Worst sight I have ever experienced
Worst sight I have ever experienced. I will cancel my credit card that I have to pay through Bread Financial.
Horrible!!
Robbed!
Ive had this credit card through Carters kids clothing store for a couple of years now. In April I spent $28.06 and "apparently" paid it TWO days late, and they charged me $28.06 interestttt. I got a new bill today and I had a balance of $30.06!!!! IN WHAT WORLD.!!?
Straight up SCAMMERS!
Scamming fees after account paid in FULL
In April 2026 I had a remaining balance listed as $25.13. I was thrilled to log on & make that *final* payment in May. Today I receive a call saying I own another almost $60 because I was TWO DAYS late & I have a new remaining balance. The card hasn't been used in ages. So there is now a charge at over 150% what the ending balance was when I made the payment on the 1st? I even reviewed statements to confirm. Respectfully, no, thank you. The last 6 months of payments are all on time or early save for 1 & for that I paid the massive late fee without issue. On top of that, why are they calling me on a Sunday, why were payments going through on a Sunday, when they always claim only business days for them to be applied? Rhetorical questions. Sus.
Making payments on the web or the ap have always been a horrible pain, which is why I tended to make the payment even before the 1st. So I had customer service call ME (6 days past my normal due date, mind you) to demand payment. I declined. He said he could remove the late fee but then I still had a remaining balance. A remaining what, now? No. So, HE sends me to the supervisor. I wasn't even a crazy lady asking. This supervisor must get told off plenty because she came in hot and ready to scold me like I was a toddler having a tantrum. Ahem, I am an adult saying no and asking to be heard, but that wasn't an option, apparently. Was I irate? Absolutely!! They just pooped on my excitement of finally paying off a card!! She started the lecture and then told me off about interrupting her. I didn't need her to explain to me why they were attempting to steal another $60 from me, I understood their scam. I informed her I would not be spoken to in that way, she continued to yell and told me to have a good day. Was I supposed to call back? Beg? Perhaps I do not know the proper way to be scammed.
After my 'thank you, bye!' I hung up and got my statements in order. I had a balance that I PAID. I have since sent them the information with a formal request to close the account and payment for their fraud would not be paid.
Stay away if you can!
NEVER DO BUSINESS
This company has the worst customer service. They offer promotional plans but then make it impossible to properly pay them off so you end up paying outrageous interest charges. BUYER BEWARE.
Predatory company and the worst credit card
The B&H Payboo Credit Card issued by Comenity has been one of the worst credit card experiences we've had. Despite making our payments ahead of time, we were still charged hefty late fees. They also offer a product called "Account Assure," which charges fees based on your outstanding balance and, in our experience, provides little value.
Between the unexpected fees, confusing billing practices, and questionable add-on products, the company's practices feel predatory and designed to generate additional revenue from customers rather than provide a positive customer experience. Overall, this card has been extremely disappointing, and I would not recommend the B&H Payboo Credit Card to others.
Deceitful & refuses to listen to you
My ex-husband had AAA credit card for years. They sold their credit service to Comenity. When he received a new card, he read the reviews & immediately called & cancelled his account. Someone, I am assuming that worked there, took his info & started using the card with his name on it. They lived in NY. He has never been to NY, he has lived his entire life on the west coast. He wasn't receiving a statement, the person must have asked for paperless billing, charged up an enormous bill & then my ex finally started getting letters that he was past due. He notified them & explained everything of his circumstances. They refused to work with him. He did his own research, found out where the criminal lived & the places they used the card was within a few blocks of their apartment. Comedity still refused to help him. It took months & help from his local bank to get it straightened out. This bank is the worst. I just did business with Big O Tire, they would not allow me to read the small print when putting my purchase on an interest free plan. The bank they use is Comenity, which I wasn't told abt & their interest charge is 35.99% if you do not pay it off by the end of the term, CHARGED from day one of the purchase. I took a loan immediately from my bank to pay them off & get them out of my life. Beware. And it is difficult to speak with anyone there.

If I could give this ZERO stars I would. (1) unexpected monthly fees if I don’t go paperless, (2) A hefty charge for paying over the phone, (3) lousy website to pay on-line having to jump through many hoops and long disclosures (a red flag?) to pay on line. Shame on Sephora for using this company, which makes me not want to shop there any longer. And I certainly won’t be using this credit card ever again! Thanks to all the brainiacs at Comenity and Sephora for setting this up.
I sure wish I had read these reviews…
… before I opened up a Comenity-issued medical credit card (Aphaeon), so hopefully sharing my experience here will help others avoid the same mistake. TL;DR: "Buyer Beware," and make sure you understand the business model of Comenity and other banks like them.
Background: I've been faithfully paying down my monthly minimum balance a week ahead of it’s due date using my Visa debit card. The last time I made a phone payment, my card was inexplicably declined--even though the agent who took my card provided me with a reference/confirmation number, and I had over $6900 available in my account (other payments went through both before and since without issue).
It wasn't until FIFTEEN DAYS days after my card was declined (and eleven days after my payment was due) that I received an email from Comenity notifying me that my payment hadn't gone through. This email was sent by Comenity on a Sunday, and I read it the following day. At first, I was stunned that Comenity didn't notify me the moment my card was declined, as any reputable bank would. But then, of course, I remembered that Comenity doesn't make money if everyone makes their minimum payments on time.
I called customer service to ask if they would consider waiving the late fee and was treated dismissively by a first-line agent, so I asked to speak with a supervisor (let's call her "Dorothy"), who informed me that they had tried to reach me 21 times via phone over the last several days. Indeed, over the weekend, I had received dozens of phone calls from various numbers that my caller ID had tagged as "potential spam" or "unknown." Needless to say, I didn't pick up, and the caller(s) didn't leave messages. But even if they had, their attempts to reach me occurred long after my card had been declined and the late fee posted to my account.
Dorothy proceeded to lecture me that 1) it's my responsibility to confirm the following day that my payments go through even if there was absolutely no reason to think they hadn't (ummm, Dorothy, do YOU verify within 24 hours that every single credit or debit card payment you make hasn't been declined? Like many/most people, I review ALL my payments on ALL my accounts at the same time each month), and 2) I need to answer my phone, even on weekends, and even when caller ID warns you that the calls are not legit.
Dorothy also falsely stated that I can't use my HSA debit card pay down debt for medical procedures--which tells me that 1) at least one manager there is totally uninformed and delivering inaccurate information to customers, and 2) Comenity is out of touch with Alphaeon reps, who have been more than happy to put all my monthly payments on my HSA debit card.
While I'm guessing Comenity isn't technically violating banking rules, this whole experience has made it abundantly clear that Comenity doesn't want/need the business of people who pay down their monthly balances on time--otherwise I'm sure they would have waived the finance charge as a one-time courtesy in order to maintain me as a customer.
Final note: for those of you who may be thinking about taking out a credit card so you can spread out your HSA payments over time as funds are deposited into your account, don't bother with the medical credit card... I've learned that you can reimburse yourself for medical procedures (or in this case, medical debt) at ANY time in the future, as long as you have the funds in your HSA account and keep detailed records. I just now paid down my Comenity balance in full, and will never again pay another cent to banks that prey off consumers who are underinsured and/or can't afford to pay their medical bills.
Wont stop spamming my phone
Wont stop spamming my phone, I have never been to comenity bank.
Misrepresentation as to rewards
Got a AAA Visa card from Comenity. It says I get 5% on gas purchases. Then realized I'm only getting 1% when I buy gas at BJ's Fuel. BJ's Fuel is obviously a gas station and is entirely separate from the store. I understand that if the offer applied to groceries they wouldn't know if I bought groceries or something else in the store but from BJ's Fuel I could only be buying gasoline, same as any other gas station. They paid me 1% instead of 5%. What a rip off and misrepresentation.
Worst customer service- worst service…
Worst customer service- worst service overall. If you can close this account, the better. If you want to try it, don't. First, I can't get into my account- they did nothing. Out of my account on delinquent twice, even if already paid. Their agents are completely useless and lack quality service.
Comenity Bank (Bread Financial) not a…
Comenity Bank (Bread Financial) not a good company in terms of obtaining a credit card. I have them with the Caesars Rewards Prestige. I have a $29,000 credit limit of which I pay off 100% monthly. Yet every purchase I make over a few thousand dollars gets declined. Prestige card waives cash advance fees, yet limits me to $600 a day as if I were a child. Not worth the additional fee if you need a cc for large purchases.
worse credit card company ever
I have had an express comenity credit card since 2021 and I decided to apply for a Saks Mastercard on 4-22-2026. I was approved with a credit limit of $16,000 and I called to update the mailing address on my account. That is when I started having issues and was treated poorly with their account protection team. I had already emailed my drivers license and utility bill that verified my identity. The agents were unprofessional, rude, disrespectful, yelled at me, and hung up in my face. I called on 4-29-2026 to see if they received a bank statement with my updated address on it and they said that they closed my account. So I emailed the president and executive team to inform them of what had transpired. I received a call on 4-29-2026 from the fraud operations director Merrick Austin he said that he had my accounts re opened and they where never supposed to have been closed. He told me that several agents handled my accounts wrong and he apologized for how I was treated by the agents. I called to verify if both of my accounts where back open and saxs Mastercard customer service said there was a restriction on my account saying that I can't be serviced over the phone with a agent due to interactions with previous agents. So I emailed Merrick Austin and left him a voicemail on 4-30-2026 & 5-1-2026. He ignored my emails and never responded to me. So I googled the president Ralph Andretta information and found his phone numbers. I didn’t know that the number I called was his cell phone number and he answered the phone and I asked if he was still the president. When he said yes I told him that I needed help with my Saks Mastercard account. He assured me that he would have someone reach out to me today to help me. I received a call not even a hour later from bread financials attorney named: Zachery Miller he told me that he was calling to help me. I thought that it was wierd that their attorney called me and not a supervisor in customer service. He said that he would be contacting Saks Mastercard and tell them that the restriction need to be removed. I waited a few hours and called the customer service number from my work phone number and my accounts were closed AGAIN. I called the attorney back and he said the president was mad because I called his cellphone. So he had both of my accounts closed. This entire company is horrible and need to be closed down asap! I told the attorney I know that he lied about trying to help me and that I’m going to sue them for discriminatory acts per the fcra! I literally was reaching out to the president for HELP and he closed my accounts due to me calling his cellphone number today! All of their emails and phone numbers are in public records. He was supposed to help me with my accounts not play games and close them!

I am a new client to Comenity/Bread (Lexus Signature Visa).
They suspended my card for paying it off! $7000 limit, made a $5890 purchase. As soon as I was able I paid it off, and then they locked my card.
No notice, account shows available credit, not able to use my card.
I made several complaints and even complained to Lexus.
This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. No one wanted to help.
I strongly advise against doing business with this company!
Comenity bank is one of the worst banks…
Comenity bank is one of the worst banks ever. These idiots change the criteria for password without telling you they did that and now you can't login. You morons should let people know these things. Now I changed the password and still can't login.
Commenity bank isn't fair to first time…
Comenity bank isn't fair to first time late payers. I had two deaths in my family two days apart and overlooked my payment. Mind you I always pay early but my heart was broken causing me to forget. It was a one time mistake.
I paid my account in full and asked for the fee to be waived since it's literally the only time in years that has happened. I was not eligible.
So I'll pay the $30 and I'll close the account. Evidently money is more important than long time good paying customers.
Also their customer service sucked on another account with Comenity.
Literally no help at all to resolve an issue that should have been so simple to handle.
STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PREDATORY CARD!!!
I paid off IN FULL and CLOSED my account with Comenity Bank on March 20th (Salon Centric Credit Card to be exact) and received a new bill for an additional $45 today 4/23 for late fees as well as additional fees applied to my closed account. I do not understand how I have late fees on an account I closed over a full billing cycle before getting said fees. I even have the paperwork FROM COMINITY dated 3/20 that states 'Congratulations your account is paid in full' dated the day I closed the account. When I called to remedy the situation I was hung up on numerous times. I was threatened with being sent to collections by numerous very dismissive representatives if I did not pay. I finally had to end up paying these additional BS fees just to keep them from damaging my credit. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PREDATORY CARD!!!!
Comenity bank is the worst bank I've…
Comenity bank is the worst bank I've ever experienced. They will pretend to take your payment and then never update you that they don't accept that Bank (which everyone else accepts this Bank) and then when you go to make your payment 30 days later they will notify you that you now have a 30-day late and they have reported it to your credit. They have the worst customer service experience and take zero responsibility for anything they've done wrong. Anytime I would try to make a payment on my credit card they would pretend that everything was fine just to not process the amount later so that they can steal $41 from you for a "payment return fee." this company is an absolute scam and I wish I had never open an account with them. Do yourself a favor and stay far far away or close your account now before they ruin your credit.

This is by far the worst bank I have ever dealt with in my life. Comenity Bank operates in a way that feels completely predatory—they seem to hunt for any small mistake or unclear process just to hit you with extra fees. It honestly feels like they’re setting customers up to fail.
Their customer service is unbelievably bad. Every interaction is frustrating, unhelpful, and leaves you feeling like they simply don’t care. Compared to any other financial institution I’ve used, this has been a complete nightmare. There’s no transparency, no accountability, and absolutely no effort to resolve issues fairly.
I’ve reached a point where I refuse to deal with them any longer. I’ve closed all my accounts associated with them, including Sephora, Value City Furniture, and The RoomPlace, just to avoid ever dealing with this bank again.
If you’re considering opening an account with them—don’t. Save yourself the stress, the money, and the headache. Stay far away from this company.
