Koala Go is an absolutely phenomenal program, but even better, it is a phenomenal company.

The program has 3 components that make it outstanding for teaching in--1) an interactive whiteboard that I can prepare ahead of time with slides for presenting material. The student and I each have control of the board at the same time. (No more sharing control with my student and fighting over the mouse!) 2) an interactive co-browser where I can share Internet sites and also have Koala Go drawing tools that overlay the content, allowing me to add clarification and direct them to key points (and again, we each have our own mouse pointer) and 3) an amazing 3D virtual learning world that provides so much engagement for the learner.

Koala Go is an amazing company because it has thought of everything a teacher needs to fuel student creativity and joy in learning while managing any potential behaviors. Teachers can control the tool access that students have, and they can also use a focus mode that brings a student's attention to the material if they are wandering around the 3D world a little too much or if they just need the material to be zoomed in size. Most importantly, the Koala Go team is on call 24/7 with team members stationed around the world for continual service. No matter where you are, there's always someone available to hop on with you and troubleshoot. Note that I do not need to use this amazing, top quality tech service very often, but when I do, I am so grateful they have LIVE humans who immediately respond to you, not bots! There is no "waiting to connect you to an agent" and wasting 10 minutes of your life. The service is immediately available, and a warm, lovely, friendly human is available to help you. :) Finally (promise), the Koala Go team is always taking suggestions, and they have incorporated many teacher recommendations for improving this already wonderful product.

I am a dyslexia tutor, and I have seen first-hand how much this program helps reduce the anxiety my students might have otherwise had around reading tutoring (an area of weakness). So happy I was told about Koala Go! It is perfect for teaching children online. I have been using Koala Go for 4 years. No other program has Koala Go's interactive tools. Being able to have students write, type, and move objects on the screen is extremely valuable when teaching an Orton-Gillingham reading lesson. Another plus is having everything saved within the program and easily accessible during the lesson. This helps keep the lesson streamlined and time-efficient.

Koala isn't just a meeting platform, it is made for teaching and filled with the tools and extras you need to make your online lessons pop, all organized into one place. The whiteboard tools, shared browser and playground offer a variety of teaching environments and I can save all of each student's work in their own spot. The 24/7 online help has saved me from technical jams more than once. It's the best!

Koala Go is an absolutely INCREDIBLE online teaching platform - so much better than Zoom, LessonSpace, etc. In particular, the co-browser tool allows my students to interact directly with digital lesson slides, games, practice exercises, and other activities. The whiteboard is very intuitive and functional, including being able to upload worksheets or slides to annotate. For my students though, what they LOVE and keeps them coming back is the Koala playground zone - a kind of Minecraft-style 3D learning world, where you can easily build immersive role-playing activities, virtual escape rooms, etc full of educational quizzes and practice questions.

The other thing that really makes Koala Go stand out to me as an online teacher is how amazing their support is. They have a 24/7 help chat that responds (with a real person) within moments, live in class, to solve any tech issues. This is something no other virtual teaching platform I've tried has been able to match.

Before COVID, I tutored all of my students in person. Then, almost overnight, everything changed, and I had to move my tutoring business online. Like many people, I started with Zoom because it was the only platform I knew.

Koala Go has (by far) the BEST customer service of any company I've ever interacted with! All of the employees really care about you and do everything they can to help! It's also the most fun educational platform for the students, so it keeps their attention, and they learn faster!

Koala is my favorite online classroom! The live chat feature for tech support has been very helpful, especially for connecting with my students in China. Students love the gems and the playground!

Disappointed with Teach with Koala – No Transparency, No Refunds

This was my first time using Teach with Koala, and unfortunately, it left a bad impression. I signed up for a month-to-month subscription to try the platform. However, no one made me aware of any terms and conditions upon signup—not during registration, nor in any of the more than 20 emails they sent me enticing me to join.

This morning, another subscription fee was deducted from my account. Since I won't be using the platform this month (as schools only reopen next month), I requested a refund. The response I received was cold and unapologetic: “We don’t do refunds. Just cancel before the next deduction.”

That’s the worst customer service I’ve encountered. I feel misled and disappointed. If you're going to send users dozens of emails on how to use the platform, the least you can do is be transparent about your billing policy.

I would advise new users to be cautious and dig for their terms and conditions yourself, because they won't make them clear to you. I feel scammed, and I won’t be recommending this platform to other educators.
