The service I received from Scott was exceptional especially having to wait patiently for 11 weeks for me to call him back! Always informative always honest and we know the policies are going to be higher with the convictions on my driving licence - but never any shocks in the figures always made me feel I’m not being mislead - always called me back in time and despite changing cars and wives in those 11 weeks Scott stayed as patient and good humoured throughout / would 100% recommend their services. A special shout out to the boss Drew too - very professional and next time I will get him to read out the full direct debit term and conditions because I may have another half an hour spare! Of course but only being sarcastic the full service provided was outstanding from the first call to the setting up of the policy on a Saturday morning.

I would strongly advise anyone considering using 1 Answer Insurance to just not do it.
I made it clear to the advisor before the policy even started that I did not need coverage until a week later than the initial proposed start date, as I didn’t yet have the vehicle. Despite this, the policy was still started early, leaving me insured on a car I didn’t even own.
I am still within the 14-day cooling-off period, yet the policy has not been cancelled after multiple requests that it should be cancelled, and I’m being told I’ll be charged for the full week of cover I explicitly said I did not need. To make matters worse, the delays on their side mean I’m now being charged for additional days of cover after multiple requests to cancel.
I’ve also been told that the insurer has issued a cancellation amount that is somehow higher than the total policy cost, which even they believe is incorrect. So I’m now stuck waiting while they “figure it out,” with no clarity on what I’ll actually be charged.
End result:
- Paying for insurance I didn’t need
- Delays increasing the cost
- No clear answers
- A process that feels completely out of my control
Overall, this has been a frustrating and unnecessarily complicated experience. I would avoid this company at all costs.

Following your response, I want to set out the full picture more clearly.
I explicitly informed your advisor, BEFORE the policy start date, that there had been a delay in collecting my vehicle and that I did not require cover until 25 April 2026. Despite this, the policy was still started on 18 April, leaving me insured on a car I did not even own.
I then requested cancellation on 24 April, which was within the 14-day cooling-off period. Despite multiple requests, the policy was not cancelled promptly, and delays on your side meant I was told I would be charged for additional days of cover that I neither wanted nor needed.
Backdating the cancellation to the date I originally requested is not “good customer service” – it is simply correcting an issue that should not have occurred or been prolonged in the first place.
I was also informed that an additional premium had been applied due to my No Claims Bonus not being received within 28 days. However, at the point of cancellation, I was being told that the cancellation amount was higher than the total policy cost, which even your own team suggested did not seem correct.
All while still technically being on cover I had already asked to cancel.
To summarise:
- I was insured on a vehicle I did not own
- My revised start date was ignored
- My cancellation request was not actioned promptly
- I was given unclear and conflicting information about charges
End result: I am being charged close to £290 for less than 7 days of cover that I explicitly said I did not need and could not use, which was also cancelled within the 14 day cooling off period.
I stand by my original review.
