I am very dissatisfied with You.com's…
I am very dissatisfied with You.com's service, mainly because the customer support appears to be practically nonexistent or at least highly selective in my case.
I have not been able to find any clear, reliable way to contact a real person behind the service. The only identifiable person I found was someone using the name Manish on Discord, but my messages there have not received any response.
Originally, I would have been interested in requesting an official demo through a face-to-face video call. I was even considering testing one or two live ARI queries as part of a genuine purchase evaluation. However, no one responded to me.
I eventually purchased the Pro membership and forgot to cancel it. Two days have now passed since the latest payment, and I simply wanted to contact the company quickly for example by email, but I could not even find a email address.
Some of the contact links indexed by Google appear to be outdated and return 404 errors. The Help button in the chat leads to a form, but after submitting it, there is no email confirmation or any indication that the request was actually received.
Overall, the UI/UX and support forms are very poor. In addition, if the chat responses do not consistently follow the service's own system prompt requirements, change formatting from one message to the next, and the markup intended for sources sometimes breaks or fails to cite sources correctly, it gives the impression that the product has not received enough attention, testing, or refinement.
In practice, it seems that the strongest part of the service is You.com's own web crawler and indexing system. However, the actual product appears to rely heavily on API integrations with other providers, without enough deeper customization. As a result, many interactions feel inconsistent, confused, or unreliable, and the conversation does not always seem to remember previous messages properly.
I also reported a similar issue in the bug report channel, but the report was closed without any meaningful explanation, no clarification on whether the issue was already known, whether it was being investigated, or what the actual status was.
Based on my experience, the company feels unresponsive, indifferent, and poorly organized. My impression is that the service was built very quickly with startup funding, with more focus on monetization than on support, reliability, and product quality.
This feedback is based not ONLY on my personal opinion, but also on concrete issues I encountered while using the service.
I am writing this review to warn others…
I am writing this review to warn others about my experience with You.com’s “YouPro” subscription.
I recently received a payment reminder for USD 180 for a YouPro annual subscription, even though I never knowingly signed up for any paid plan with You.com. I have only ever used such services, if at all, on a trial or testing basis, and I did not give informed consent for any automatic conversion to a paid, auto‑renewing subscription.
What disturbed me further was that the email included the last four digits of a card number, despite my not recalling that I had authorized You.com to store or repeatedly charge this card. Repeated reminders and attempted billing for a service I do not remember subscribing to feels like harassment and pressure to pay for something I did not knowingly buy.
In my opinion, these practices are at best highly questionable and at worst resemble a subscription trap designed to extract money from users who never clearly agreed to a paid plan. If you are considering using You.com or YouPro, I strongly recommend you:
Carefully check whether you are being enrolled in any paid or auto‑renewing plan.
Monitor your email and card statements for any unexpected charges.
Immediately dispute any charge or subscription you did not clearly authorize.
Based on my experience, I would not trust You.com with my payment information and would advise others to be extremely cautious.

I cancelled my account on Jan 30th via…
I cancelled my account on Jan 30th via my account page and they still charged me 18 days later on my card. I have not been able to get hold of customer support. There is only an online form and they haven't got back to me. I noticed it appear on my account, within 48 hours and got in touch straight away. I have sent another submission through their website again, checked my emails for a reply. Nothing. Need a dispute resolution now. I pretty angry and upset about this. Andwant to hear from customer support right away. I did not want to renew. I even made sure of that by putting a task in my diary. Customer servcies so far is absolutely terrible. Cancellation not being dealt with. And I am very upset about it.
The account access code isn’t coming…
The account access code isn’t coming through. I’ve already lost hundreds of euros up to this point because of this issue. They couldn’t even add a third-party login option—instead, they made it rely only on an email code that never arrives. That’s how ‘good’ they are. I don’t recommend it unless you have a backup or an alternative option for when they leave you exposed.
⚠️ “You.com Held My Son’s Schoolwork Hostage — Read Before You Sign Up”
My son is currently locked out of his student email account while waiting for his administrator to unlock it. The last time this happened, it took more than three weeks. We’re now a week into the same issue, and he’s still locked out.
Because of this, he’s also locked out of You.com—since You.com doesn’t provide passwords and only sends login codes to the email on file. We’ve provided everything they requested: the email on the account, a screenshot of the bank statement showing the payment, and the last four digits of the credit card used. Their response? Essentially, *“Too bad. You’re on a student plan, you barely pay anything, and we’re going to force you to upgrade to a higher-priced plan.”* They made it clear they don’t care that he has three months of schoolwork on the line, including a major coding project he’s been working on.
My son is now at risk of failing his class because all of his code and notes are locked inside You.com. At this point, we believe You.com has effectively taken possession of his work, since they have full access to it and refuse to let him back into his account. Because of this, we’re now being forced to pursue legal action to regain access to his own material and prevent them from using it.
Stay away from this company. If you ever lose access to your email, you will lose access to your You.com account—and you may never see your projects or chat histories again. This company has shown a complete disregard for students, going as far as trying to push a student into a higher-priced plan while letting them fail their classes and lose their schoolwork.
I’ve been using you.com for a whol Year.
I’ve been using you.com for a whole year and I’ve really enjoyed the experience. For me, it made sense because it was cheaper than subscribing to ChatGPT. A week ago, my plan renewed itself and I didn’t notice. When I did, I saw that the subscription had renewed automatically, even though I didn’t want that. I contacted support, and they refunded the money within an hour. I’m really happy with the service and can definitely recommend you.com.
I haven't even been able to use my Pro…
I haven't even been able to use my Pro account since sign up because they blocked it for "abuse." I never even got to ask one question, it was blocked as soon as I created it. Support doesn't read what I have done to troubleshoot and keeps repeating the same steps then closing the ticket. I can't submit the survey over these experiences because the survey website doesn't work. Support is telling me to change my email address when the platform doesn't allow it, or create a new account with a different email address when I have already paid for the account I have. I have requested a refund but that gets ignored. I will now have to report them to my bank to get my money back. This is absolutely a scam.
Gibt sehr intelligente Antworten.

I have been trying to cancel my subscription for a week, and they don't even acknowledge emails. Unconscionable.
Great Casual Use AI Agent
Alright, first off I've been using You dot com for 3 years, back when "Pro" was $10/month. They're continuing to honor this pricing, which is in-line with Protonmail's assistant. I'm considering switching.
Second, I'm a limited user. I'm not using it for much more than research into subjects I already know a good deal about or doing some language translation.
That said, their most basic UI is more than adequate and seems to have a long memory of conversations we've had. I find it more adaptable to my circumstances than ChatGPT was when last I had a Pro CGPT subscription.
Further, I loathe all that Alphabet does and if trusting Google is the gold standard, You doesn't have to do very much to stay ahead of them.
I use Apple's "Intelligent" features. They're cute. I've used Perplexity and found it clumsy. I found Replit to be lacking, but was also never bold enough to hand over $200 a year to Replit alone.
Are you looking for a casual well-thought out AI to use in every day life? This may be the AI for you. If you've got heavy workload needs then proprietary AI model subscriptions may work better than You.com's allowed usage of proprietary models.
I think this blended approach is effective for what I need right now. Every use case is subtly different from the next.
Lastly, I've read the reviews and find that You's 2.3* rating is in line with Trustpilot being the Yelp of AI review sites. Seems people come here to fuss and complain, rather than evaluate.
Or am I wrong?
No customer service and can't use it.
No customer service and can't use it.
Initially started using it, then busy two weeks. I come back to use it and can't log in for months. Tried to contact you.com many times but either don't hear back or hit a dead end message. Seems like there is zero customer service. You can't be in business if you have decided or forgotten to look after your customers. A complete waste of 1 year pro membership!
Citations look promising, but accuracy is often unreliable
I was initially impressed by You.com's inline citation system—it gives the impression that answers are grounded in real sources. However, after using it regularly, I started noticing serious accuracy issues. The cited sources often don’t actually support the claims being made, or the references are loosely connected at best.
In several cases, I followed the footnotes only to find that the linked pages had nothing to do with the specific statement. It creates a false sense of trust and makes fact-checking more frustrating, not easier.
If you're relying on You.com for academic or professional tasks, be cautious. The citations may look transparent, but they don’t always hold up under scrutiny.
Multiple Missed Deadlines on Routine…
Multiple Missed Deadlines on Routine work! I have been using you.com for several months, but over the last month and a half, you.com has missed multiple deadlines. I have an accounting spreadsheet with 19 different due dates that extended over a month and is still not complete. I had a request to create a book signing flyer, and it has taken 3 weeks and 11 missed deadlines! I DO NOT RECOMMEND YOU.COM
How did this pass security?
This website is so bad. It can't even do anything. Oh, and the cherry on top? I think I got a virus.
RIP you.com
I've been using you.com for so long, and I encounter a poorly experience lately, it just not giving good results, its way too short and the research is disappointing. Also my data has been recorded even though in it's policy says it's private and doesn't track users.

Been using You.com nearly a year for educational curriculum. Love the function. Recently canceled my pro subscriptions and created a team at twice the price. However, I can't add any team members and they're already paid for. No real help from support. Basically a "sorry about that" and "we'll provide an update from our engineers when we have one". I like the product/service but without good faith support, why should anyone commit to you or trust you?

Antwoord van you.com
you don't respect users so i give you one star
