Highly recommend TaalBoost if you're looking to improve your Dutch quickly! I wanted to get to a decent level before moving to the Netherlands, and mostly relied on self-study before I decided to join a course at level 4. I was so pleased with how much I was able to improve in just 6 weeks, so I decided to join another course at level 6 and reached a B2 level just before moving here!

Managing to make courses interesting and engaging over zoom is no easy task, but the teachers at TaalBoost did a great job! As with all language learning, grammar and vocabulary repetition is unavoidable, but the courses balanced these well with other engaging activities and some good banter in-between.

The teachers are super helpful and patient. I had Killian for the level 6 course and I really enjoyed his lessons. At this level, I think our biggest challenge is to speak spontaneously. Killian did a great job challenging us to speak while also creating an environment were it felt very safe and comfortable to do so.

The intensive courses are indeed intensive, so you will need to be prepared to put in the work, but the pay-off is absolutely worth it and the teachers really helped keeping the motivation up.

The registration process was easy and straight-forward, and Joost was very helpful and responded quickly to any questions I had.

Overall, my experiences have been very positive and I would highly recommend their courses for anyone looking to improve their Dutch quickly in a friendly and motivating environment:)

I signed up for a Dutch language course at TaalBoost, hoping to accelerate my civic integration. What I got was a life-enriching 6-week experience.

Mother Teresa once said that a life not lived for others is no life at all. This is truly the feeling I got when I walked into the [virtual] room where Tommy, the Thursday lecturer, facilitated. Tommy's exemplary ambassadorship, widespread understanding of the intricate Dutch tapestry, and ability to "laat de kwartje vallen" are simply remarkable. Anyone who gets to learn from Tommy is blessed because he is up there with the very best in his field - He is one of those people in life who truly wants you to win.

I attended the virtual evening classes which turned out very useful for me as someone who directly joined A2 class (of course after a preliminary test to check my level). Kaylin is very sweet, patient, and helping. She can be a great Dutch teacher. Overall, very good experience along with our batch.
Sofia was strict, yet fun- Right balance. She made sure we answer the questions during the class, which helped with the learning process.

Very nice course for learning and practicing dutch. I strongly recommend following these levels.

Tommy was great and super enthusiastic! It was particularly great that he used the white board document a lot and so there was a great record of what was discussed and this was super useful for discussion! Also very useful to bring in all kinds of real life examples and give additional things that people say apart from what was in the book. Brilliant!

Killian was super great and very chilled and such a natural teacher. He was really great at encouraging good pronunciation and the class was super relaxed which is very helpful for learning.

I attended the classroom intensive which is aimed at beginners. Despite this it appeared there was an assumption of prior knowledge of the language. The amount of material to be covered each day seemed more than the time available - everyday the tutor would comment on 'skipping this bit' in order to get through what they needed. It may make sense to lengthen the day slightly to allow thorough coverage? There is a lot of homework, which is fine and I expected this. It was not reviewed in any detail, or at all in the class - and couple of times the tutor simply asked 'any problems with the homework?', or did not mention it. Within the homework were occasionally written tasks to complete and then send to the teacher. I completed these but never had any response at all. Maybe not helped but the fact that each day involved a different tutor, although in some way this was nice because it meant exposure to different styles. Overall, the experience was intense which I enjoyed, with tutors speaking Dutch soon into the course, which I also enjoyed the challenge of. Some aspects were covered far too quickly to sink in, such as the alphabet - listen once and expected to know it, some of the grammar was covered too quickly as well. Generally the standard of tutors was good, the materials helpful and the cost reasonable. I may consider a future course with Taalboost but am uncertain. Realistically, I feel that I need to repeat the level I covered with a different company before I can progress up the levels.

I really didn't like my online course - I'm disappointed with what I got out of it, and I always did my homework. It was only A0 but was still hoping to come out of it with a bit more usable language. The pace felt really slow and boring, and it didn't keep my attention at all. The teachers were very nice though, very positive and encouraging.

Gillis is a super nice and friendly teacher, he focuses on the details and always does his best to explain things in a way that everyone in the class can understand.
Melle is a nice, funny and friendly teacher. I like the way he teaches - lots of exercises to encourage us to speak more in Dutch.
I hope to have have them both as teachers again : )

Charlotte is a great teacher, full of humor and knowledge! I love lessons with her. Tommy always makes sure the lessons are fun and informative. The kahoot quizzes and other activities make the lessons exciting and the knowledge stick.

I had a great and productive time at Taalboost! Tommy and Melle are amongst the best teachers there. The class size and setting are perfect for interactions. Mistakes are encouraged, so students can learn without feeling the pressure. All in all, great school, great curriculum, great teachers!

I really like Torkan and Killian even the substitute teachers. All of them emphasized the grammar rules and even wrote more examples and explanations in the whiteboard. I’ll be back to enroll in fall.

Taalboost is amazing! great teachers and great atmosphere, I liked in person classes :)

The two trainers had two very different teaching styles, but they were both very capable and enthusiastic language trainers who obviously put in a lot of effort in preparing for the lessons. I was also pleasantly surprised at how well they were able to get the most out of online tools (e.g. Zoom, Kahoot, Google Docs) for their online language lessons.

Tommy was exceptional. By far the best language teacher I have learned from. His lively but focussed manner resulted in all class members engaging fully, making learning both productive and a pleasure.
Jinke was both supportive and kind in her teaching style. No question was to stupid to ask (even when we asked the same question 100 times!). She created a very safe environment to learn in.
I always received prompt and clear replies from Joost

I had a great experience taking in this class. It's very easy to understand and practical. In every week I have learned more and more and it helps me improve my dutch skills a lot. Thank you so much.
I will rate 5/5 for the teachers and the course content for the level of A1.

The maximum number of students per class is way too high (12), although in my case this dropped to 3 people by the time the course was over due to students dropping out... Also, unfortunately, the teachers I have had so far are often incompetent in the sense of not being able to explain the rules of the language properly. On the other hand, the school uses good materials, is relatively cheap and there is good support from the administration.

I had a blast, from the first week towards the 6th in a Dutch intensive course. The teachers were very engaging and the amount of homework and self-study material was great! 5/5!
