Have had the unfortunate duty of having power of attorney for a late friends estate which includes selling her property.The property in question is in Overton near Basingstoke,I live in Ilkeston Derbyshire.I have not had any involvement for nearly 30 years in the housing market and no experience in marketing or selling a shared ownership property.Thankfully and luckily Anthony Kean shared ownership re-sales assistant manager.Anthony has been amazing.He has supported advised and guided me through all the processes needed to get the property marketed and up for sale over the last 8 weeks..Anthony has been very patient and regardless of how many times I’ve rang,Emailed with a query Anthony has been quick to respond with the answer.Would not have managed to have got to this stage without him has been a superstar.Cannot thank him enough a real credit to the company.

Yes initially communication was slow but that was more a reflection of the market...definitely over the last few months things have massively improved. I would like to personally thank Pete Hawley for the exceptional support he provided. After completing my affordability application, I was concerned that I had not received a response for over a week. Feeling disappointed, I reached out via LinkedIn to express my concerns. Pete responded the very same day, took ownership of the issue, and immediately looked into it for me. Following Pete's intervention, I was contacted the next day and my application quickly progressed, with a viewing now arranged for next Monday.

I now understand why I’ve had such a bad experience with this company.
At first, I dealt with someone who genuinely seemed willing to help me. Then Sanjay came into the conversation and told me, “I’ll be honest with you, you’re not first in the queue.”
What has disappointed me most is that I was previously told by TMP Mortgage that I was first in the queue and that my mortgage in principle was being processed. I was then given different information and passed from one person to another.
The whole process has been extremely confusing and frustrating. I feel that I wasn’t given clear or consistent information, and unfortunately this has completely changed my impression of the company.
I’m very disappointed with how I have been treated, and I can understand why other people may have had similar frustrations.so I agreed with all the comments, very bad company.

Truly awful. Absolutely no contact whatsoever from Sown. 12 weeks trying to sell our shared ownership property completely wasted. When contacted, Peter said there had been 4 enquiries which he would chase up. Waited a week no further contact, so yet again chased Peter and he has gone on holiday for 2 weeks. This company feels like a scam and a complete waste of time. On their website they only have google reviews - 4.8 stars allegedly. Borderline dishonest.
Avoid if you can. Soul destroying and expensive experience.

After a lengthy process trying to buy a house with other agencies, I found my dream home listed by SOWN. However after asking for my availability, they proceeded to book a viewing for the exact time that I was at work, and therefore missed out on the opportunity to purchase the property. I attempted to call around 5 times over a couple of days to reschedule and they didn't pick up once. Had it not been for the incompetence of the estate agent then this would have been a very different tone of review. Please be careful with becoming attached to a property associated with this company and you'll be unlikely to receive any kind of support or communication from them.

My partner and I applied for a shared ownership property through SOWN weeks ago and passed both stages of the affordability assessment.

We had a call with TMP (a partner of SOWN) yesterday to discuss the final stage. We were told during this call that we were first in line for the property and nearing sign off.

I received a voicemail today from SOWN confirming that we had been signed off by TMP and the property was therefor ours.

I get home from work today with a smile on my face, thinking I had found a home for my wife and three year old son to move into, only to receive a call from SOWN... TMP had not signed us off on the property and SOWN and TMP had instead signed someone else off who viewed the property yesterday and applied for it the same day.

A process that took my partner and I weeks to complete took someone else less than a day. This unknown person viewed the property yesterday for the first time and got assigned the property by 19:00 that night.

Both SOWN and TMP knew that my partner and I had sold our property (STC) and have to move out before the end of September, as this is when our mortgage rate doubles.

I cannot express how angry I am. My partner and I now have to consider renting to avoid losing our buyers and to avoid our mortgage rate literally doubling at the end of September.

Not only is the shared ownership process obviously broken but SOWN and TMP appear to have fast tracked someone else into the property despite telling my partner and I that we were first in line.

I do not recommend shared ownership, or SOWN, or TMP.

I can only hope the person who has been assigned the property in record time genuinely needs it because my family and I are now facing homelessness if we cannot find an alternative.
