Matthew Taylor lawyer and his legal assistant Kirsty McKenzie at Stowe Family Law provide an exceptional legal service. Matthew's grasp of the law and legal issues is superb. He provides prompt, clear and accurate advice. You can hear the cogs turning as he considers your position and works to achieve the best possible outcome without sacrificing integrity or professionalism. He has an excellent legal assistant in Kirsty McKenzie. Both keep client care at the forefront and work at pace. Having used other family lawyers in the past I know how good the services these 2 provide are. I cannot recommend them highly enough - they are a tremendous asset to have on your side in a family dispute/litigation.

I have been attempting my divorce over a number of attempts and for many years and finally got it near completion with Stowes support and help , for which I am truly relieved and grateful. My solicitor was always understanding, highly professional, and available in a timely manner when I needed him . He made sure that I kept on track and firmly but patiently helped me understand what I needed to do at each stage. I think the service was comparably priced to other solicitors I have used, but we did get the job done ! I found emailing, phone calls when necessary, and virtual meetings an efficient way of communicating compared to letters and hard copy filing.
It really helped me that my solicitor was a constant ( and didn’t move on before we had completed), and a consistent contact throughout the process.

I can’t recommend and thank Matthew Taylor and Megan Brookfield from Stowe Family Law (Liverpool branch) highly enough – they were and still are the light in one of the darkest times in my life.

When I contacted Stowe, I was desperate and completely hopeless, having had talks with a couple of other lawyers before I thought that nothing could be done. However, from the first initial contact with Matthew, I felt for the first time that someone is on my side and really wants to help me. But more importantly that finally someone ‘got me’ and knows a way out. My case is a difficult one, complicated by the fact that my previous relationship was dominated by coercive control, verbal and physical abuse against me and my child.

They were very honest about the costs, prospects, timeline and difficulties from the start and updated me throughout the whole process. Matthew got an excellent team on board and constantly ensured that we are in the driver’s seat and prepared for anything that may come. That included the choice of an excellent barrister, who was simply incredible.

While it is easy for someone to see the danger of verbal and physical abuse, coercive control is in parts so subtle it is hard to grasp and not many people understand how isolated, vulnerable, stupid and guilty one is made to feel. But Matthew’s and Megan’s understanding is second to none, paired with their brilliant advice and knowledge, I felt - for the first time – that I had gained control over my life again. There are no words to express my gratitude for this.

I had to endure several days of cross-examination investigating the most private and distressing moments of my life. I wish for no one to ever have to experience this, but Megan especially was there for me every step of the way. She did not just ‘do her job’ and advised me legally, she cared for me in any way that I needed, constantly checked on me and made me feel safe. There are so many little things that she and Matthew did for me throughout, that enabled me to feel less anxious and cope with the whole process.

I’m so thankful to Matthew and Megan for their brilliance and their skills, but mostly for their empathy and their compassion. I know we still have a long way to go, but they have given me so much strength and confidence already. They made what I thought would be only sad and horrible, bearable and even liberating. I never ever want to be in a similar situation again, but if I am, I know I can count on my team. I’ll be forever grateful – thanks ever so much, Matthew and Megan, you two are just amazing.
