Fortunately or not, I got two for one!
I chose my husband's name for his birthday, and my maiden name just out of interest.
I have previously investigated our surnames and could say that what was sent was readily available online.
Yes this is printed on decent paper and looks good but the actual content is minimal and quite poor.
On comparing both surnames the language, and wording looks and is actually very similar. I was expecting to be shown something new. Being told Sheena Easton( musician) has the same surname isn't a deep investigation.
This was supposed to be a gift, now I feel embarrassed to pass it on as when we look at both of them together they are so similar that it makes you feel less trusting of the information. Not worth the paper it's printed on in my opinion. Very disappointing.

The information in each pack is 100% accurate and thoroughly researched. We understand that when comparing two surnames side by side, some of the language around origins and migration patterns can feel similar, and we'd be happy to explain why that is if you'd like to get in touch.

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear about your experience and wanted to share what happened on our end.
Your order was placed on 29th June and despatched the very next day on 30th June. Royal Mail scanned it as "in transit" on 2nd July, but there have been no updates since, which unfortunately suggests the parcel has been lost in their network. It's really frustrating when this happens as it's completely outside of our control once it leaves us.
Regarding customer service, we can see you emailed us at 11pm and our team responded the very next day with your tracking information and a full update. We would never want you to feel ignored and we're sorry if our reply didn't reach you.
Normally in this situation we'd resend the order, but since it seems our emails aren't getting through to you, we've gone ahead and processed a full refund so you're not left out of pocket. If the parcel does eventually turn up, it's yours to keep.
We're really sorry this wasn't the experience you deserved. We hope this puts things right.

A great and unique gift.
I bought the surname history on the 28th. Initially I was buying one for my friends birthday but as it was a BOGOF offer I decided to get a second for my stepdad for christmas. They arrived on Thursday and are honestly so cute. They have the history of the surname, when it was first recorded and what it means. It arrived well packaged and in very good condition. I have already recommended to several friends as fun gift ideas. I am even thinking of doing one for my maiden name. I would recommend this site.

I was over the moon with my a day…
I was over the moon with my a day history for my father in laws 80th birthday.
He absolutely loved it. He loved how he could look back on all the things on the day he was born.
The delivery was very quick. Comes in an envelope that can’t be bent. Comes I. A very nice folder to keep it in.
Communication was brilliant and very quick to respond to my questions
Over all a great birthday gift that we can all look back on.

I was fascinated in trying to find out where my surname had originated from as my father was Canadian but I later had found out that my Grandfather was British & I believe my grandmother was Irish but have not gotten that confirmed as I only met her once when I was very young & my grandfather had already passed.The surname was not only in the UK but in New Zealand & of course North America which didn’t surprise me I passed this on to my older brother & his children & have mentioned it to my friends it came with full knowledge of origin of where it came from with some interesting information loved reading it

Thank you for your feedback, and we're really sorry to hear your Father's Day gift didn't arrive in time. We completely understand how frustrating that must be.
We wanted to share a little context on what happened. Your order was placed on 11th June and despatched on 13th June, which is well within our processing time for a fully personalised product. Unfortunately, once the parcel is with Royal Mail, delivery is out of our hands, and in this case it appears to have become stuck in transit on their end.
Regarding the tracking number, because the order was sent via Royal Mail's standard service rather than Tracked 24, the tracking updates are limited. Royal Mail only update the status when delivery is attempted, so the tracking page can appear inactive even though the parcel is on its way. On our end, we can see it was scanned as "in transit", so it did enter the Royal Mail network.
On the communication side, we can see an active support thread where our team have been conversing with you. The last email in that thread was from us on Saturday and we've been waiting for your response since then, so we're a little confused by the suggestion that we haven't replied. We'd never want a customer to feel ignored.
We know none of this changes the fact that the gift didn't arrive when you needed it, and we're genuinely sorry about that. We've issued a full refund for your order so you're not left out of pocket. Over 90% of our orders arrive within a few days of dispatch, so this really isn't the experience we want for any customer.

I’m very disappointed with my purchase from A Day In History. I purchased two, one with my maiden name and the other with my married name. The results of both histories are almost exactly the same. This is impossible. I see this site is fake and regret paying the money I did for this purchase.

Your order was placed on Saturday 23rd May and was produced by our team the very next day. Due to the Bank Holiday on Monday 26th May, the first available Royal Mail collection was Tuesday 27th May, which was still within the 48 hour (Monday-Friday) dispatch window stated on our website. Delivery on 1st June also fell within the 2 to 4 business day timeframe for the shipping service selected at checkout.
Regarding your emails, we genuinely could not find any messages from you in our support system, which would explain why you didn't receive a reply. Our team did respond to you via Facebook on Sunday 25th May with your tracking details. We understand that's not the same as a prompt email reply, and we're sorry for the confusion.
We were also sorry to learn that your parcel arrived damaged. Our founder reached out to you personally to apologise, issued a full refund, and offered a free express replacement. We hope that demonstrates how seriously we take these situations, even when parts of the experience were outside of our control.
