*AVOID AT ALL COSTS - UNLICENSED, BAIT & SWITCH, HOLDING BELONGINGS HOSTAGE - First Movers*

This company is a complete scam. I hired First Movers on October 8th after getting a firm quote of *$500 on a recorded phone line* with a detailed list of everything to be moved.

After they loaded ALL my belongings onto their truck, they told me the price was now *$2,900* and refused to unload unless I paid. This is textbook hostage freight - almost 6x the agreed price.

It has now been 2 days with NO response and they are still holding my property hostage.

After the fact, I looked up their company and found out they are operating UNLICENSED.* I could not find a valid DOT number or Cal-T license for them through FMCSA or the California Public Utilities Commission, which is required to legally operate as a mover in California. That explains everything.

First Movers - Return my belongings immediately at the $500 price you quoted on a recorded line.

I have reported this unlicensed and illegal operation to the FMCSA, the California Public Utilities Commission, the California Attorney General, and I am filing a police report for theft.

Do not make the same mistake I did - ALWAYS verify a mover's DOT and Cal-T license BEFORE they load anything.

My experience with Ryan at First Movers Clone was extremely disappointing. He was rude, dismissive, and questioned my authority throughout the call instead of having a respectful, professional conversation.

What really stood out was the claim that it would cost $20,000 to "clone" me. I asked if they were trying to remake me as God because the way it was presented came across as arrogant and unrealistic.

People should do their own research and compare the many AI tools available today before committing to an expensive service. There are numerous AI platforms capable of creating digital avatars, voices, and AI assistants at a fraction of the cost. Take the time to Google your options and make an informed decision.

Unfortunately, Ryan's attitude reflected poorly on the company. Customer service matters, and based on my experience, I would not recommend First Movers Clone.

I paid a deposit via Zelle. first movers does not provide invoices or confirmation emails.
At the time of booking, no cancellation policy or non-refundable deposit terms were disclosed.
I canceled within 24 hours and more than 72 hours (5 days) before the scheduled service. I made the cancellation in good faith well in advance, I called, texted and emailed multiple times but received no response and no refund.
The deposit amount is not much, but the business does not reliability or professionalism—I strongly advise against sending money to first movers until they improve their communication and clarify their policies.

We are glad we chose First Movers as our help for move! They went above and beyond to make our moving experience a breeze. We really sat back and relaxed, letting them do their job.
Alex, Tony and Nick were amazingly helpful and hardworking! Great value for money we paid. High quality customer service I would say.
They wrapped everything we asked for, reassembled the furniture without asking, and even helped reorganize the living room interior (we moved our 2 bedroom house from Costa Mesa to Santa Monica)

I've used First Movers three times now over the last several years, and they're great. They know what they're doing, and everything from making the reservation with Abby to the attention to detail by the crew, especially Alex and Nick were fantastic. They listened to my concerns and worked to make sure everything arrived in great shape and nothing was damaged. I highly recommend them.
