Super helpful, supportive and a great event to be apart of

The access to experienced business mentors to give me advice to help grow my business when I don't have the budget for recourses has been invaluable.

My Start up loan application and communication with Adam the staff team was Fantastic! After submitting all the documents, including a detailed business plan, which took over 100 hours to write, I was asked questions relating to the franchise option I was looking at. Then came the decline, with no alternative offered. I've checked who they won't lend to and franchises is not on the list! Had it been, I wouldn't have wasted my time. I did explain that the only way to do it 'so they might approve it' would mean me needing to borrow in excess of £20k and be a larger risk to me. All I wanted was to borrow £5k to get my business up and running. So, if you need to borrow for a franchise, don't bother as they aren't interested in helping you!

I started my journey with Virgin Startup with high expectations due to their renowned support for diverse entrepreneurs. My experience as a mentor with StartOut, where we assisted over 19,000 LGBTQIA+ entrepreneurs globally, and my success as the UK Champion Public Speaker, highlighted my dedication and potential.

Unfortunately, my experience with Virgin Startup did not meet these expectations. I encountered a lack of appreciation and support, which was disappointing given the initial promise.

I hoped that the UK would offer a more progressive environment compared to Italy, where biases are common. However, I faced similar challenges here, raising concerns about Virgin Startup’s commitment to inclusivity.

It’s disheartening to see that these issues persist, even in new environments. When I recently tried to reconnect with them, I found the same dismissive attitude, leaving me questioning, "Why is he still here?"

I hope for a future where organizations truly live up to their values and offer the respect and support every founder deserves. 🌟

I filled out loads of forms months ago ,what a joke of a service, nothing happens now ,keep contacting them but getting nowhere, try elsewhere, this Service is not fit for purpose

Having previous experience from a family member using Government backed start up loans through Transmit I expected to receive the same service. I prepared my Business Plan, taking time to make sure it spoke for itself. I was partnered with Virgin Loans and having to send in my bank statements - then more bank statements - then statements from other accounts ! Then within a day it was declined . I have made it clear on the Business Plan, the strategy in place for seeing through times of hardship. The business itself is extremely viable and profit will be easy. I am in it for long term gain. What is the point of a solid, fool proof business plan if the decision is based solely on personal affordability. If one had the personal affordability for starting a business then where is the need for business start up loans. My advice to anyone, ask to be partnered with Transmit if possible. My relative had a 10 day turn around for £20k loan, she does not have the best credit and certainly did not have personal affordability for a £20k loan. Her business is booming. I am disappointed and stuck for months now as I dont think i can reapply

Absolutely the best experience you could ask for, both Chloe Fenn and Alyson Eyval were brilliant, they were very professional and extremely knowledgeable, which made the whole process a pleasurable experience couldn’t ask for anything more from them. I would recommend them to anyone .

Just waste your time
They always looking for some thing new from you specially things you never can provide.
Their business advisors just try to declined your application.

A brand that truly cares about their customers and provides them with the tools to win! Virgin StartUp to sum up in one word is ‘community’. I would encourage every start up to sign-up and start their entrepreneurial journey with Virgin Startup. Their excellent webinars, master classes and access to mentorship are just a few of the great services available. However beyond these great services, are some of the most amazing individuals within Virgin StartUp, I personally feel are rooting for your success.

Absolutely phenomenal!
I have used the Virgin start-up loan on two different occasions and every time time the team there has been extremely helpful. They have a great system in place and they guide you through the process. Kieran has been our advisor and he has done a phenomenal rapid and successful job.

The worst decision of my life. I was offered the start up loan after months of planning and once I received the loan from virgin which actually happened to be a payday loan with street uk they cut me off completely and never contacted me again. I haven’t heard back from them in the last 4 years when they sold me the loan with support throughout the entire process.

Not sure why there are just bad reviews I had an excellent experience. Started application on a Thursday night, which involved a brief form with personal information, followed by credit check. After this was told I would be assigned a business advisor to go over and help my with my application. I filled in business plan/ cash flow/ survival budget all which were easy to do using the templates provided. My advisor called me on the Sunday on his day off and asked me to add a few more things CV and proof of profits. This was done Sunday evening. He checked on Monday and said all was okay and then submitted my application. 2 days later on the Wednesday I was approved. All in all I thought it was an easy simple and very fast process. I would say to better prepare for this process have all your business plan and forecasts and projections ready this will help the process go much smoother. Thanks to start ups I can now move on and grow my business I am very grateful to them and also for the support I will receive since being approved. I highly recommend small businesses to reach out and give this a go.

First time is a personal loan , then is a business loan , then is again a personal one .
Wake up guys ! Is no people on this earth will ever like your services.

Very bad experience. After wasting a lot of time, discussions over the Business plan, they just stopped. No feed-back, no answer to my e-mails, no answer on my application.
And because I chose them I can't apply using a proper StartUp Loan company.
If you are looking to apply to StartUp Loans, avoid this company.
