I wanted to share some feedback regarding the services provided by your finance students. While I appreciate the effort put forth by your organization, there are some areas in which I believe improvements could be made:

Lack of Timely Responses: I have noticed that there can be significant delays in communication and responses when I've reached out to your finance students for assistance. This has sometimes resulted in missed opportunities and added stress.

Inadequate Understanding of Complex Financial Concepts: In some instances, it appears that the finance students may not have a deep understanding of complex financial concepts, which can be crucial for the tasks they are assigned.

Inconsistent Results: The results or recommendations provided by the finance students have been inconsistent, making it challenging to rely on their services for crucial financial decision-making.

Communication Skills: There have been instances where the communication skills of the finance students could be improved, which has caused misunderstandings and frustration.

Communication very poor and waiting time 45 minutes never get back to you I sent documents to reply over 25 working days no response you have to call back all the time

Customer service is abysmal so is the company. Was on hold for 40 minutes to find out why they were demanding personal information from me after I notified them I was leaving the country. Had no explanation aside from "that's what we ask for". Pathetic, and probably illegal.

I am in my third year of a 4 year undergrad degree. Every year I have to fight for funding that I am entitled to. The service is always appalling and cold, unhelpful and rude, and they say it takes up to 6 weeks, well I applied in June, I’m still waiting and have been contacting them every other day for an update. I shouldn’t have to fight for funding I am entitled to, will be paying back and when I’m more than half way through my studies. 6 weeks, no, it’s been 15 weeks now. They have sent my mental health on a downward spiral and I’m so fed up of it. They make you lose motivation for your studies when they make it this hard and keep changing the parameters. I am going to be making a formal complaint very soon.

Incompetent morons smacking their keyboards with a stick. Either that or monkeys on typewriters.

Every single time I have had to interact with SFE, they have somehow cocked up my loan one way or another.

Sometimes they mess up my information multiple times in a single academic year.

I can’t understand how a single company can be so unfathomably incompetent at every level. It’s actually insane that SFE have managed to screw up this much to the point where I’m telling employees what information to add over the phone when they have it right there in the paperwork I’ve sent them.

It would be easier to foster life on Jupiter than it’d be to get SFE to do their job with a modicum of competence.

I've had the pleasure of more than 10 years dealing with this company now. As bad as its ever been, although now all the staff seem to have been on rudeness training. Dealt with flippantly and sarcastically on both my recent calls, blows my mind SLC is so reliably unhelpful.

This has caused untold stress for my family and myself. I attended a course for less than 3 months and now I am asked to pay back for 4 years of funding. Just how this makes any sense I am not sure.

Just re-iterating the experience of many on here . My daughter , who is abroad , has never earned anywhere near the threshold to pay back any of her student loan since leaving Uni 3 years ago . Yet she is bombarded with letters saying her debt and interest thereof is 'racking up' . Now over £3000 in 'debt' but as stated NEVER earned enough per year to have had to pay back anything. Despite providing all the info. they ask for , it's ignored and we get yet another pro forma letter saying they need more info . She is in the middle of the Australian bush...how the heck is she supposed to sort it if they won't listen to what she has told them ?! An absolute joke of a government dept !!!

I wouldn't even give them 1 star...
Most of their staff are untrained, don't know what they do, promising, misleading, the other part of the team are rude, heartless, careless!
I thought it's just me, who's being ignored and lied to.

I am absolutely stressed out by this company, I have provided the evidence what needed to stop taking payments more than 4 months ago, they are still taking and bot giving my money back... Opened a complaint, they are not even bothered to respond, just keep extending, saying it's their peak period. They don't care how you feel, taking your hard earned money, the more you earn, the more they take, and when you log in online, after each payment, the remaining balance is even higher than before... Bunch of liars, thieves and careless individuals....

I write this on behalf of my son, who has been messed around with different info every time he calls to try and sort his loan out, it's beyond a joke, is this a company who enjoys stressing young students out?

Chris Lamer... Yes you, the Cheif Executive officer of this government organisation, Get off your fat lazy a.. , do something for your most probable exstrorniste salary and sort this company out... Have you seen the reviews of this company you oversee??.. Its a disgrace

Absolutely useless service.. don't waste your time by calling them

Please anyone out there help me out with SLC , they are absolutely heartless and dreadful to our young people who decided to go to university, how on earth are my children been awarded £1400 after proving endless evidence they ask repeatedly.
In my own opinion this company is a targeting young people to put them on stress and mental health issues and they end up in suicide. My first year university daughter called me this morning crying, my heart broke , how does even an 18year old kid survive on £1400 for three months +£ 2000 rent , someone out there please help me I feel like my daughter is not gonna manage and I can’t deal with SLC , I believe they do these things intentionally and they target low class families and poor families with poor income. I find them shady and dangerous. I’m planning to write to my MP and BBC to report this in case something happens to my children it will be on them.
SLC should be stopped and we need a lawyer who can defend us as families who are the victims of SLC , our children are fading into poverty and starvation they can’t work because their lectures are not matching with their time of work, please anyone out there help me out. Thank you😭😭😭😭😭

Reviews speak for themself. Clearly employers are not being trained properly as none of them seem to have a CLUE what they are doing. Been told different information from several people. Horrendous what is going on

An absolute joke. Nigh on impossible to get through to them. When connection is finally established, the operatives are mostly unhelpful and/or thick. Our son has been given inconsistent information, and shifting decision-deadlines, for most of the summer, and now his course has begun. The delays have prevented him from securing his disability grants and it's just not good enough. A national disgrace.

Totally antiquated company who need to come into the 21st century. I attempted to amend my name as I married and they insist on a posted copy of my marriage certificate. I explained that I was a victim of identity theft and would not do this, they would not accept any other means. Come on SLC, up your game. You have an online account, allow people to upload documents and prevent fraud.

It is impossible to contact these people or get someone to help you! I am being charged for loan I did not use. I completed AAT level 3 with a student loan and 3 units of AAT level 4 and they are charging me for 6! I only completed budgeting, financial statement and decision and control with loan assistance. I did the other 3 units self study. I let SLC know at the time, wrote to them and have emailed 2 addresses. I am busy at work in the day and unable to call because the lines are so busy. SLC you are charging me for 2 units you shouldn’t be! CRN 67984887199 I notified Coventry university college I would not be returning on 10/2/17 (yes 2017!) and they managed to get their records right!

This company makes me sick.
Wish I could give minus stars. Such a horrible experience. I dread talking to their useless staff who seem totally unable to help me even after waiting for a long time on hold. After following all their instructions I still am receiving scare mongering emails and letters. All I want to do is log in and pay but their password reset doesn't work so I have to make a telephone call every time.

Over the last 7 years in contact with this company they have only gotten worse in my opinion. Disgusting high interest with no care for the people who took a loan from them to better themselves.

If I could give it 0 stars I would because 1 is overly generous, they’ve made a mistake on my application thinking i live with my mother and her partner when i explicitly said in my hardship form i’m living alone and am in worse position than i was to begin with , i then go to ring them and am told on an automated message the lines are too busy , maybe this wouldn’t be the case if they got it right the first time and didn’t make so many mistakes.

So i sent all the papper work in for them to pay the uni 11 mouths ago i then redid all this 5 mouths ago and now its coming to my second year i cant go back because thay still havent payed the uni iv been calling and have spent probs the bast part of 6h in tole on hold thay dont no what there doing are how to fix it thay said thay lost the first lot of paper work even thow i put in on the websit with help of my uni and student finance on phone helping thow it now my 3rd attempt wont be sorted in time to go on to my next year iv allready sined the student home stuff and if i dont get in uni i got no were to leve for the year and still got to pay the 5k to 6k thay have destroyed my mental heath all because thay cant do the job thay are payed to do i allready lost my home and all my stuff because someone stole my identity and took loans in my name iv had to deal with my grand mouth with cancer and so much more and i was so happy to finaly get a roof over my head agen but looks like i be living in my car now so thank you for messing my life up more and pushing me to the point i just want to end it i cant cope with it no more iv lost everything and when iv tryed to fix it you scrowed me for 11 mouths i dont no if i will have a home this coming monday are food

Received numerous letters dated days apart giving conflicting details. Hours wasted trying to get thru to advisors who are unsure of what to do / put me on hold and never return to the call. Just a really frustrating experience and obviously done on the cheap - this will often be young adults' first experience of a government agency and its appalling.
