That Wiggett did a good job

The electrician attended today and has carry out a safety inspection. But also repaired the lights which were not working. He was polite , seemed to know what he was doing and cleaned up afterwards. As I was only expecting an inspection, I was v happy all round

Lovely Home and Excellent Developer

Myself and my partner purchased our first home on the Lowton Oaklands development in February 2025.

Right from the beginning June from Wiggett Homes was fantastic, keeping in regular contact with us and guiding us through the process, swiftly responding to all of our enquiries.

We couldn’t be happier with our first home and have had minimal snags, all of which the aftercare team have already began dealing with.

We would recommend anybody to purchase a home from Wiggett Homes!

Great service from Mick

Great service from Mick, today I had a service conducted at my property. In spite of me missing the original appointment due to my door bell not working. Mick turned around and completed a full and comprehensive service and fixed my door bell :) Mick made my electric safe, and also changed the fire Alarm. Mick was respectful and friendly and explained which elements of the electrics required attention to make them safe. 5 star service all round

THANK YOU JUNE!

I was a first time buyer and was unsure of many aspects when it came to buying a home. From my first meeting with June, I felt an instant connection, warmth and genuine want to guide me and ensure the process was as transparent and stress free as possible.
From start to finish, June was there and I will be forever thankful to June for making my leap on to the property ladder one to remember.

June is AMAZING

Purchasing a home from Wiggett's has been an absolutely amazing experience, largely in part to the incredible sales team. June was incredible from start to finish and really did everything possible to make the stressful experience of purchasing a home into a seamless one. I can't thank June enough for not only supporting me through the purchase, but also the follow ups post purchase that have been so personable. June is an asset to Wiggett Homes.

Best move yet!

We recently moved into our new Wiggett home in Lowton and we absolutely love it! We had a short snagging list, all of which were sorted out quickly with the minimum disruption. We found June in the Sales office to be friendly, super helpful and communicative. Ian, the site manager was an absolute gem, nothing has been too much trouble for him and the on site team. This was a big move for us as we downsized after almost 30 years from our family home. To date, its the best move yet!

Excellent service and aftercare

We moved in to our new home six months ago and can honestly say that we cannot fault Wiggetts. June, Ian and all the staff that we dealt with were all very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We had a couple of minor snags after moving in which were reported and rectified swiftly. The house was finished to a high standard and we are so pleased that we chose this house for our family home.

Not built to building regulations

We bought our new build in 2018 and had problem after problem for quite a while. The after sales team were appalling and the managing director rude. We won our case initially with NHBC and they forced Wiggets to rectify some issues. Now 8 years down the line we have extensive water damage from what has been identified as a major fault. Wiggets didn't build the roof to building regulations and there are important aspects actually missing. The NHBC warranty isn't worth the paper it's written on - as we're so far down the line the repairs have to be above £1850 for the NHBC to even consider paying out. Don't be reassured that Wiggets have to answer to the NHBC. Wiggets can do what they want and not be held accountable.

Gaskells = Horrible Injustice and ignorance!

We bought a flat in Saddleworth built buy Wiggett and run buy their appointed company Gaskells. And it is the worst managing company to run private block of flats. We have multiple problems with drinkers and anti-social behaviour caused 6 visits of police only for 2 last months. We installed a couple doorbells cameras that helped to ease situation. However, without asking majority of residents Gaskells took off the doorbells cameras. We checked with police officer and it is our right to protect ourselves, family and private property. On the top of it, the entrance door doesn't work properly from day one, our corridors remind institution than private home as no decorations there. We have a neighbour using BBQ and storing gas bottles on his balcony that is against any fire regulations but Gaskells directors allowed him to keep and use it. We have smashed car recently in our communal parking and no idea who did it as not a single camera there. We don't have a simple table in the hall and all parcels left on the floor next to the entrance. We don't have right to have doormats in front of our doors: it is against fire regulation! (but BBQ is fine?)!. Our multiple letters to Gaskells Directors on behalf of majority of residents left without acknowledgment and answers.
Horrible Injustice and ignorance!

Jane, please could you send a formal complaint to: aftercare@wiggett.co.uk and we will investigate the issues identified, which largely relate to the management services provided by GASKELLS.

We are aware of incidents with drinkers and anti social behaviour and visits by the police, which are currently being investigated. Should there be any criminal behaviour, then it is right that the police are involved and that they should deal with the matter.

Unfortunately, we cannot control, nor are we responsible for the behaviour of individuals. If residents in the apartment block are causing a nuisance to other residents, then there are the tools within the leases for residents to enforce the terms of the lease.

We are disappointed that you have left this review rather than contacting Wiggett Homes directly. We await your email which should clearly document your concerns including all/any lease breaches by date and time for our records.

Plumbing and building snags

Bought a new house in Greenfield, Saddleworth 2021. Have had lots of problems with poor plumbing. Two leaking toilets and a third where the external wall was left exposed from inside. Leaking radiator that ruined laminate floor. Money was sent to compensate for this. All of these faults occurred within two year Aftercare agreement and were sorted. However the radiator problem went on for months.
Now have a leaking shower. Wiggett’s fitted a batch of faulty showers. They were not aware of the fault until problems started after fitting. Instead of contacting all residents to review the showers they have waited until the leaking emerged. I have been informed only three needed attention out of twenty plots.My neighbours have reported to me at least five showers needed attention. I am now outside the two year window when they will sort out snags and they have not reported the shower problem to the manufacturer for me, despite the shower still being under guarantee. No information regarding this manufacturer has been shared until today when Wiggett’s have responded to this review. Wiggett’s had assumed the Aftercare Team have informed me of where to report the faulty shower. In response to this review they have at last given me the company’s details.
Lots of external snags too. Poor pointing and dirty fascia’s not cleaned. Gaps left in external wall. All fixed eventually. I now have a leaking pipe that I will have to pay to get fixed.

Thank you for your feedback.

The issues mentioned in your review (leaking toilets, radiator, pointing and fascia issues) have all been dealt with by our Aftercare team as and when they have been reported to us over the last 2 years. As you mentioned, we have also compensated you for the damage to your laminate flooring.

The Hansgrohe valve issue affected 3 out of 20 plots on this development, all of which were reported and dealt with during their 2 year warranty period. Yours is the 4th, but it has been reported outside of the warranty period. We would not replace all valves ‘just in case’, it would be on a plot-by-plot basis, should issues arise within the warranty period.

I believe you are now dealing directly with Hansgrohe, which is what we would recommend anyone do outside of their 2 year warranty period. The valve issue was not down to ‘poor plumbing’ – this is a manufacturers fault, of which no one could have know about until the showers had been used.

If the leaking pipe you mention is something you have previously reported to us, we will of course come back to rectify this. If any of the above is incorrect, or has been previously reported, please contact our Aftercare team directly and they will be happy to assist you.

We bought an apartment in Saddleworth…

We bought an apartment in Saddleworth in 2019 and we continue to have enduring problems due to very poor build quality. Over the years we have had scaffolding erected several times for many days in an attempt to install cavity trays that should have been done before the properties were released. Materials used on these occasions were simply left strewn besides the property where they remained for over a year. In effect we lived (and continue so to do) on a building site. The response to complaints was generally dismissive and the so called defects are still being remedied. The windows were not properly installed and have leaked from day one. This company is undoubtedly the most unprofessional I have ever dealt with. I would never use them again.

We, together with our managing agents, have been on hand to answer any/all concerns.

The original warehouse was constructed in 1786 and converted to provided residential accommodation in 2019. We have encountered issues largely relating to the non-standard window detailing to the front elevation, however at no point have we walked away from this issue and we are in regular contact with all residents.

The scaffold has not been present for a year, nor have materials been left strewn, and our sub-contractor and managing agent have both recently inspected and discussed this with you.

The scaffold has now been struck and works completed, with all materials removed and the area affected cleaned.

AVOID WIGGETT HOMES

AVOID - DO NOT BUY FROM WIGGETT HOMES.

Everything written in this review is completely the truth.

When we first moved into our home, we were persuaded by the sales team to leave a positive review on our home buying experience. This review of course should now be disregarded as we experienced an abundance of problems after this.

We bought our home in August 2021 and it was not long after that, that our problems began - from leaking toilets, to kitchen appliances being fitted incorrectly, to the worst of our many problems - a leaking roof which leaked for a total of 17 months. As you can imagine we had countless people in and out of our home during this time, for the main problem to have still taken so long.

Although when buying a new build you should expect snagging issues here and there, you generally expect these to be seen to and fixed within the first month or two. Unfortunately that was not the case for us. As a young couple, buying their first ever home together, we wished for a positive experience which is absolutely not what was received. Our experience was completely ruined by Wiggett Homes and we of course lost complete trust in our home as we are constantly expecting another issue to arise. Not being able to decorate a whole room in your house because you suspect it will be ruined by yet another leak in the ceiling is far from what you should have to deal with, especially in a new build home.

We found the directors to be extremely rude, not to mention completely oblivious to how they make their customers feel when dealing with such stressful and sensitive topics. For customers paying such a large sum of money, you expect to be treated with a little respect and understanding - this couldn’t be further from what was received by certain senior members, although I won’t name names.

To sum up the above, I would highly recommend NOT buying from Wiggett Homes. A shocking home buying experience from the start.

Dear Customer, we again apologise for the issues you have reported in relation to the plumbing and roofing, and reiterate that we have confirmed in writing that any further issues reported by yourself in relation to the plumbing issues already reported, and or roofing issues, will be expedited as emergency items, with anything else considered in line with the LABC policy. Most recently, we have attended and remediated a roof leak within 24 hours of reporting. We have also tried to arrange for our maintenance operative to attend to redecorate the spare bedroom, however you have asked us to delay this visit and we await your further instruction.

We again apologise for the number of defects you have encountered and reiterate that this is very unusual for a Wiggett Home. Our Aftercare service is currently in the process of being overhauled and further details have now been issued to yourselves & other customers. We are hoping these changes will have a positive effect on our Aftercare service, which we are continually striving to improve. We have responded to all complaints factually and in accordance with the LABC policy.

New apartment

We had a struggle completing the sale of our house due to land issues but Wiggett Homes were very patient and allowed us extra time which meant we didn’t lose our apartment which is perfect for my husband’s health issues.
After we moved in into our apartment just before Christmas we had a few minor problems which their after sales service or the property management company dealt with quickly and efficiently.
We love our new home which has allowed us to downsize but still given us an extremely large area to entertain our ever growing family.

Great company, great staff, GREAT house purchase

Well well well…where do I start
First off, I have never left a review on anything in my life but this company deserves my time to leave one they have been that good. This is my hand on heart honest review of my personal experience with wiggett homes.
I have just last week completed the purchase of my very first home and what an absolute pleasure it was from start to finish. Our sales rep June is by far one of the most lovely, helpful, honest and caring women I have ever met in my life.
She made the whole process smooth and perfect from start to finish. Any questions or problems and June was there, whether it was her days off or when she was working it didn’t matter, she was there.
Paul was also fantastic and helped us resolve a problem that was no fault of wiggett, great guy and extremely helpful. Then we have Ian the site manager, what a wonderful man he is I would trust him with my life, who along with Natalie and the team built my house which is something out of a brochure and looks even better than what we were hoping and expecting.
It truly is a dream house and we cannot be more happy. Wiggett REALLY DO build great houses that are very well insulated and look amazing.
They also do not rush the snag list like other developers and take extra care and pride as a family run business in making sure your home is perfect, with no faults, for when you move in and stress free for you and your family.
I simply cannot say enough good things about this company and my experience working and buying from them. The best decision I have ever made in my life, my home is perfect and so was the journey with wiggett.
