I have been ready at 00:00 to book tickets 2 months in advance (most early option)
First website went down, after the agenda is broken so you can't go to the correct month.
Resellers book different and don't have this problems. As soon the agenda option was working all top floor tickets were already sold out. Absolutely 0 chance. Feels like 1 big scam.

Purchased tickets off them
Purchased tickets off them. Earliest time I could get in Australia was 12.30.
Tour companies must get the earlier ones. Turned up at 10.30 as it was pouring rain and saw no people or buses there. They told me I could not go up until my time or buy new tickets. So I actually could go up if I paid again. I asked 3 times at both lifts, not a person around except 6 staff chatting at each, but no they would not let me go up.
Just awful
Just awful. Bought tickets online on the official website, they didn't arrive by mail even though I received a confirmation of payment mail and note that they would shortly arrive. Incompetent organisation. Shame.
Awesome views, horrible security staff.
Awesome views let down by incredibly rude security staff. I was waiting outside the toilet for my family and a female security guard came over to me and my sister and said "AY, AY, AY, move. You can't stand here. Get out." Absolutely awful attitude and somewhat ruined the experience. Horrible woman. Maybe learn to communicate with other humans properly or find a job where you don't have to talk to people because you treat them like dirt. Lift/elevator staff were fairly friendly, thank goodness. 5 stars for the view, 1 star for security staff!
Unpolite attitude at Tour Eiffel
Tour Eiffel, the place and view is so fine, and a good experience. but I have to say, that at the entrence I did’nt feel welcome. I tried to be polite, as my french son-inlaw have tought me, and I said Bonjour to the young ticketinspektor. He repeated loudly Bonjour with an american accent and he and his colleague laughed loudly at me. Everybody arround could hear it.
I was not the only time the young man were unpolite. In the tour I asked for Way Down?, and the same young man repeated it again with an american accent, and he and the other inspector laughed loudly again. Actually I am not American
I feel sorry for your staff, if they have nothing better to do, than to mob the guests. Is that french courtesy, I hope not.
Horrible experience
I went with my husband and 2 kids during Christmas holiday. The queue was really long and disorganised. Not child pram friendly at all. You have to fold it to get into the lifts so if you're baby is sleeping this is far from being ideal. The toilets were horrendous, my husband threw up after going with my son who needed a wee. The view is nice but not worth the price, the wait and the frustration. Cherry on top of the cake on our way down the lift broke. It was manually released and shaking each time that it was going down. People were panicking inside the lift and my kids were screaming and crying. Once we reached the ground floor the doors were locked as we were not leveled so ground staff had to manually released the doors. I could see them laughing while we were all in distress. The compensation for this horrible ride was a hot chocolate.... Honestly such a waste of time and money. I can't believe that for the price we can't have clean toilets and functioning lift... What a broken landmark

Tried to buy a ticket for the Tourre Eiffel with 6 different cards...SIX. DIFFERENT. CARDS. None of them worked, and they were all accepted cards in the info of the sites...worst payment experience I ever had.

Worthless
Worthless. Tried for 2 weeks to buy online tickets with different creditcards. Errors all over. Only response from customer service: "You probably typed in a wrong number".
To be short, impossible to buy tickets. No service (even the contact form on the website is not working). You would expect attractions like this to have their shit together....
An Unpopular Opinion: The Eiffel Tower - A Visual Masterpiece, A Tourist Trap
An Unpopular Opinion: The Eiffel Tower - A Visual Masterpiece, A Tourist Trap
Dear Reader,
I feel compelled to share a perspective that might be considered controversial, especially for those planning a trip to the romantic city of Paris. While the Eiffel Tower undeniably stands as an iconic symbol and a magnificent feat of architectural engineering, a truly breathtaking structure to behold from a distance, I must vehemently argue against the pervasive hype surrounding the experience of actually *visiting* and *entering* it. In my honest opinion, making this a prime attraction to dedicate your precious travel time and hard-earned money to is not just overrated; it's an utterly unnecessary endeavor.
The entire process of gaining access is a testament to its over-commercialization. The Eiffel Tower notoriously overbooks its reservations, whether you're aiming for the first floor, the second, or the highly coveted summit. This leads to frustratingly long queues, crowded spaces, and a general sense of being herded rather than experiencing a world-renowned landmark. And then there's the journey itself: ascending in the lifts. It's truly baffling to witness grown adults, seemingly having never encountered an elevator before, incessantly videoing their ascent as if it were some groundbreaking technological marvel. This detracts from any potential sense of wonder and transforms what should be a unique experience into a mundane, albeit claustrophobic, ride.
Frankly, this magnificent iron lady should be left to serve its true purpose: an exquisite visual trinket for the city of Paris. Its beauty is best absorbed from afar – from the comfort of a charming Parisian apartment, a cozy hotel room with a view, or a leisurely stroll through a nearby park. From these vantage points, its grandeur and intricate design truly shine, untainted by the commercial chaos within. Anyone who succumbs to the pressure, or gets "suckered into" purchasing tickets to go inside, is, regrettably, just burning their money. I cannot stress this enough: the internal experience of the Eiffel Tower is simply not worth the financial outlay.
Consider, for a moment, what constitutes a truly worthwhile tourist attraction, a place where your money genuinely buys you an enriching, memorable experience. Think of the awe-inspiring Giza Pyramids in Egypt, steeped in millennia of history and mystery. Or the sprawling, meticulously curated Kew Gardens in London, a botanical wonderland. Imagine the sheer historical weight of monuments like the legendary Statue of Zeus in ancient Greece. Even a simple hike to the iconic Hollywood sign offers a unique perspective and a sense of accomplishment.
Then there are the cultural powerhouses: any Madame Tussauds museum offers interactive fun; the vast collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the British Museum in London, or the Academy of Motion Picture Art Museum in Los Angeles provide unparalleled educational and artistic immersion. These are places designed for discovery, for learning, for genuine engagement, and for spending your hard-earned money wisely. The Eiffel Tower, on the other hand, falls woefully short in comparison.
And regarding its funding? If the Eiffel Tower requires financial support, perhaps Gustave Eiffel’s relatives could sponsor their ancestor's iconic idea. Or, like any other entrepreneurial venture, it could seek out investors or corporate sponsors. Relying on overpriced, underwhelming tourist experiences to sustain it feels less like preservation and more like a calculated scam.
In conclusion, admire the Eiffel Tower, photograph it, let it be the picturesque backdrop to your Parisian dreams. But please, resist the urge to go inside. Your wallet, your sanity, and your overall travel experience will thank you.
Be prepared
The staff are extremely rude and ignorant, but once you get past them then the structure is well worth a visit. The stairs are HELL but are cheap for admission. The food/drink prices are of course astronomical for a captive audience. I’d say go once. Pay for the lift, do all three floors and make it a one off special experience
