Excellent service from start to finish

Staff were readily available to answer any questions and always really helpful. If it hadn't been for their assertive interventions I would possibly still be trying sort out the legal process! Top marks for action and professional representation.

I was particularly impressed with the company’s easily navigable and thoroughly modernised website that provided so many links to comprehensive, step-by-step guides for first-time buyers at auction. Reading, understanding, and then following those guidelines not only made what can seem like an intimidating process much simpler and more achievable, but ultimately lead to me successfully purchasing an auction lot. I couldn’t be more thrilled with the outcome I was able to achieve, and all following communication during the exchange of contracts process has been very timely and prompt, so overall many thanks to the team at Strakers!

My experience was very positive and I found everyone I dealt with to be courteous and efficient. The whole process was very streamlined.

This is a review for Strakers lettings specifically.
We rented our property out with Strakers for 2 years. Our property was in immaculate condition with a recent renovation. The agent that so say looked after our property has since left Strakers, but she has left chaos in her wake.
Strakers do a so called regular inspection, which in their own words is just superficial! I now realise our property was slowly deteriorating and Strakers took no action. They do not even do a pre check out inspection, so give no opportunity to inform tenants to rectify things, which I was not aware of when we set out with them. Having rented twice myself and having a check out inspection with both I thought this would be standard best practice!
Following this there has then been a multitude of errors including reports being sent to our tenant without my approval, no information on the claims process and all ultimately resulting in no communication from strakers until I raised concern, that I hadn't heard anything.
I'm left thousands out of pocket, Strakers accept no liability even though they informed me there was errors on their staff members part as she had not done a number of things she should have. Basically I'm left to pick up the pieces again.
I would not recommend Strakers lettings to anyone. Do not entrust your property with them unless you don't care how it is returned to you and are happy to figure out all the processes on your own.

Straker`s Staff communicated very well & were unfailingly helpful & pleasant. There was a bit of confusion in the early days, with the Sale board not displaying "Viewing by appt only" & not sited very well. That was quickly rectifies within a few days.

Great communication throughout and a really personable service. Felt well supported and advised throughout, especially having been let down by another estate agent and auction sale previously. Excellent customer service, knowledgeable, trustworthy and worked hard for us. Cannot recommend Charlie and team more highly. A great result and happy customers. Thank-you!

We rented our house for 10 years through Strakers when we moved abroad with work. When we engaged Strakers they said our house had a huge "wow factor" as we had invested 12 years of love, time and cash into getting the house to an immaculate standard. Having just seen the condition of our house after a period of complete mismanagement by Strakers we are completely devastated. Our first tenants made numerous unapproved modifications to our house and caused extensive damage, which cost us £10k to 20k to repair when they left. Not all issues were fixed so our second tenants (lovely people) inherited a house and garden in a poor condition.

Our original Strakers agent was relatively effective but failed to highlight any deficiencies until the first tenants left (with unpaid rent and expensive damage). In 2020 Strakers increased their fees and promised better service. The service level nosedived as our new agent had no relevant experience and failed to do the most basic management functions unless we asked her. She failed to notify us when rent reviews were due, failed to understand the most fundamental clauses in the tenancy agreement, and (after prompting her) prepared an end-of-tenancy report which stated that the house was in very good repair. Having just seen our house and garden we quickly spotted a huge number of issues which will cost us tens of thousands of pounds to repair over several months. We need to replace almost all carpets, fix bad damage to our very expensive Rayburn, engage a plumber and electrician to fix numerous problems, completely redecorate the entire house and start again with what was a beautiful garden. We are heartbroken at what has happened to our house and disgusted with the complete lack of care by Strakers.

We rented a property through Strakers for the past 4 and half years and found the experience to be pleasant and seamless but would like to thank Nicky, the property manager based at the Devizes office who has been a constant of support and polite professionalism throughout the time and would make us want to use Strakers again in the future.

I have used Strakers for many years now and have always had friendly helpful service, and my recent experience was no exception.
Abbie in the Chippenham office and Helen and Graham in Devizes have been particularly helpful and good to deal with, making the whole letting process pretty painless. Thoroughly recommend.
