We are typically DIY travelers. Africa was a bit much to tackle as a DIY. We are glad we booked with Yellow Zebra. Highly recommend!

They worked with us to create a unique experience which included a gorilla trek and a gorilla habituation; Serengeti and Ngorogoro Crater safaris; and time to relax in Zanzibar.

They sent us trip planning information well in advance of our vacation (itinerary, info on tipping protocols, vaccines, clothing, etc) and were always available to answer any questions we had. We felt truly set up for success.

Along with this superb trip planning and support (in-country flights, lodging, gorilla trek permits, 24/7 trip support, Visas….) they work with African-owned companies for the treks, safaris, etc. They also had medical doctors on call if/as needed.

We had one canceled flight. We learned about it when YZ contacted us to tell us about the re-booked flight and lodging they had *already arranged* for us.

They also arranged to have people take us to or meet us in each airport (at ALL times of day and night) and walk us through customs, transfers, etc.

The lodges they arranged for us were excellent. All had clean, comfortable, quiet, beautifully decorated rooms; lush, well maintained grounds; and excellent food. The staffs were knowledgeable, professional, hard working, and friendly.

The drivers were skilled and safe and extremely knowledgeable about the areas we visited.

We were able to fully relax and enjoy this bucket list trip. Thank you to the Yellow Zebra team and their partners.

Unreal experience. We can see how people get hooked on safaris! YZ was easy to work with and pretty organized (though getting visas was a struggle, and that's the fault of the government agencies, but we could've used a little more help there.) They booked us with all Kwando Safari camps, which were lovely.

This was an amazing trip! All aspects carried out as planned.
Communication with YZ excellent before we left. Communication with the GEL team on the ground in Africa also excellent. Not only did we see an amazing number of beautiful animals up close but also saw many birds. Our guides at all 4 camps in Botswana were outstanding and incredibly knowledgeable. Staff at all camps outstanding. Accommodations at all camps clean, comfortable and unique. The people of Botswana were exceptional. I loved being greeted with singing at several of the camps. We also spent a few days in the Victoria Falls area including a white rhino walking tour and continued as a jeep safari when that portion was done. Somewhat less organized here in Zimbabwe and Zambia but nevertheless, still amazing. We had a terrific driver in Victoria Falls.
We experienced no issues except for minor disappointment with handing off the bag of donations we brought with us. (Pack for a Purpose) (Dental care and school supplies comprised our donated items). We were told we could handoff to Wilderness at Kinsane airport. The folks there were not expecting and didn’t seem to know what to do. I asked that they please see they are donated to a children’s cause. I hope that was done.

Matt Gammon and the team delivered exactly what they promised and the safari went very smoothly. Transferred through 4 different camps in Zimbabwe and all arrangements were exactly as scheduled.

Our Yellow Zebra consultant Tagatha was responsive and knowledgeable every step of the way from initial contact and planning to post-trip followup . She took our wants and needs and tailored an extraordinary safari experience for us that exceeded our expectations. We had fabulous safaris at &Beyond N'gala Tented Camp and Londolozi in South Africa. Shoutout to Yellow Zebra's Marc, Aiden and Oliver for their work behind the scene. We could not be more pleased and would recommend Yellow Zebra.

Personalized service from James Shortt in helping to design and plan a safari to Tanzania and Kenya was greatly appreciated. I have worked with James and Yellow Zebra previously on a Southern Africa safari and was greatly impressed by the service and attention detail provided.

Our trip was wonderful from start to finish. The hotels and resorts were excellent. We especially appreciated our personal guide and driver in Cape Town. Having someone who grew up in South Africa who is so charming to take us around was such a special relationship to build. The safari at Dulini was remarkable. Our only regret is we didn't stay longer! Azura Benguerra was a wonderful way to end our adventure, and we are so glad that we got to experience the serene beauty of that island, and the warmth of its people!

This was my third safari organized by Yellow Zebra. As usual, well organized from start to finish. I always love the beginning of planning a trip, with how they put together some different options for you, and then you start narrowing it down. From the day we started planning to the day we got home, Yellow Zebra did everything and more to take all the potential stresses of organising a 12 day trip to South Africa which included stays at 2 different camps in the Greater Kruger. Our trip was curated beautifully. We were supported every single step of the way. Communication was superb and the quality of our stays were exceptional. The whole experience was chilled luxury and the wildlife encounters were life changing. It truly was the holiday of a lifetime.

I inquired about specific things i wanted to do on a safari to Uganda and Rawanda. The most important thing was for me to see Chimpanzees in different places and different ways. I had an idea that I thought might work and got that set up. Matt came up with 3 different options that fit my criteria. None of them felt right so I asked Matt, my contact with the company what he thought of the 3 options. He told me that what I had set up was doable, but I'd be very rushed. He helped me develop an alternative plan. I am much happier with it and am looking very much forward to the trip. I could ask Matt anything and he had a great response. For example, what kind of binoculars to take and luggage allowances. He'd help me see the alternatives, but would always leave it up to me. Matt was always very responsive and easy to work with and gave me confidence in my choices. A few things changed as we discussed things, like dates. Sometimes it took a day or two to see the changes in the itinerary, but now it looks perfect to me and I'm super excited. Matt has been on a similar safari and said I'll love it.

Cassia has been extremely helpful and responsive, offering invaluable first-hand experience to guide us while at the same time taking into account our desires for the trip and our budgetary constraints. She really helped us design the trip of our dreams

We had a fantastic experience with Yellow Zebra. They listened to what we were seeking in our safari experience, steered us to lodges that met our requests, and gave us great advice about things we hadn't considered. Their availability during the actual trip was excellent and we felt we had support at any time if we needed it (which wasn't often because everything ran smoothly).

Bryan was so helpful and patient with us as we planned our trip to Namibia. He took the time to answer all of our questions and provide us with a lot of information for our first trip to Africa. He helped us book it pretty quickly, navigating complexities with our schedules too.
