Using AB Moving Services for a move from Pennsylvania to Massachusetts resulted in deceptive pricing, severe delays, and extortive payment demands. Do not trust this company or their representative, Greg.

Bait-and-Switch Pricing: The initial quote was $1,800 for 9 boxes, a queen bed, a bureau, a sofa, a coffee table, and a TV stand. Even after removing the sofa from the inventory, AB Moving Services inflated the price to $2,400 on pickup day, forcing an unfair decision under time constraints.

Unexplained Delivery Delays: Belongings were expected the same day (Tuesday), but movers placed them in storage without a clear delivery timeline. Delivery was delayed by three days until Friday which we were not told about ahead of time. The expectation was that they would pick up the furnishings and head straight to delivery in MA.

Hidden Fees and Extortion Tactics: At delivery, movers added an undisclosed $300 fee for the walk distance to the apartment door.

Suspicious Payment Method: Movers halted unloading and demanded immediate Venmo payment—including the extra $300—to an individual account unaffiliated with AB Moving Services before completing the job.

Final Cost: $2,700 plus the cost of staying in a hotel for three nights because of no furniture from Tuesday evening until delivery on Friday.

We hired AB Moving Services to arrange our interstate move from Minnesota to Arizona based on a Binding Not-to-Exceed estimate. We chose them expecting they would coordinate the move and assist if any issues arose.

After our household goods were loaded, we were told the shipment allegedly occupied substantially more cubic feet than estimated, and the total price increased from approximately $9,987.50 to about $15,000. We immediately disputed the increase and requested documentation supporting the revised charges.

The pickup crew told us someone from the office would contact us regarding payment and billing. No one ever did. Instead, the following day we emailed every contact we could find for both AB Moving Services and the assigned carrier requesting payment instructions, copies of our transportation documents, and assistance resolving the dispute. We received no meaningful response.

Over the following days and weeks, we repeatedly contacted AB Moving Services seeking updates on our shipment, copies of our transportation documents, and help resolving the billing dispute. We received inconsistent information, and approximately one week after pickup—only after asking whether we needed to contact consumer protection authorities—we were told the shipment was "within the delivery window." This was the first time any delivery window had ever been mentioned.

I understand AB Moving Services is a broker rather than the carrier that physically transported our belongings. However, as the company that arranged our move and served as our primary point of contact, I expected clear communication, assistance obtaining documentation, and help resolving a significant dispute. Unfortunately, that was not our experience.

I hope AB Moving Services will work with us in good faith to resolve this matter. If they do, I will gladly update this review to reflect that resolution.

DO NOT USE this company!! They are a complete scam!! They quoted me $1900 for a move for a full 10 by 15 storage unit from NY to Fla. we confirmed several times that uniit was full and are they sure it's only what they quoted us. We gave a $700 deposit which they claim was non refundable. On the day before the move they said they made a mistake and it was now $7800. This is clear breach of contract. they have audio of phone conversations. They refused to give us our deposit back Even though owner said we did ask their employee several times if he was absolutely sure $1900 was the quote for a packed unit. I'm disputing credit card charges and will be taking them to small claims court!! They Refuse to give deposit back. Completely incompetent and total scammers

I hired AB Moving for an interstate move, and the experience was a nightmare.
* They forced me to pay $500 for a "shuttle fee" that was not in my contract. The truck (a standard 26-ft box truck) could easily park in my neighborhood. They later claimed the fee was for "Los Angeles to Santa Clara transfer," which is just their internal logistics -- not something a customer should be charged for. I had no choice but to pay under protest before they would release my belongings.
* The service was supposed to be door-to-door, including unloading, furniture placement, and reassembly. Instead, they just dropped everything off and refused to finish the job.
* The driver showed up without enough crew and even hired a random day laborer from a Home Depot parking lot, paying him cash to help unload. This was unsafe and unprofessional, leaving me exposed to liability if that person got injured on my property.
* They failed to provide or have me sign a Bill of Lading, which is required by law. Delivery was also delayed several days.
* On top of everything, some of my furniture was damaged.

This company engaged in misleading practices, unauthorized charges, and unsafe operations. I strongly advise anyone considering AB Moving to stay away -- they do not honor their own contract, and they put customers in unfair and unsafe situations.

Horrible company and service, they try to charge you extra and they do not treat your belongings with care. They lost and ruined my belongings and don't even care to help my solve the problem. I was cursed out and degraded by one of the drivers supervisor. I was threatened they will keep my belongings as long as they wanted, truly been a horrible experience i wish I would've just did it myself. I also did a review on they website.

DO NOT USE!! The Customer Service people were polite until you paid the deposit. After that, they were intolerant, rude, interrupted you while you spoke, or put you on hold indefinitely. We were told we went over our reserved space, and had to pay more BEFORE our belongings were loaded. We had no mattresses, no couch, no dining set. Only 2 small black shelves, an entertainment stand, hope chest, and a dresser. The rest of our load was boxes and bins. The movers charged a $200 packing fee, which was not previously disclosed. Everything was already packed! They left our home without providing an inventory list.
The movers had inflated our price by 300cu.ft. We felt as if our belongings were being held ransom. The unprofessional and angry manner in which moving men communicated, made us feel as if this was our "only option if we want our stuff moved". If we attempted to take pictures or videos, the driver became confrontational and uncomfortably aggressive. We feared retaliation towards our belongings if we didn't "go along with his claims" regarding cubic feet and pay him.
When our items and furnishings arrived at our new home, many of the boxes and bins were crushed or crumpled in some way. Some boxes were torn partially open. One shelf was completely destroyed and my dresser was broken and received cosmetic damage. The movers had no markers to differentiate between our items and someone else's; at one point they moved a box and an air purifier into our home that wasn't ours, and were asked to remove them.
We called to complain and were cussed out! We made a claim for damages and its been ignored!
