What kind of tax assessment did you guys do?
The assessment showed €2000+ return and now tax office saying I need to pay ~€200?
What system your tool is based on?
Now I know your argument, you would say “we have already mentioned that the assessment is our best judgment and tax office may come up with some other results also”. But the judgment this wrong? Like 100% wrong? Then why one should trust your tool!
It is understandable if your tool had showed me that I may need to pay the tax office €150, for example, and then tax office says you need to pay us 160. That’s ok, that would be the right judgement your tool would have done.
But, when the judgment is 100% wrong then the tool is merely a slot machine than a tax filing system.
Seriously disappointed!!
After, paying the amount to the tax office, next thing I will be doing is deleting my Wundertax account for good and definitely NOT RECOMMENDING TO ANYONE ELSE!

We recommend that you double-check whether you included all the necessary information in your tax return. You may have forgotten to report some income. You can easily verify this by comparing the income listed on your tax return with the income listed by the tax office.

Extremely unhelpful
I worked in Germany as an intern for 6 months at an English speaking company. I used Wundertax to try and claim the tax I paid back after I returned to the UK (as I never hit the minimum tax threshold). I entered all my information accurately and paid the £30+ fee. This was on 18 August.
I waited and waited to receive my return, but all I got from Wundertax was "If you still haven't received a tax assessment notice 10 weeks after submitting your tax return, you can contact your local tax office directly". So brilliant, essentially what Wundertax has said is "thanks for paying us, now go and do it yourself."
The whole purpose of using Wundertax was to facilitate communication between the German tax office and get my paperwork in order. Wundertax has let me down.

Your frustration about the long processing time of your tax return by the tax office is completely understandable. Unfortunately, under German law we are not allowed to contact the tax office on your behalf. Only a tax advisor whom you have officially authorised can do so.
Our service is designed to make filing and submitting your tax return easier for you. We recommend politely following up directly with your local tax office.
One tip: if you were not required to file a tax return and submitted it voluntarily, you may file an “objection due to inaction” (Untätigkeitseinspruch) after six months. However, this may not be well received by the tax office. For this reason, our recommendation is to first make a friendly inquiry.

STILL doesn't reflect current VAT regulations.
I had enjoyed WunderTax using them for years, but the 2025 form STILL hasn't been updated with the new small business VAT changes 14 months after the change in the law and so therefore won't let you make a tax return and is therefore USELESS.
If they miss something this fundamental what other mistakes are they making. The irony is their advice pages even mention this change in the law!

Die beste Webseite die ich in meinem Leben benutzt habe. Alles lief wie Butter. Die Registrierung ging zack. Ich hab ausversehen die Webseite beendet, meine Daten wurden automatisch gespeichert. Nicht zu empfehlen. In meinem Fall: 4x Steuererklärung darüber abgegeben. Nicht eine ist annähernd an das berechnete Ergebnis rangekommen. Ganz im Gegenteil, jedesmal positive Rückerstattung angezeigt bekommen und letztendlich jedesmal nachgezahlt.

Die Berechnung in wundertax basiert auf den eingegebenen Daten und den geltenden Steuervorschriften. Das Finanzamt kann jedoch zu einem anderen Ergebnis kommen – etwa, wenn bestimmte Kosten nicht anerkannt werden oder zusätzliche Informationen vorliegen, die in der Steuererklärung nicht enthalten waren.

Ausfüllen geht leicht, aber der Prozess nach dem Bezahlen (kein postalisches Versenden möglich und Identifikationsprozess schlug bei uns fehl) ist extrem irritierend. Kundenservice wurde kontaktiert.

Hi Munz, vielen Dank für deine Rückmeldung! Leider hat die Finanzverwaltung zum 1.1.2022 die Möglichkeit abgeschafft, eine Steuererklärung online auszufüllen und postalisch zu versenden. Seither kann man die Steuererkläung nur noch vollständig online oder vollständig auf Papier erledigen.
Wir bedauern, dass Du Schwierigkeiten mit der Identitätsprüfung hattest. Super, dass du dich an unseren Support gewendet hast - Probleme bei der Verifizierung können immer gelöst werden. :)
Das Finanzamt verpflichtet uns zur gewissenhaften Identitätsprüfung - auch zum Schutz deiner Daten. Ich höre gerade vom Support-Team, dass dein Problem gelöst werden konnte. Alles Gute dir!
