Well provided generally - bathrooms and bedrooms good . layout works for large family multi generation group.

A little disappointing that the serving dishes, cutlery etc a bit basic with some things missing that you may need for big groups.

Perfect for a large family get together, all bedrooms have own bathroom. Very clean and tidy on arrival. Outside space is private and good for adults and children. Only downside the pool temperature was cold and lining needs attention.

We stayed at the Princehay Barton in Somerset. From the moment we arrived Sarah and Jane were welcoming showing us around the property. The fresh flowers and humongous chocolate cake was a bonus. We were a group of eight adults, three children and two dogs. We all loved the well kept indoor spa room,. the cinema room was a huge hit all around and we fell in love with the outdoor room. So intimate and cosy for our birthday celebration.

Kingshay Barton is fantastic. All our guests were bowled over by it. Whilst the photos show the facilities, they can’t convey how immaculate the place is – spotlessly clean and frequently redecorated to keep it looking fresh. All the appliances etc work well; I don’t recall anything that didn’t. They even have a hot and cold dog shower to clean muddy pooches!
This is a superb base for a large group: lots to do in the area, close to the coast, train station only 0.5 mile away. We had excellent weather so spent most of the time out and about. We never even got to use the cinema. But if it’s raining there’s plenty indoors with the swimming pool, hottub and sauna, table tennis, pool, loads of board games and areas just to lounge around. Even TVs at the end of the bath, in those rooms that have one. Lots of outdoor areas for sunny days. The Bothy is a great place for an evening meal, whether cooked on the barbeques or in the main kitchen – more intimate than the main room.
Sarah, the manager gave us a thorough introductory tour when we arrived and, living locally, was always available if we needed. On the few occasions we contacted her she was very helpful, even supplying a couple of extra kitchen utensils we felt would be useful. She also organised very efficiently some interim bedroom cleans and linen changes for midweek guest changeovers.
Our only gripe is about Sleeps 12, the booking agency. We found them difficult to deal with, for example wanting to know the ages of all our guests (all adults, mainly over 60), a request we refused to comply with as we felt it was unnecessary and intrusive. Also an excessive number of emails about the need for guest details, room configurations and payment of the security deposit sent weekly from several weeks ahead of when they were needed. But all that was outweighed by the excellence of the accommodation.

An absolutely fabulous house. Really organised with everything you need plus more. Attention to detail & practicality.

It was a perfect location and set up for our group very clean and well kept. Could do with a few more mugs as they were 12 of us.

Incredible from start to finish. Dominic was informative and present when ever needed. The facilities and views were breathtaking. Everything was modern and spotless. Could not recommend enough.

Great venue plenty of room in the property for 12 people and 2 dogs. Booking went smoothly and all promises were met. Just a little improvement to the gateway entering the property would be an excellent addition. We had a great time and thank you

This was our second stay at Whimbrels Barton as it really is the perfect place for a cross- generational stay. Our family ages ranged from 71 to 3 and everyone had a marvellous time.
The house is beautifully appointed and the separate cottages are such a great feature. My son-in-law was in his element preparing a fabulous meal for us on the Saturday night in the wonderfully equipped kitchen.
The booking process was really easy and the team at Sleeps12 were very helpful whenever I had a query.
Thank you for such a memorable time, I would love to think we will return one day.

We paid £3,300 for a four-night wedding stay, expecting a beautiful experience. Instead, we spent almost every day dealing with broken facilities, maintenance visits and endless phone calls.The music system didn’t work. I became trapped in an upstairs bathroom due to a faulty lock and had to shout from the balcony for help. The toilet broke, was repaired, then failed again within an hour, leaving our wedding guests flushing it with buckets!The hot tub was another disaster. The water was low, dirty and smelly. When Bill arrived, he immediately questioned how the water could be missing, claiming it had been fine on Monday. We then discovered standing water and equipment underneath. After approximately six chemical tablets were added, I developed a severe rash following its use and contacted my GP.The BBQ didn’t work, and the fireplace remote was broken. We were told the previous guests had broken the remote, meaning they already knew about that issue!Almost every complaint was met with “Oh, I’m sorry, I wasn’t aware.” Regarding the BBQ, Claire even suggested we might not have switched it on correctly!For £3,300, surely the property should be thoroughly inspected before guests arrive? Broken facilities should be repaired or disclosed before taking full payment!
Even on checkout day, someone arrived at 9:45am and sat outside waiting for us to leave, despite our checkout time being 10am.But what disappoints me most is the owner’s handling of our complaint.Claire offered £300 compensation, approximately 9% of the booking cost. I explained why this was inadequate considering the disruption to our wedding celebrations. A week later, I am still waiting for a response.We spent four days dealing with their problems, and now I am expected to chase the owner just to receive basic customer service?Taking £3,300 is one thing. Taking responsibility when things go wrong is another.We paid for a special wedding experience, not a property full of maintenance issues, excuses and unanswered complaints.Absolutely appalling experience and complaint handling. I would never book this property again.

The property was amazing. A few additional signs helping to locate the property would have been helpful. The pool was the highlight of our stay. Every generation used it throughout the weekend . The bedrooms in the main property were luxurious as were those on the attached cottage. A thoroughly enjoyable stay for the whole family who ranged from 12 to 80.

Everything was easy from choosing the property, to booking it, to arriving on the day.
The house had everything we required and a great time was had by all.

Perfect for a family gathering of all ages. Facilities excellent, clean and well kept and plenty of room outside for bbqs and outdoor games. Well worth a visit.

Crowcombe house was absolutely perfect for my 40th birthday weekend. We went as a family and were glad to have an ensuite in every room! It felt like the amount of guests staying had really been considered and there was plenty of plates, cutlery, kettles and ovens.

As a nice extra when we arrived there was a bottle of prosecco and a lemon cake for us to celebrate my birthday which was greatly appreciated. There was lots to do for the children and we all really enjoyed the swimming pool.

Would definitely return.

We had the most amazing time, the property was perfect for all our needs! The hosts went above and beyond with every detail! The play park and pool were perfect for the grandchildren and the fenced garden made it safe for the dogs too.
