It was seamless, expectations were managed well, and the ideas for our yard were beautiful and creative!

Yardzen was amazing to work with. The designs were innovative and complete, going beyond my initial requirements. I was able to make minor adjustments to fit my design aesthetic so that my design was a reflection of my style and needs.

My wife and I purchased Yardzen’s full landscape design package with the expedited option, which came out to about $1,300. Before the process started, we spent a significant amount of time completing their intake questionnaire and providing detailed notes. We outlined specific features we wanted included, placement of elements in the yard, materials we preferred, and the overall aesthetic we were going for. When the first design rendering came back, it was extremely disappointing. Several key elements we had specifically requested were completely missing, and the overall design did not resemble the style or direction we had described. It felt like the designer either didn’t review our brief carefully or relied on a generic template rather than our actual input. Instead of receiving a customized organic design, our yard was designed as if split into equal squares with one feature / design element in each. This was not at all aligned with our preferences or desires. Because of how far off the design was from what we requested, I immediately contacted Yardzen to request a refund. Unfortunately, that request was denied. Instead, they offered additional consultations and revisions. While revisions may work for some clients, the process had already taken longer than expected — even though we had paid for expedited service — and the first draft was so far from our vision that it didn’t feel worth continuing the process and wasting time going back and forth when our project was time sensitive. In the end, I designed the landscaping myself, and the result ended up aligning much more closely with the vision we had originally described. For a service at this price point, I expected a design that clearly incorporated the information we provided and a stronger initial concept. If you have a very specific vision for your space, you may want to think carefully before spending this much on an online design service.

Yardzen did a full landscape of our property and we were very impressed with the level of detail and overall designs. We worked with Kevin the Design Director who was excellent at capturing all our requests and delivering on our vision. We have had so many compliments on the space they designed and were very happy overall with the process and customer service.

I had a great experience with Yardzen. After speaking with a few landscape designers in my area in person, I was not happy with the results. Many designers struggled with my yard design because it is both large and pie shaped. Most designers can easily design a yard that is small and rectangle or even square. It was clear to me after a few meetings with local designers that I needed to find another solution. So, I reached out to Yardzen. There was some work involved in setting up my account and my project. I had to take multiple photos from different angles of the spaces and also upload a short video fore each space to talk through my vision. Additionally, I had to upload the plot plan from my builder. Once that was complete and uploaded, I waited a couple of weeks and received my design and was thrilled. It was absolutely beautiful, especially when compared to the 3d renderings I was given by local designers in my area. They were clearly outclassed by Yardzen. I docked a single star because there were some things missed. At my initial call, I provided HOA design guidelines that referenced plants that were not allowed. Although the design was beautiful, the designer used plants that were on the HOA prohibited list. So, I had to send the design back to Yardzen to replace the prohibited plants with appoved ones. I added some additional critique like removing spikey cacti from the design as well. When I received the revision, however, it seemed as if the designer was different from the original designer. So, trees and plants that I did not request to be removed from the design were, leading to the revised design to be not as beautiful as the first. I did raise the concern to my assigned Project Manager, Hank. He was able to bring the concern to the design team and revise it to my satisfaction. He was accessible and accountable during the whole process, easily reached by either phone, text or email. So, although the design process was not perfect, I am still plenty happy with my experience and backyard design. I would absolutely use Yardzen again at my next house. It was such a struggle before Yardzen to find a designer that could bring my vision to life. Once I was working with them, it was such a relief to trust in knowing they were designing a dream backyard for me. They even provided the list of materials and CAD model so I could share with the HOA for approval and landscape contractor to do the install. An added benefit is that they can provide a budgetary quote for the cost of the yard they designed. So, I was able to use this as a baseline when budgeting. I wasted months and months with landscape contractors that said they were also designers and were not able to show me a design that is both functional and beautiful. I wished I would have just started with Yardzen in the first place. I was once overwhelmed with having to figure out what to do with my backyard, but with Yardzen, I now feel truly "zen" about how my yard will turn out when it is finished and installed.

Yardzen has turned my ideas into a clear detailed rendering that portrays exactly what I have been trying to communicate to contractors. Their process has allowed my ideas to be understood clearly which has led to an amazing outcome! Im much more excited to start working with contractors now that my vision is clear!

I recently collaborated with Yardzen to revamp my backyard, which had become outdated since we moved in five years ago. The space featured a koi pond and plants that were no longer visually appealing. Despite my attempts to refresh the area, I realized I had made some costly mistakes. This time around, we decided to donate the koi and renovate the pond, pool, and surrounding landscape. I sought Yardzen's expertise and was impressed by their top-notch advice, plans, and customer care. I highly recommend their professional team for anyone seeking a hassle-free and high-quality outdoor renovation experience!! Well done, Yardzen!

Terrible. I didn’t get a call back from a single company. 0/5 stars

We went through the entire process and didn't feel supported or heard at all for what we were going for. You are given 1x 30 minute call to talk through everything and they expect you to write down what design you want in words through their portal. It's as if you are designing your landscaping by yourself. All they provided was some renders and a very basic minimal plan drawing. I compared the plan with what others were provided and it has about half the information needed. I feel we didn't get what we needed.

I came to them to get inspiration and new ideas and I saw very little creativity and even when I provided input, it was rarely followed. Not only that but it took 6 weeks from start to finish. One revision was included which was basically me correcting all the mistakes from the render after our first call.

They are not in business to provide you with a beautiful design for your property, they are in business to sell you on products and connect with a contractor that they make commission off of.

I'm extremely disappointed with the service and feel the value for money is just not there. I will look for someone who can come onsite and work with us face to face next time.

Their advice, as well as their ability to depict your space, was invaluable in settling in a design that worked for our backyard.

Yardzen’s team helped me visualize a beautiful transformation of my yard and home. They were quick to respond to any of my questions, and easy to communicate with.
