Stay away if Looking for reliability
Looking for reliability, a business that does what it says, and actually shows up? Then stay away from Sila!
I had an urgent plumbing job and explicitly asked the estimator if they could do the work the very next day because I had a flight to catch. He was completely certain and assured me they could absolutely be there. The estimator left my house around 3:00 PM, and by around 5:15 PM, I called the number provided to tell them they had the job. That call led me through an automated AI assistant, and the booking app confirmed my appointment for the following day as an "all-day" slot with no specific time.
The next morning passed and nobody showed up, I tried calling for an update. No one answered—I just kept hitting voicemail or the AI system. I resorted to texting, and they finally replied giving me a late afternoon arrival window between 1 - 5pm. A couple hours later, knowing this was a 4-to-5-hour job, I texted back to ask if they really planned on being here until late at night.
That is when their story changed. After a stressful back-and-forth text conversation they finally admitted the job was put on hold as this was a "mistake", they didn't even have a technician available. At which point I asked for a call.
After speaking with them I asked for a manager to call me and ended up going with a different company. At this point I lost complete trust in their reliability. Todd did call to apologize, blame the AI and the tech for not giving me his direct line, and offer to refund the $69 diagnostic fee. But a $69 refund doesn't make up for the massive stress and the actual financial cost of having to rebook my flight.
The initial tech was professional, but Sila's operations, communication, and reliability are a complete disaster. Avoid them if you are on a timeline!
