The training was comprehensive and supportive. Whomever I dealt with at AMC they were patient and helpful. As an older retired person my technical skills were non-existant. Not only have I learnt how to be an empathatic and competent Celebrant I have learnt that I can complete a difficult at times, on line course. I can also now competently operate what were scary pieces of modern technical equipment. You will enjoy working and learning with the AMC.

Completing all 3 Celebrant certifications and gaining the Master Celebrant level I have had the most enlightening and rewarding 17 months of study and personal growth.

Stepping into celebrancy training with the Academy of Modern Celebrancy was a fantastic decision for me. From the very first module, the whole approach felt fresh, relevant, and entirely geared toward how ceremonies actually work in the real world today.

I cannot rate my experience with The Academy of Modern Celebrancy enough. I have signed up to the Master Celebrant course and have just graduated as a wedding celebrant - with funerals and naming ceremonies yet to complete.
The course is easy to follow and you can do it in your own time. It fits with your lifestyle - whatever that may be. I enjoyed the time with my mentor, Ruth, who could not be more helpful, supportive or knowledgeable.
I am very excited about this new chapter and know I have all the support from the AMC community that I could possibly need!

The whole course was clearly laid out. I enjoyed the online self study aspect that meant I could complete it from anywhere in my own time. The mentorship stage felt well supported and I found the whole thing for the most part very smooth and organised. I loved the supportive environment encouraged in the community group. The hub itself was a little glitchy at times, but for the most part excellent, as were all the learning video modules and downloadable resources. The organisation kept in touch throughout and responded quickly to any issues. Delighted to have begun my celebrant journey with AMC - thank you!

A genuinely valuable certification experience

I am very grateful that I chose the Academy of Modern Celebrancy for my Wedding Celebrant Certification.

I really enjoyed the online learning library, with its combination of videos, workbooks and practical material, and I particularly appreciated the balance between self-study and mentor-led learning. One of the biggest advantages for me was the flexibility to progress at the pace that worked for me. I love learning fast and immersing myself fully in something, and I was able to complete the entire certification in two months.

What surprised me most was how much I gained beyond simply learning how to create and officiate a wedding ceremony. Already in Module 1, I was inspired to raising my standards in how I show up, how I speak, how I listen and how I present myself.

As I progressed through the course, I could genuinely hear my own communication style developing and see my writing becoming stronger. This course has made me more intentional about the words I choose, how I speak and how to transform details into a beautiful storytelling of a couples journey.

For anyone who is passionate about love, feelings, people and celebration, celebrancy is a wonderful world to explore, and this course gives a very solid foundation from which to enter it.

Most of all, I feel so grateful and happy to now be professionally equipped to create and officiate beautiful, personal and meaningful wedding ceremonies, hoping to begin with some very special people among my own family and close friends.

I signed up for this training and got a lot more than I was expecting. The support that you get is second to none, with weekly Q&A sessions, a Facebook group and a personal mentor for the critical part of the course.

I enroled 3 years ago and finished all but one step. Unfortunately, due to personal circumstances, I didn’t have time to complete the final recording of a wedding. I contacted the academy last year to see if I could finish off the course and they said yes- on the proviso I completed it within a short time frame. If I didn’t complete it within the given parameters, I would have to pay the full cost all over again. I had not realised there was a time limit. I paid over £3000 for the course. Just mentioning it so others are aware of this time limit. Such a shame as I was literally one recording off!

You become part of a celebrant community and therefore the support is ongoing. The mentors are supportive and provide constructive feedback. You don’t feel alone.

Fabulous experience. From self study to mentor training the course is full of advise and support. I have found the Facebook community a valuable tool. Would totally recommend to anyone looking to start with celebrancy.

From day one I was made to feel like I can do this! What a brilliant supportive team of mentors. The course notes, videos and workbooks are of a very high standard. I would whole heartedly recomend this course to anyone thinking about becoming a celebrant

My mentor Katie was fabulous. I did the Naming course first because of time constraints and Katie’s advice, particularly regarding the live reading was really helpful she was also very encouraging and gave constructive criticism.

Studying for the funeral celebrant qualification with AMC was an amazing experience. The support that i received the whole way through was great and i have learnt so much.

Thought provoking and guided self learning units to deep my knowledge and understanding of the role of a funeral celebrant. Practical opportunities to develop script writing and officiating ceremonies with confidence.

I have only completed 1 section of the Master Celebrancy course but the support I have received has been exemplary and I am looking forward to moving on to the next steps.
Have met many great people whilst undertaking said course.
Would highly recommend

The training is a mix of on-line learning, zoom support groups and mentor guidance.
It can be fitted around other commitments and you learn at your own pace.
Once you get to the Mentor Phase, you have 9 weeks to complete the course, which seems a long time. But you need to be organised and a bit slick at this point (the weeks fly by).
The courses are varied in content. They are interesting and engaging.
You will learn a great deal about yourself

All feedback given from my mentor (Christine) was in-depth, informative and very useful. Especially at the end of my last assessment, Christine spent the time to really go through my assessment feedback and spent time answering my questions.
I enjoyed the videos but sometimes felt what was being told was conflicting other videos that was delivered by a different celebrant. For example, I never truly understood what the term 'Eulogy' was as different celebrants explained it differently.
Overall, I learnt a lot and enjoyed my experience.
