. The invoice does not include the cost of individual repairs. It only shows the final amount to be paid. Leaves a lot of room for scamming people. They do not answer questions that are inconvenient for them. Pushing fast pay and lack of transparency. If you don't want to pay ridiculous commissions, call the mechanic directly, you'll save a lot of money. Always read negative reviews first as they reveal the true image of the company.

I used Service 4 Service last year after getting an extortionate quote from MB! I spoke with Chris Lindsey who was able to support me with my service, which was absolutely seamless. So much so, that this year the only company I want to handle my car was Chris and the team. They also update services on the update system which was a must for me! Thanks Chris, see ya next year :-)

Caring, supportive, committed and excellent. Just a few words to some up how great these guys are. My vehicle broke down on 28/06/22. From the first phone call I had with Aaron I knew straight away that this was the garage I wanted my vehicle to be repaired at. He was reassuring and honest throughout the collection process and always provided me with any information I needed. Fast forward six weeks and my car had still not been repaired due to the dealership and warranty both refusing. Six weeks without my car (and still counting) but throughout all the stress and even tears, every phone call I’ve ever had with updates on resolving the issue both Aaron and Jon have never once failed to support me. They really do go above and beyond for their customers and if it wasn’t for them throughout this long stressful process I don’t know where I’d be. Anyone that chooses Service 4 Service, can be rest assured that one the work on your vehicle will be to the highest standard and also they always go the extra mile and more to support their customers. Thank you so much to everyone involved in my Audi S3. Jon, Aaron and all the fantastic mechanics. I will definitely be staying in contact and I wish you all the best in the future.

My gearbox warning light came on a little over a month of purchasing then it went off same day, I was very concerned I found this place on Google I called and spoke with Chris who was very patient and gave good advice, he told me to find out if the vehicle was still under warranty. I informed Chris that the dealer said that the reason for the dash board warning light was due to HEAT!!!, and the reason for the slow to move off or climb was because the vehicle operated more like a manual than auto. (semi auto Peugeot 2008)

Chris dismissed those excuses right away, he never had to continue to speak with me on the phone due to the fact that my vehicle was not booked with them.

Because of the time he took to speak with me, I raised concerns about the vehicle with my finance company, now a month a some days after the vehicle is not able to drive ( gearbox fault again and clutch system). I now have a leg to stand on because I continued to report the issues!!!

My car suddenly lost drive on a journey. Something went wrong with the 7G gearbox. I contacted Service4Service who arranged to collect my car, diagnose the problem and cost the repair all in one go. They did so and I agreed to have the car repaired there. The staff, particularly John and Vallentino, called me every step along the way to keep me informed of what stage the repair was at and informed me of all costs. My car was fixed within a couple of weeks and returned to me cleaned and all working well. I found the experience fair and felt Service4Service delivered well. I felt looked after. Thank you. I would recommend this company to anyone with any car issues. A deserved five stars.👍

Having spent a considerable amount of time trying to find someone who would undertake work on my 2005 Mercedes “Sprint Shift” gearbox, It was a great relief to find Service 4 Service Ltd!
The problem was discussed and an assessment of the problem with a costing was supplied very quickly. After some initial hassle with the collection due to the size of our vehicle, I was kept informed of progress & given a timescale, which turned out sooner than later! As with any work like this, additional issues where found during the rebuild, however I was informed at every stage before work continued.
Yes, this was an expensive job (finance was easily set up!), but so far the result has transformed the vehicle. With a 12-month/12k miles grantee, which we hope will not be called upon, we are very happy and would recommend Service 4 Service Ltd without question!

Excellent Service. Communication from Jordan was regular and thorough. The vehicle had been off the road for six months plus, so we were unsure how expensive the work would be. Fortunately, Jordan provided us with a minimum and maximum cost, depending on the outcome of the diagnostics / inspection, so we were comfortable from the outset that we could afford to have the work done.

Very pleased with service 4 service team with repairs done to my vehicle.
Gearbox bearings had collapsed. Due to mileage suggested clutch be replaced.
Very satisfied with way vehicle was picked up and transported to repairers and returned back to home address.
Communication by Aaron and the team was excellent by emails and phone calls .
Price quoted was accurate and vehicle returned with no issues well done .
